Brian Coltrane
I knew somebody would pull that one out sooner or later! Fortunately it wasn't me. I'll reply with another one from a bygone era....Sweet Hitch-hiker by Creedence Clearwater Revival
HossC
I knew somebody would pull that one out sooner or later! Fortunately it wasn't me. Tell me you've never had a few beers and found yourself singing along to Neil Diamond and I'll take your derision like a man .This song was released in 1992, but the album was recorded in mono. It could almost be a lost early Rolling Stones session.
MaryAnne
More great tunes! I'm still stuck in the 80s... Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) - Eurythmics

Holy crap. Not only does it sound like early Rolling Stones they even LOOK like the early Rolling Stones! LOL
HossC
... they even LOOK like the early Rolling Stones! LOLThey do on the video, they didn't on the album cover:It's a fun album. I'm glad I bought it in 1992 because I haven't seen it since.I'll continue with some more '80s pop: This was from about seven years before they bored everyone senseless by spending 15 weeks at #1 in the UK charts with their cover of 'Love is All Around' from the soundtrack to the 1994 film 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'. Brian Coltrane
Tell me you've never had a few beers and found yourself singing along to Neil Diamond and I'll take your derision like a man . Uhhhh.....Considering it's one of the drinking anthems around here (and probably around the world) I couldn't say never. Sweeeet Caaar-o' line....ba ba ba! Good times nevah seemed so good (so good! so good! so good!) Now I gotta find another song to post before I can't get Sweet Caroline outta my head. Brian Coltrane
Awright, we're gonna cheese it up now. Sometimes the only way to get rid of an earworm is to replace the song in your head with something worse. To that end, I give you...Sweet Gypsy Rose - Tony Orlando & Dawn
HossC
You've set the mood now Brian. From the same era: Check out the great suits in the video. It's interesting looking at the cross-Atlantic time delay back in the '70s. The Tony Orlando & Dawn song charted in the US in '73, but '74 in the UK. Conversely, this song charted in '74 in the UK and '75 in the US.

HossC
I'll take it back a decade ... Apparently this version, that was a hit in the UK, didn't chart in the US. The was by The Drifters, and I see that Tony Orlando also covered it in his brief solo career (although I can't find a video of that one). Brian Coltrane
We really have some time capsules here! I don't know where this is all gonna end, but I've got one more: Lead vocals are by Mike Nesmith on this one.
HossC
I've only got a few 'sweet' songs left myself, so I thought I'd include this one. It should be acceptable, seeing as we're in the Hazzard Swamp - besides, I'm sure y'all have been waiting for it with antici ... pation! Brian Coltrane
It took me days to recover from that one. Also took me awhile to find a suitable reply. I give you: ...getting paid for being laid.... nice work if you can get it. Skipper Duke
HossC
This lady isn't painted This song was written for, and featured in a couple of years ago. The picture of Eva Longoria (I hear she's in a popular TV show) is because she appeared in another commercial for a similar product (from the same company) around the same time. The similarity between this song and has been much commented upon. The worrying thing about my last post is that YouTube offered me a version by the cast of Glee - is nothing safe . Capt_Redneck
This is rock n' roll at it's very best. Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, Ronnie Lane (replaced by Testu Yamauchi) , Ian McLagen , Kenny Jones were the ultilmate pure rock and roll band in the world. This video shows them at their height in the early 70s plus it also has Keith Richards helping them out...Enjoy
HossC
Nice choice Capt, it's not a song I know. I thought I'd go for the man himself with a hit from 1958:Sweet Little Sixteen - Chuck BerryThe Beach Boys 'borrowed' the tune for their hit Surfin' USA. Berry sued and got joint writing credits and a share of the royalties.Sometime Dukes looks dated by the lack of political correctness. We don't get songs about 16-year-old girls anymore either. Garrett Duke
Love the song...wish I could have seen him in concert. He was the first country artist that I liked...my very first favorite song was his "Baby's Got her Blue Jeans On" I still love that song and have to turn it up when it comes on the radio - which it barely does anymore.
