  1. These photos were taken as we were pulling into the event on Saturday around 11 am local time. It had been raining for much of the previous afternoon, night, and earlier that morning. It was a muddy first day.

    NASCAR news

Following on from my last F1 post, Red Bull confirmed a tie-up with Ford to supply engines from 2026. The F1 teams are currently launching their 2023 cars ahead of pre-season testing in Bahrain in a couple of weeks. Hopefully that'll enable us to move on to happier news after a few recent controversies. All the drivers have expressed concern that the FIA (the sport's governing body) have prohibited "personal, religious and political statements" by drivers without written consent. It might also be the end of the pro-diversity 'We Race As One' campaign that F1 has promoted since 2020. The FIA president, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, is also stepping back from direct involvement in the sport after trying to control aerodynamic changes to cars himself, commenting on financial matters and the discovery of misogynistic comments on a historic website of his. Roll on the return to racing!

    NASCAR news

Well then...I'm not too excited for their update. HA. I like the short tracks that they got out there now, but don't feel like they need more. I feel NASCAR is looking for more wrecks and so forth to bring in more people. Oh well...I will take any NASCAR right now. LOL. EIGHT MORE DAYS UNTIL THE DAYTONA 500!!!!! Bet y'all can't guess who's excited...

  4. I’ve recently discovered this YouTube channel myself & have watched a few of the videos (as I was/am as big of a KR fan as I was/am a fan of DOH). Recently I discovered that a German company called Turbine put out a special 40th Anniversary Blu-ray set of KR this past fall—which there’s a video about that on this channel as well. The set is actually region free, though, and is SUPERB!! It has original uncut/unedited NBC airings for the first time since the show originally aired!, with all original music, and completely restored in THE best quality of an older show I’ve ever seen! The special features & memorabilia included are off the charts, too! I so wish DOH could get the same restored Blu-ray treatment that KR did—it would be amazing!!

    Valencia Oaks Movie Ranch

I've watched a few more of the Knight Rider Historians' videos, and while the one below has nothing to do with Valencia Oaks, it does contain a funding appeal from the North East Ohio Dukes. It was only posted just over a week ago, so it should still be current.

  6. I made a new friend, Gary from Pennsylvania. He is a Ford parts guy. This is his 1979 F150, with a souped-up 460 and 36,000 original miles. It was a show-winning quality pickup, and I'm glad he parked next to me.

  7. This is a behind the scenes photo of the 2 car jump in the Hazzardgate Tape. This was taken to the left of the impound yard, infront of the Capitol City Junkyard. Being early on in season 5,the ranch was still being developed, and as you can see from the aerial photo from 1980 it was a barren lot. Here's a shot of Ted Barbara jumping the roadrunner in "The New Dukes". Apparently the run up was very short and he needed nitrous oxide. Ted would have used the area in the first picture as his run up. These are all photos that I've found on the web. If someone could post or email me a few screencaps of the Impound Yard and Duke Farm it would be much appreciated. My email address is conalldoherty06@gmail.com Finally I'd like to thank Hoss for providing me with an edited version of the labelled map. Hopefully this new map will be clearer and easier to understand

  8. In this next post I'm going to concentrate on the Hazzard County Impoud Yard/Tom Sarmento's shop. It's labeled as "2" on the map. This first picture is a behind the scenes picture, taken at the gate of the lot. Although the barn isn't included in this shot you can see the shadow of it in the right corner. This next shot is taken from the newspaper article about the 1991 deal. I'm sorry for the poor quality, but it's the best version I could find. This next picture is one I found on CGLFC. It was posted by a member who goes by the name of Corndog. Perhaps he is on HNet as well? The Lee on the right is the "Soundstage Lee" and the Lee on the left is the "Billboard Lee". This is one of the last photos of the ranch that I could find before it fell into disrepair. This picture is one I found on the Smith Brothers Restoration site. On the left is the late Rich Sephton, and on the right is Tom Sarmento. Behind the hill in the background is the I-5 and to the right is where the Duke Farm (1) once stood.
