An interesting little "tour" of one of the areas they used to film and some thoughts from John...

Max Verstappen got his FIA Super Licence, which allowed him to compete in Grands Prix, when he was 17. He didn't get his road licence until he was 18, and even then he was too young to rent a hire car!

Thank you Hobie, Roger, Hoss for the warm welcome back. I've missed chatting with you all! Thank you for the smiles too. I can't wait to watch those races Hobie. They sound dangerous and entertaining! LOL Hoss at what Fangio said. I bet it's hard for them to drive and not speed on the normal roads. I remember Jeff Gordon saying he got pulled over for speeding while he was on the phone with Dale Earnhardt Jr. He said he could tell the cop wasn't impressed that he was Jeff Gordon so he asked him if he wanted to talk to Jr. And Jr got him out of a ticket. It cracked me up...don't know why. LOL. Anyway, it's good to be back.

Thanks for posting that, MM. For anyone who's interested, I think John's standing about here. The curve on the road as seen in the video is now wider than the one in the 2011 Google image that I linked to (and therefore the one seen in the show). John has started answering fans' questions about Dukes on his YouTube channel, although for some reason he seems to like filming them mainly in portrait mode and just after he's done a workout. So far he's talked about how long each episode took to film, what he thought of the reunion movies (and the 2005/2007 movies), and who drank real beer at the Boar's Nest. Back in November, he also answered what he consider to be the top 10 Dukes of Hazzard questions of all time. I doubt that it contains many surprises for the folks here on HazzardNet.

We've mentioned a couple of historically famous non-NASCAR drivers recently, so I thought I'd share a quote from another that I heard last night. Juan Manuel Fangio dominated the early years of F1, winning the World Drivers' Championship five times in the first decade. Here's his quote: "Driving fast on the track does not scare me. What scares me is when I drive on the highway I get passed by some idiot who thinks he is Fangio."

Hey Garrett, you know how i am ( how Hobie the town drunk is...not really me) ....you've come back at just the right time. I've built a race track behind my Car lot and I'm going to be holding races this season all leading up to the 1st annual MoonShine 400! It's a little more dangerous than regular car races. We only drive with one hand. The other hand stays on our Mason Jars!

Yeah I don't wear my shirts anymore nor talk about it. I really don't know how to feel about it. I never thought of them being a racist show nor thought the flag on the car stood with racism. But I do see where people would cone to the conclusion that it does since slavery and all that was fought for by the people carrying the same flag.

I'm just really down that they are casting a big shadow over the Dukes by making them look racist or anyone who likes the show. I'm not racist and hate the thought of someone thinking I am just because of a show. But I do see where people are coming from by associating the flag with it...even if that's not what it was intended to mean. If all that makes sense...
