Meadowmufn
Unfortunately, it isn't the first time. I hope he gets the help he needs. Skipper Duke
Hobie Hartkins
I like Luke Duke but I've seen enough of Tom Wopat to know he is just an A hole! Ever notice when they had the reunions ( behind the scenes), it was John, Cathy etc. but NEVER Tom! He's very arrogant and what gets me, is that if it weren't for the DOH show, where would he be? HossC
Sadly, it's also today's lead story on the BBC website's entertainment news page: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-40819816 Skipper Duke
Rollman
I agree with you completely Hobie. If you read his interviews, he always seems to look down on his time as a Duke. Wopat even hosted a country tv show on TNN back in the 80's or early 90's. He would have never had the country credibility to do that if it hadn't been for the Dukes. He hasn't done many Dukes related events until recently, he must need the money to support his habit. I've also talked with quite a few fans, including several at Cooter's Last Stand, who said that he was rude while signing autographs. I didn't hear a single negative word about any of the other cast members. Hobie Hartkins and Skipper Duke 1
RogerDuke
Very sad. I met him once and he was real nice so I'm glad I didn't experience his ugly side. That wouldn't have been a good memory to have. Skipper Duke
Hobie Hartkins
I have heard him talk down about TDOH and I'm thinking....." Dude that's where you got most of what you got!" Besides, those farming people in the small towns were and are the backbone of this nation! ( Remember Uncle Jesse's speech about how the farmer is the backbone of the country without much thanks or money for it? .....it was the one where Daisy got her jeep and helped those two youngsters get married...can't remember .....the name...help somebody ....?) Rollman
Season 2, episode 14, "The Runaway" I just happened to watch that episode last week, so it and Uncle Jesse's "Just a farmer" speech are fresh on my mind. Being a farmer myself, I especially enjoyed his speech. Here is an interview that Tom gave a few years back, that I ran across the other day: https://www.backstage.com/interview/playing-catch-with-tom-wopat/ He wasn't as condescending in that interview as I've seen him previously, but you can get a taste of his feelings under the "A Smart Role" heading. HossC
I was reading the story of Tom's arrest on another news site earlier, and had to laugh when I got to the comments section. One of the commenters had simply replied: "...been in trouble with the law since the day he was born." Andrew D Charger Chaser
Yeah, that did occur to me, but thought I had more pride than to go there....bet the arresting officers thought of that, though.... HossC
I also hope that one of the arresting officers toyed with the idea of saying "Cuff him and stuff him". Hobie Hartkins
RogerDuke
I wonder if they hung the keys on the wall close to the cell door and forgot to take his fishing pole away from him..........I feel like Larry the Cable Guy..."Lord I apologize for that".... HossC
Maybe his defense will be that Boss Hogg planted the evidence on him. Hobie Hartkins
Hobie Hartkins
Mr Wopat was due to star in 42nd Street starting on Thursday, but the theatre announced that a different actor would play the role.....oh I wonder why....????? Burl Tolliver
Tom reminds me a lot of Pernell Roberts. Both had an unreasonably high opinion of themselves as "artists." Leading to both of them compulsively running down the show that made them famous.

RogerDuke
This makes no sense to me. All that practice he had jumping over creeks and he can't get away from the cops. Sure, Bo was at the wheel a lot but Luke jumped too. I'm starting to suspect stunt men were in the General Lee. If anybody finds out don't tell me. It will ruin everything. Good to hear from you again Burl. Hobie Hartkins
