Can anyone know how old Cooter is during the show?

Not really, but it feel Cooter is supposed to be a little older than Bo & Luke.

HossC figures about 10-12 older then Luke but I thought I'd see what everyone else thinks. Hoss is only guessing based on the actors age.

I pointed out in a PM to Sonja that Ben was 38-44 while filming the show. Cooter had his own farm and his own business, and seemed to be a pretty experienced mechanic, so does around 40 sound right?

 

It would be nice if we could nail down the main characters' ages, but it may prove difficult.

To bad we don't have any cast coming in here...

Andrew D Charger Chaser said that Ben Jones was born in August of '41, so when the first 5 episodes were filmed in late fall '78, he would have been 37, and 44 by the end.

They always implied on the show that Enos was around the same age as Luke and Daisy but in real life Sonny is nearly old enough to be their father...and he still looks way younger than he is..

.......just went back and checked....Enos is 81...Luke is 65....Daisy is 63......Cooter is 75....Cletus is 71....Bo is 57 which is easy for me to remember since John is exactly one week older than me.

Well, are you trying to figure out the actor's age during the series (given above), his age now (also given), or the age the CHARACTER was supposed to be in the story? That was never actually given. He did have his birthday in "The Canterbury Crock," in which he only admits that once you get to his age you don't make a big deal out of it, but that's the extent of it. Probably easiest to go with something an approximation of Ben Jones' actual age.

True. Some say Luke is around 28 and Bo 24... I think i read Daisy as being about 26.

I think I remember reading that when they were casting for the show, they were looking for someone around 25 to play Bo. Of course, John lied about his age (and background and driving skills).

As I recall the only person whose (ficticious) age was ever revealed was Boss. That's because in "Baa Baa White Sheep" his twin brother's driver's license is clearly visible if you pause the DVD. Everything else is just a guess.

Maybe easier to say arround the actors ages...well except for Bo. John was like 18 at the time and they were looking for 24-25 year olds I think so he lied.

I've just found the piece I read about Bo's age in The Dukes of Hazzard: The Unofficial Companion. Here's the bit after John liked the script and wanted the part of Bo.

 

"My agent told me, 'You're too young for it, and you're from New York, so we told them you were twenty-four years old and from here,'" Schneider recalled. "They were looking for people from the ages of twenty-four to thirty. I was eighteen, just graduated from high school. If they knew that, I would never have got an audition."

 

I've also had a quick flick through Redneck Boy in the Promised Land, but Ben just describes the part he auditioned for as "the good ol' boy mechanic with a wild and crazy streak". There's no mention of age.

For the record, in the 'Dukes Family Tree' featurette, Gy Waldron describes Enos as being "in his late 20s".

John also lied about where he was from. He said he came in with a beer in his hand and told them he was from Snellville Georgia.....I don't think there even IS a Snellville Georgia!

Actually Snellville is a city in Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States, east of Atlanta.

That was probably the place that John was thinking of, but he actually claimed to be from Snailville. Luckily, the show's producers knew even less about Geogia than he did.

LOL...Thanks for the offer but I'm not really a drinker .....but I like the songs Mountain Dew and White Lightning. 

I drink every so often but only 2-3....I'm no drunk or anything like Hobie!...lol!! I might even go more than a year without drinking anything! ( It makes my wife mad!)
