The word “sorrel” can mean a few different things depending on context:

1. Botany (plant):

Sorrel is a leafy green herb from the Rumex genus, known for its tart, lemony flavor due to oxalic acid. It’s used in soups, salads, and sauces — common in European, Caribbean, and African cuisines.

2. Culinary drink:

In the Caribbean, sorrel usually refers to a spiced, ruby-red drink made from dried hibiscus petals (Hibiscus sabdariffa), ginger, cloves, and sugar — especially popular during Christmas.

3. Color:

“Sorrel” can describe a reddish-brown or coppery color, often used to describe horse coats (e.g., a sorrel horse).

Just FWIW, Sorrell spelled his name with two Ls.

Sorry to be pedantic, but I was correcting your spelling, not your grammar! :)

BTW. You're not alone. If you watch the end credits of "The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion!" the TV movie, the first screen is headed "In Loving Memory" and also misspells Sorrell as Sorrel.
