Long overdue for recognition is somebody who has been a part of HazzardNet since 2004. He's also a member of the CGLFC and has been an active voice among Dukes fans for many years. This longtime Dukes fan is a friend to many. He's also never afraid to speak his mind. Yet he always conducts himself with honor even if discussions and opinions get a little hot. I chose this photo in recognition of our Fan of the Month because it speaks to the same values that Capt Redneck has always shown. He's hard-working and self-sufficient. He can take care of himself, but he's always ready to help a friend in need. So this scene of the Duke farm during the GA filming is appropriate; Capt Redneck is in it somewhere. Congratulations, Capt Redneck, and thank you for being a part of HazzardNet! Sal-ute!

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
Brian Coltrane replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
Rog, if you're interested, there's a rough copy of it on YouTube. It's watchable, but the audio is tinny and the picture quality is a little rustic. Also be warned that Moonrunners is more like the 2005 big-screen Dukes movie, than it is like the Dukes of Hazzard that you know and love. The Haag boys (cousins, who fight the system) are not noble characters. In fact, one of 'em proves himself fairly useless for anything but tomcatting around, to put it nicely. But it should be remembered that this movie is based in part on the real-life experiences of Jerry Rushing, who himself was not a noble character in his moonshining days. It's worth watching though. Your Dukes history ain't complete without it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nL0coyOsM-E Trivia: Moonrunners made 8 million dollars, after being filmed for $360,000. Gy Waldron did not get any of the box office proceeds, though he was able to reimburse his investors. Moonrunners was his first significant commercial success after 17 years of writing. (MaryAnne, maybe there's hope for us yet...) And now back to trivia in progress, excuse the sidebar here.- 3,817 replies

Just bought a 69 Charger! after years of looking!
Brian Coltrane replied to greenmonsta79's topic in The General Lee
Wow, that looks and sounds like a lot of work! But it's going to be well worth it. Are you planning to show off your General at Hazzard Homecoming or any car shows this summer? -

Don't You Recognize Your Own Kin?
Brian Coltrane replied to K-Duke15's topic in Fanfic Announcements
I will take a look at your story and try to give feedback sometime in the upcoming week. Though time constraints prevent me from reading everything out there. I can tell ya that feedback isn't frequent in fanfic circles, so if you're writing for feedback, you'll find it unrewarding! And then there's the trolls and the haters, that give feedback that isnt' constructive. It's been my experience that a lack of feeback doesn't mean nobody is reading. It's kinda like the forums here. We get thousands of eyeballs on this site on a weekly basis, but only a percentage sign up for the forums, and a smaller percentage from there actually posts something. Sometimes I think we got the market cornered on lurkers. But that's awright, 'cause I know that somebody is reading our silly website, even if they've chosen not to chime in. Anyhow! Don't throw in the towel on your efforts if you're not getting feedback. It may take time. -
Valencia Oaks Movie Ranch
Brian Coltrane replied to CDoherty95's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
I'm impressed! You put a lot of work into this. Between you and Hoss there are some great details here. I've got a question for ya'll, and maybe it's already been answered in a thread and evades my memory. But has anyone figured out the location of the racetrack used in a couple of Dukes eps? I think the same track was used in "Hazzard Connection" and "Carnival of Thrills". I believe it was also used in a Knight Rider episode called "Slammin' Sammie's Stunt Show Spectacular." I'm curious if it was/is an actual operating race track, or if it was just a temporary studio set. Sorry I can't remember, I'm usually doing my HNet rounds very late at night and my brain is off-duty. -

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
Brian Coltrane replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
I found the answer (when I wasn't looking for it) while making vid clips of "Boss Behind Bars" which is a Season 6 episode. The Duke boys start to investigate the Beaudry's and mention the location. Good question, tho', that was a tough one!- 3,817 replies

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
Brian Coltrane replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
I just realized I'm way off on this one. But, I ain't gonna retract my guess or edit my prior post. We'll see what Roger has to say on it. Surprisingly, I found the answer ( I think) in an episode that I didn't expect it to be in, while I was making vid clips.- 3,817 replies

Quick General Lee market updates! (ain't this cooler than stock market reports?) The "Coy Duke" General Lee replica appears to have had 1 bid for $140,000. We do not know if this has been accepted; the listing says "reserve not met." Given that LEE 1 went for $110,000, if that 140k is a valid offer, my advice would be to take the money and run. ( that's just me though, cash in my hands has an effect on me.) The "Vance Duke" General Lee replica, which was a 68 Charger modified to look like the 69 model, appears to have sold for $25,100, pending acceptance by the seller. There's another orange clunker car on ebay (replica) going for $29,500. Not a numbers matching car, but a 440 motor and a....I dunno. some kinda transmission with a...whattayacallit. What's irritating on this baby is that the seller says he's "not interested in the car anymore."

John Schneider - Doonby The Movie
Brian Coltrane replied to Alex-Dukes's topic in John Schneider / Bo Duke
Got an update for you on the "Doonby" movie. Our secret seedy sources tell us that "Doonby" is scheduled for limited release on Feb 24. Make that a very limited release. Specifically, Dallas TX and parts of Mississippi. According to sources, the box office results in these markets will determine whether or not the film gets broader distribution. Note: as always, HazzardNet stands neutral on topics that could be hotly debated, such as the subject matter in this film. We are not being paid to promote it, and nor are we endorsing it, other than saying that John Schneider does a good job by the looks of the trailer. We're simply passing along the news, as always. -
Actually, it's "embrace your muse." But since your muse is more ornery, "obey" might be more fitting... ( I'm sure I'll pay for that comment in a future story... heh!)

Hoss is the master of filming locations, so his info on that is well worth the wait. But maybe I can help with the Knight Rider stuff. It's been a long time since I looked at my KR DVD set...can you tell me more about the episode that shows the Duke farm and Boar's Nest? I know KR and Dukes shared some filming locations, but again it's been awhile. If you don't know the Knight Rider ep name, but remember the basic plot, that could help me nail this down.

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
Brian Coltrane replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
Oh, that's a tough one. Umm...hmm. I know the area is outside of Atlanta, about 30 min or so. The Beaudry's are from TN, but I don't know how accurate the show was in geography. I also have to take a wild guess. I'd say maybe the Comfurts?- 3,817 replies
