Joe continued to just lean back against Hank, his eyes starting to close. His breathing was still raspy and his chest felt a little tight and achy.

Hank held hin close, not tightly for fear he'd hurt him, but securely as they raced to the doc's office in town.

Upon getting there, Hank slid off of the horse taking Joe with him and cradling his younger cousin in his arms ran to the doc's door kicking it for a knock. "Doc! Doc!"

Joe laid a little limp in Hank's arms, swallowing against his soe throat.

The doctor opened the door. "What in the world..."

Hank pushed past him carrying Joe in and putting him on the table. "No time for small talk. He needs help...he pre-near drowned!"

Joe rested on the table, looking up at the cieling as he started up coughing again.

Quickly the doctor crossed to the table and started to examine him.

Hank looked on worriedly, trembling ever so slightly.

Joe lay still under the doctors hands, feeling too tired to struggle and protest he was ok.

The doctor listened to his heart with a skilled ear. Hank just watched worriedly.

Joe sighed a little raspily, shivering softly.

The doctor covered him with blankets. "He swallowed a lot of water. But mostly he's exhausted. And you'll have to watch...bein wet for so long...he might catch cold."

Hank nodded looking at him.

Joe closed his eyes as the doctor covered him with blankets, feeling even more sleepy.

Loraine rolled her eyes and stepped outside, seeing Hank's horse at the doc's office, great he was in town all the more reason for her to get shot and die.

"Alright Frank back to back 10 paces."

Loraine swallowed hard as she turned her back and placed ti against Frank's.

Jesse counted loudly,"1....2....3..."

Loraine swallowed hard as she was waiting for the 10th number to be called.

Hank looked at the doc.

"Best place for this boy is in bed...I have an extra wagon out back if you'd like to borrow it." said the doc.

"Is it safe to move him?" asked Hank not wanting to harm Joe more than he already had.

"Should be...just keep him warm..."

Frank paced off to..though both he and Jesse knew that he would never count ten before he fired.

Loraine watched ovr her shoulders as she haerd the number 5 yelled out, she quickly turned around as she knew the games that Frank played, As she fired her gun she felt a warm liquid on her arm, Frank had shot her in the arm, it was dark and that gave Loriane another advantage, Frank wouldn't be able to shoot straight,Loraine shot at Jesse, knocking his gun out of his hand, she could see lamps flicker on in the hotel.

Joe's eyes flew open as he hears gunshots, and despite his weakness, his hand quickly flew to his gun, it being cocked and ready before anyone in the room could even blink.

Hank's too had been quickly drawn, intending that no one would hurt Joe again...not if Hank had any say about it.

Loraine fellto the ground, as Frank had shot her in the stomach,"Least....I....KNOW.....I.......GOT...........MY LICKS....IN...ON...YOU."

Loraine screamed out to Frank. She was proud that she had shot him, might not have killed him, or injured him but knew she had shot him...it still wouldn't stop him from robbing the bank though. Jesse looked to his hand and knowing the Doc wouldnt know who they was he hollered for him,"DOC...SOMEONES BEEN SHOT!!!!"

Needless to say folks, Jesse and Frank James disappeared into the night, they never robbed the bank either, Loraine left town and headed south. Truth was she did go t her grave loving Hank, She was shot in a shoot out, after reuniting with her son. Hank and Joe went on with their daily lives as if nothing happened.
