If you haven't noticed, we have a new clubs section. There's a Boar's Nest there, created by @Tom Duke. Stop on by and pull up a chair.

The chat room has been integrated into the new forums. Just click on the "Chat" option in the forums navbar and choose to chat in a forum web page or have the chat room pop open in another window. You can view how many people are chatting in the upper right hand corner of the forums under the Private Messages listing. Have fun chatting!

Hey, folks. That chat room is back! And this time, you have an option to choose Java, Flash, or Mobile/HTML, whatever works best for you. How many of you would be interested in doing a monthly (or more frequent) chat where we all cue up our Dukes dvds and watch an episode and comment on it together in the chat room? If y'all are interested, one way I've found that works well is for people to sign up for a certain day/time to host a particular episode and they'll be in charge of kicking the viewing off and perhaps adding little tidbits of trivia about that episode and the cast/crew. Seems HazzardNet got hacked. Fortunately, it appears damage was limited and I have banned the accounts involved. Unfortunately, upon upgrade, I lost a lot of the color changes I made to the forums and it will take me a while to redo. I also had to disable blogs for the time being, as they were throwing errors. Hopefully that will be fixed with the next software update.

I am creating a new membership group for veteran members that will allow them special privileges, such as being able to upload larger images, adding attachments to PMs, and extending the window for editing posts to 60 minutes instead of just 10 minutes. To join this group, you will have to meet certain criteria, such as being a member for over 2 years or having more than 100 posts. In addition, you must request to join the group. It will not be automatic. I will post more information as I get ready to roll this feature out. So, veteran members of HazzardNet, are there any other perks you would like that I may be able to add to the Veteran member group? -Mufn

Grumble, grumble. I know you guys haven't seen me around much lately, but I've been here, in the background, putting out fires and restarting the server a bazillion times (it seems). So, if you've smelled any smoke around HazzardNet, that was me! LOL. For quite some time, I've been trying to track down some issues with the new server that have been driving me nuts. If any of you notice any slowness on the site, error messages, etc, please post about them here. If you can PM me and copy/paste any error messages you get, I'd appreciate that, too. I *think* I may have fixed the latest issue that was filling up the hard disk with errors (fingers crossed), but I'm not sure yet…

Hey y'all, there are some new features with the latest version of the forum software AND there will be even more features coming with version 5. I thought I'd open a topic to highlight some of them. In the very right of the forum menu, you'll see a new link for Clubs. Registered members who are no longer on probation (we moderate a number of posts before you get off probation in order to keep the spamming to a minimum) can create their own clubs and invite members to join. Keep it family friendly, of course. Let me know what you all think of the new feature. As I find out what's in the next upgrade, I'll post more about it here.

We've just upgraded to a new version of the forums and it includes some great new social features. For the first 10 days to 30 days and 5 or more posts, users will have limited permissions. They cannot have an avatar, signature, or PM privileges. However, if you are honestly participating in the forum, please feel free to PM or email us and request that we promote you and give you regular permissions.

Hey, everybody. Sorry for the downtime today. The datacenter the HazzardNet server was in lost power while they were doing UPS maintenance. They had to migrate nodes to new servers due to filesystem corruption. I think HNet got through it relatively unscathed with minimal data loss, but if you notice any posts missing, that's why.
