But my interpretation of that, I'm thinking maybe that General Lee was placed there as a backup in case of a break down during the Hazzard Square chase scene with the tractor and mules. If the one the boys were driving around the square past the tractor and mules broke down, they could've stopped and swapped to that extra car to carry on.

I caught one in Season 2 Dukes Meet Cale Yarborough. When Rosco leaves the road block, and turns around comes back the other way. There's only him and Enos. They're the only Hazzard County cops. But an officer in a Hazzard County Police Department uniform moves the yellow road block barricade out of Rosco's way. Who is this mysterious Hazzard County Officer?
