  1. I purchased a martin warthog bow a year or so ago. I have been told its in very good condition but was missing some stuff. I picked up the 8 arrow quiver but I had to purchase another old bow to get it but it is the correct one at least. A friend of mine brought me s martin deerslayer sight and I put a new arrow rest on it too. Was wondering if anyone knows exactly what sight was used on the one in the show? I got the 3 pin deerslayer sight on it now and it looks good but I don't think that was the one. Definitely a cool old school wood bow. Just trying to get as close as I can to the one on the show.

  3. Well I haven't been here in a bit. The business we opened up wound up doing very well but taking up a lot of time as well but it is what it is. Wanted to answer the question that it isn't the one in north Carolina. I live in a small town called Plainville in Georgia, its between Rome and Calhoun. The garage/boars nest im talking about is just outside of Shannon ga towards Kingston Ga. The guy has a General Lee, a 69 F350 cooters tow truck, a daisy jeep and a hazzard patrol car. The garage is awesome and the boars nest is built to the RH side of the garage. Has the correct jukebox and pinball machine as seen from the show. Even has the machine that has the huge bands that Boss Hogg was using to shake the fat away lol. It's really neat how far he has put into it as in detail. He also has a toy section and there is alot of cool stuff there too.

  4. To be honest, I'm not much of a drinker, and if I have a pint it's likely to be lager or maybe ale. I don't dislike Guinness, and it does taste different here, but I can't remember the last time I had one. My friend likes the 0.0 alcohol-free Guinness which I might try sometime since I usually have my car with me.

I think I'd have to agree. Maybe you'll like the vocals more in this one. It was on the soundtrack of the 1991 Steve Martin movie 'LA Story', hence the clips in the video. Enya - Exile

The countdown of the 100 greatest songs by Irish artists started on the radio today, and they got halfway with some of the songs I've posted recently already appearing. It'll conclude next Friday, and I'll let you know which ones made the list. In the meantime, here's a song by an Irish artist who wasn't mentioned in the build-up to the poll. Cathy Davey - Reuben While I was looking for the video above I came across a version in Irish (as Gaeilge) with a couple dancing. It's fun.

  7. Thanks, Hobie. I've replaced your link with the alternate video. It's from a TV show, but I think they're just miming to the single. The one I posted was on their official YouTube channel, so I'm surprised it didn't work.

While I'm on Irish artists, I couldn't ignore Thin Lizzy. This song was written by the band's frontman Phil Lynott and guitarist Gary Moore about Lynott's newborn daughter. Phil died when I was 15, but I did get to see Limehouse Lizzy, the best known Thin Lizzy tribute act, about 25 years ago. Thin Lizzy - Sarah

  10. I was born the day John Schneider turned one week old so we both will be 66 next month. I was in the USMC stationed in North Carolina after getting out of boot camp in South Carolina. A lot of young Marines were talking about it so I watched it in the recreation room. I think it was Repo Men episode but I'm not positive. Been a superfan ever since. I'm glad it came out after boot camp so I can say I actually saw a Georgia episode on the night it debuted. (the ep, not the series). In boot camp we went 3 months without TV, radio, or a telephone. That's so cool that you saw the original episode on the first night....even though you were little.

  12. I watched the A-Team save a mission yesterday. And at the end I saw something amazing. Miz Tisdale hugging Mr T. So cool! I wonder if he told her she had to take a number to get a hug.

  13. After a last minute invite, I got to walk in the St Patrick's Day parade today. It's fun being in it, but it does mean that I didn't get to see many of the other participants. Luckily, the weather stayed dry, but it turned cold afterwards. Combine the cold weather with the busy pubs and I decided to delay my Guinness.

  14. I'm thinking that I might try a Guinness today. I mentioned ale above - have you ever tried it, Hobie. I see they sell Smithwick's in 14.9 oz cans in the US.

  19. I'll try to keep up the Irish songs until St Patrick's Day, but not all of the great artists make songs with single word titles. Here's a great song about resilience and unsung heroes. It seems to have been an inspiration to a lot of the commenters on YouTube. Lead singer Danny O'Donoghue also spent some time as a judge/coach on 'The Voice UK' alongside Jessie J, will.i.am and Tom Jones. When you've been fighting for it all your life You've been struggling to make things right That's how a superhero learns to fly Every day, every hour, turn the pain into power The Script - Superheroes I'm now going to break the one word rule because I wanted to post a second song by The Script as we used to sing it in the choir. This one is about a man waiting for a girl to return to the corner where he first saw her. Paradoxically, given the title, I find it rather moving! Going back to the corner where I first saw you Gonna camp in my sleeping bag, I'm not gonna move Got some words on cardboard, got your picture in my hand Saying, "If you see this girl, can you tell her where I am?" Some try to hand me money, they don't understand I'm not broke, I'm just a broken hearted man I know it makes no sense but what else can I do How can I move on when I'm still in love with you The Script - The Man Who Canโ€™t Be Moved

Celtic Woman aren't mentioned much back in Ireland, I guess because we have such a wide array of other great Celtic music to choose from. I see they're playing your state a few times in the next couple of weeks - are you going, Roger? Here's one of their songs that does have a single word title. Celtic Woman - Awakening
