Breaker1 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Breaker! Breaker! Calling all citizens of Hazzard County! I am looking for information on any, and all CB radios used in the tv series. Bo & Luke had a Cobra 78X in the General, but I don't know what everyone else used. I have always planned to search the episodes to put together a complete history on this, but I have yet to do so. I am going to start with episode 1 to see what I can find. Please add screenshots if you can. Looking for pictures and info on the radios, mics, antennas, and base stations shown throughout the show, and movies. Thanks everyone! Skipper Duke and RogerDuke 2 Quote
HossC Posted March 9 Posted March 9 There are a few models listed in other threads, some with pictures: Cooter apparently had a Radio Shack REALISTIC TRC-432 NAVAJO CB base station https://hazzardnet.com/forums/topic/5960-cb-radios-on-tdoh/ This thread shows the Cobra 77x, 78x and the Sharp 40 Channel https://hazzardnet.com/forums/topic/6050-which-cb-radio-was-in-the-general-lee-in-the-tv-series/ RogerDuke 1 Quote
Breaker1 Posted March 9 Author Posted March 9 Thanks HossC, that's a good start! I will check those out. RogerDuke 1 Quote
RogerDuke Posted March 10 Posted March 10 I wonder how many different types of walkie talkies were used. That would probably be tougher to figure out. Quote
RogerDuke Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I wondered how many episodes had dirt bikes on them so I watched all 7 seasons and made a list. Of course I am always looking for a reason to watch episodes. Hmm, I wonder how many episodes show people fishing. Looks like I need to start over. Quote
Breaker1 Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 Yep! Looks like you have some homework to do. After that, tell me how many episodes show an action shot of the front wheel of the general from a side mounted camera? Then after that, how many episodes show Bo & Luke blowing something up with high flying dynamite? Then after that, what episode shows the boys drop dynamite from the General while flying over their target? No cheating now. Only one question answered per all 7 seasons! Wink. Wink. Quote

Breaker1 Posted Thursday at 08:37 PM Author Posted Thursday at 08:37 PM That was me, pretty much daily, no matter what the weather was. I've always been the high energy, can't sit still for long, type of person. Being "locked up" in school 8 hours a day was torture. I know exactly what those poor animals in the zoo feel like. Hobie Hartkins Posted Friday at 01:34 AM Posted Friday at 01:34 AM I met one of my middle school teachers at Walmart after I'd grown up, got married etc. She said I hated school worse than any kid she ever knew! RogerDuke and Skipper Duke 2 Quote

RogerDuke Posted Sunday at 07:52 PM Posted Sunday at 07:52 PM When I got in high school I could have got better grades but couldn't afford college anyways so there was no incentive to work hard in class. "Rich man goes to college. Poor man goes to work" Charlie Daniels, Long Haired Country Boy well....that USED to be so....now college is another form of welfare. The Feds will pay for your room, board etc. if you're in school. I know people I went to school with that weren't even trying to graduate! They had hundreds of credits but no degree. That happens when you switch majors 3/4 0f the way through. Quote
Meadowmufn Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I didn't hate school, but it wasn't my favorite thing. I enjoyed being on the softball and basketball teams more than academics. That said, I ended up valedictorian of my graduation class. Every quarter, the coaches would go around asking grades to see if players were still eligible for the team, after about the second quarter, they stopped asking me. LOL. Hobie Hartkins 1 Quote
Breaker1 Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago I liked some parts of school, like art, shop class, lunch, and recess. Hobie Hartkins 1 Quote
HossC Posted 37 minutes ago Posted 37 minutes ago Like MM, I didn't hate school either. I was lucky enough to go to a very good school with some excellent teachers. We had a fairly traditional (for the UK at least) school uniform, and I really missed my blazer and its pockets when I left! Quote
