Chet Duke Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 If there is one Im sure it'll be next summer sometime. I hope to go, so as soon as anyone gets any info for the 2007 Festival (pending of course) please leme know, the sooner I can plan ahead the better. With the turn out that I heard about this year Im almost sure 2007 will be great. ~Chet Duke Quote
TimDuke Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 Allegedly Tom Wopat signed a 5 year contract for Dukesfest so if that is true there will be at least 4 more Dukesfest 5- this year = 4 Quote
Chet Duke Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 Thats great news! May I ask who your source is?~Chet Quote
TimDuke Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 I read that on the Confederate General Lee fan club's message board, again I'm just going by that this really hasn't been confirmed. Quote

Brian Coltrane Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 I have it from a solid source, that Tom is "likely" to be at DukesFest in 2007, unless he has other commitments that conflict. Brian Quote
redneck woman Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 That's awesome! I'm definitely going next year, even if I do have to go by myself! Quote
Little Frog Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 That's awesome! I'm definitely going next year, even if I do have to go by myself! With all the Dukes fans here on the HNet, surely to goodness NOBODY should have to go to DukesFest alone! My group is always open to new friends, if nothing else! Emma Quote
redneck woman Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 Thanks Little Frog! It's much appreciated!!! I'm hoping I can get my new Dukes convert to go along with me. I got her hooked on Smallville and Dukes in the last few months, so maybe she'll be ready to go next year. Quote
boiscute2007 Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 My mom says if I still like Dukes as much as i do this year I'm goin' to DukesFest next year. My dad and me are really happy 'bout that 'cause we know i'm gonna like it as much as I do this year.My mom ain't gonna be happy though, 'cause for some odd reason she hates the show. Quote

HotHillbilly Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I surely hope they do one next year. This year I had everything planned out to go, but at the last minute plans got changed and I wasn't able to go, and I was so very bummed. I hope Tom does come next year. tehe. Quote
The_Dukes_Generl_Lee01 Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 I'm definitely going next year, no doubt at all because my dads girlfriend wants to go to nashville and she watches the Dukes with me when we go riding and I have my portable DVD player with me, and it ia really fun too! YEEHAW! Quote
BoRobertDuke Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 I wanna go, I wanna go! This time I wanna build up funds and go! I wanna see the fun, and be there, but I REALLY wanna enjoy it with the HNet family...With my sister especially=author MaryanneFrom Bo: "Sounds like fun.." Quote
CountryGal1975 Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 I went last year, but was unable to attend this year as I had obligations out in Deadwood, South Dakota. I hope they have another next year for I plan to bring my Mom (again) and possibly my little brother...and my Charger. Quote
TimDuke Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 Dukesfest is a GO!! Tentative for first weekend in June like last year but it is going to happen. If you own a Hazzard vehicle there has been a meeting with Miss Alma and a lot of the problems that occurred are supposed to be corrected and some special treatment for them as well. I can't give details yet. Quote
Lukas_KD Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 That great! I was pretty sure it would happen but always good to have confirmation. I wonder who (of the cast, crew, etc) will be there in '07? Probably too early to tell entirely, but if I remember rightly I do think the general consensus for '06 was that it was a blast! Hectic... 100,000 people in one place yikes... but a lot of fun.~Lukas Quote
TimDuke Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Yeah they way oversold tickets last year. That venue is really only designed for about 30,000 people at most.Hopefully they learned from last year and have a sold out point.Regardless if you intend to go just for autographs even at 30k you aren't likely to get more than one or 2 and your looking at 4-6 hour wait for say John, Tom or Cathy if you aren't there early.Hopefully the issues with the Hazzard vehicles will finally get resolved but I wouldn't count on that either. Each year since 2001 Ben and Alma keep promising things for us car owners and each year we get disappointed. Last year was really bad. They had better come through this year or else there will be very few or no Hazzard vehicles going in 2008 assuming it will continue past 2007. There are already a bunch of guys I talk to that are very hesitant to go this year because of what might happen. I can't say as I blame them. After you've spent thousands of dollars restoring a car showing your devotion to the show.Spend almost 3 bucks a gallon on gas on a car that gets poor gas mileage. Plus lodging. Then you get there and get treated like crap when your vehicle helps draw in the crowd. Yeah I'd be pretty angry. I haven't been able to attend with my General since 2002 the last one in Sperryville. Even then the event was getting to be very large.I waited 6 hours for Cathy then. Quote

I haven't been able to attend with my General since 2002 the last one in Sperryville.2006 Dukesfest Attendee point of view - Getting there early does not gurantee an autograph when thousands of people have that same idea. The people I saw enjoying themselves the most were the ones who didn't go with any expections, and that includes replicia owners. Could be a dozen people and someone would still find something to whine about.Very simply, choices are made. No one forces someone to make a General Lee or patrol car, bring it to any event. It saddens me, this thread has another "certain selection of the fandom deserves more or is better" post. DOH was/is about a community, just like Dukesfest. =) Quote
