I like the Hamburglar car!!   :)

Me too, but is Hamburglar still current in the US? I remember him from UK TV adverts in the '80s and '90s, but I don't think that I've seen him for over 20 years. Admittedly, I don't go to McDonalds very often these days. Maybe his criminal past caught up with him and he's been doing time in jail. :)

They changed his face. His nose etc. looked Jewish back in the 7o's....couldn't have that! Now they've softened up so much, they don't even show him any more!

Been a busy silly season week.

Chase Briscoe will be driving the Joe Gibbs Racing #19 next year replacing Martin Truex Jr. Christopher Bell accidentally let that slip out during a New Hampshire practice interview.

Gene Haas has decided to keep the last Stewart Haas Racing charter and run one Cup car next season as well as the Xfinity car team. It's expected that Cole Custer will drive the cup car next year.

I read that Christopher Bell let it slip that Chase Briscoe was replacing Truex Jr the other day. Ironically he just said Chase. Kyle Larson took advantage and took to social media and wished Chase Elliott good luck on his new ride and enjoying him as a teammate. LOL. I laugh now, but I wouldn't be laughing if it were for real. I'm so glad it's only a joke...

NASCAR'S sounding more and more like a soap opera!!  ( kind of like professional wrestling! LOL! :) )

It was the Spanish Grand Prix today, and Formula 1 is finally getting closer again. The three practice sessions were topped by three different drivers from three different teams, and none were Max Verstappen or Red Bull. McLaren's Lando Norris pulled out a near perfect lap to claim pole in qualifying.

Mercedes' George Russell got a great start from third, and was in the lead after the first corner. It didn't take long for Max Verstappen to overtake him, and Max went on to win again, but there was plenty of close racing and overtaking behind. Pole-sitter Lando Norris was closing on Max in the final laps, but had to settle for second at the checkered flag. Lewis Hamilton got past his team mate, George Russell, to claim third place and his first podium of the year.

There were discredited rumors online this week that Mercedes were sabotaging Lewis' car because he's leaving for Ferrari at the end of the season. I guess that this result proves that the rumors were untrue.

You can see the 8-minute highlights here.

Next weekend is Red Bull's home race in Austria.

I catch myself watching it once in awhile. It's unbelievable how athletic those guys who weigh over 300 lbs can be....doing flips and stuff. I bet Hobie is a WOW fan. I'm still waiting for Cousin Alice to show up. "Wanna rastle?"

Here y'all go again...talking something other than NASCAR on my NASCAR thread. HA. If you are going to be talking about another sport, at least make it baseball related instead. LOL.

Sadly I agree. I feel like NASCAR has become more about the drama and less about the racing. I just read this afternoon where Kyle Larson cussed his spotter out and how his crew is tired of his attitude, because Hendrick wants him (Larson) to retaliate against Denny Hamlin and he won't listen to his crew and spotter to do it. Hendrick has always been the least aggressive (when it comes to wrecking and fighting) team out there, so it's disappointing to hear that, but I'm sure it's catching up with the team as a whole for not being in the spotlight even with drivers who are on top of the points and winning races. I am not a Denny Hamlin fan. He's wrecked Chase Elliott enough times as well as apparently Larson as well. He may need an attitude adjustment, but retaliating on the racetrack is seldom a good idea.

Well, that was an interesting Austrian Grand Prix (i.e. Red Bull's home race). The sprint race yesterday went pretty much as expected. Lando Norris took the lead from Max Verstappen for one corner, and as Max retook the lead, Lando's team mate Oscar Piastri got past him too. They finished in that order.

Max also took pole for the main race, but a different tire strategy and a slow final pit stop meant that Lando was able to catch him. We then had wheel to wheel action for about a dozen laps before the two of them had a coming together with seven laps to go. Both got punctures, and Lando had to retire from the race. That left the door open for Mercedes' George Russell to take his second F1 win. Behind him, Oscar passed Ferrari's Carlos Sainz for second. Max was given a 10 second penalty for causing the crash, and eventually finished fifth behind Lewis Hamilton.

The race highlights are here.

Next week is the British Grand Prix, which is shown live on free-to-air TV over here. It should be a good race with the field closing up.

Santa!

I have children in Burger King or the bank or wherever I am, give me " The Look" and I know what they're thinking. I always come by on my way out and say, " Ho Ho Ho! If you don't be good, I won't come see you! Their eyes get huge, their jaw drops and their mother grins really big and says, " You see there? That's what I've been trying to tell you!"

Looks like Josh Berry will be signing with Wood Bros. Racing to drive the 21 Ford Mustang for 2025 season.

Also looks like his crew chief Rodney Childers will be staying put at Haas to be the chief of the lone remaining Haas car next year.

A little bit of F1 team news. The US-based Haas team has signed 19-year-old British driver Oliver Bearman for 2025 in a multi-year contract. Bearman, who currently drives in the F2 championship, stood in at the last minute for Carlos Sainz for Ferrari in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix earlier this year. After qualifying 11th, he finished 7th, and impressed a lot of people.

For tomorrow's British Grand Prix, the three British drivers (Russell, Hamilton and Norris) will be starting first, second and third. Max Verstappen starts fourth. There was rain in practice and qualifying, so it should be a good race.
