It sounds like you have a good plan to fix the problem. I highly recommend Dukes DVDs for medicinal purposes. I think you'll be fine. When you have a string of bad luck things go your way that only means one thing. You are due for a string of good luck things to go your way. Let us know when that happens. This is the season for goodness after all.

That birthday thing is a strange coincidence. I hope you get it. I just found out that my nephew's baby is due on what would have been her (they already know it's a girl) great-grandmother's 100 th birthday. I hope it happens on that day....by the way it's also John Schneider's birthday...April 7.

Wife & I watched Smokey and the Bandit last night. 1st time she didn't gripe about me popping that movie in the dvd player, I was surprised it wasn't worn out as it's one of my favorite movies so it gets played a lot . I'll probably dig out Hooper and Stroker Ace

I think them Duke Boys may have finally robbed Boss' bank. Just take a look at the Lamborghini I saw at this year's Cannonball.

There were nearly 200 cars this year, including multiple Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis, McLarens and Mustangs. Many of those taking part were in fancy dress, and this time they included Chewbacca, Donald Trump and the Pope (complete with Popemobile). Despite all the expensive European automotive art on display, it was the '69 Mustang, '70 Charger and '70 Challenger that caught my eye. Even though it was red, the Challenger had "Drive Like Kowalski!" on the license plate .

Thank you Roger. Sadly I missed Chase Elliott's win, but I was so excited for him. Also missed Bristol last week...but did see that a fan tried getting into a fight with Kyle Busch. He was riding his golf cart to his hauler. He had stopped to sign a fan's autograph. Then got back on when another fan grabbed him or hit him in the chest. He got off and the security guards separated them. Saw the video of it and it just upsets me. The fans surrounding them and the one taking the video was cussing him out, booing him. Cheering on that fan that attacked him. I get that everyone has that one driver or more that they don't like or can't stand. I even get that Kyle Busch can rub fans the wrong way. For the longest time I couldn't stand watching him win and he irritated me with how drove and acted...but also am the first one to admit that he has changed and matured since he got married. Also am the first one to say, whether you love him or hate him, you got to respect and acknowledge his talent on the track and how he can win at any track and anything with a steering wheel. I also remember at a driver introduction a few years back where they introduced him and all the fans booed him...he didn't even do anything other than step onto the stage! As I said, I know that fans seem to always have a driver or two that they don't like (I even have my own...) but I don't agree with the booing him and definitely not attacking him like that. NASCAR is probably the one sport that allows fans down with the drivers (athletes) and fans like that is going to be the ones who will ruin that for everyone else. Not that, that will ever effect me, because I don't for see a NASCAR race in my future sadly, but still frustrating...
A lot of this is my opinion. Feel free to disregard it. I am not a Kyle Busch fan, but also have to respect his talent and what he can do on the track.
My two cents...for how little it is worth.

If a shop has had it for 2 weeks and can't figure out what's wrong it's time to find a new mechanic. Finding a decent honest mechanic these days isn't easy. The world could sure use a few more Cooter's in it instead of some of the scum that call themselves mechanics.

Wife and I cut our Sunday plans short so I could Install a new battery in a relatives car in 20 degree weather with windchills near zero yesterday because said relative didn't feel like waiting at the auto center for an hour or more for their mechanics to change it Saturday  . Would have been done taking the old one out and putting the new one in in half an hour if I didn't have to wait in checkout line at Walmart for 45+minutes, I kid you not it was over 45 minutes because some genius only scheduled one cashier to work the auto section yesterday  . Luckily got back in time just before sundown to put the new one in the car.

Here are some pictures I took with both General Lees I built.  The lighter orange GL is this one I just finished and the darker orange GL is the one I built last year.
This new one is painted 1975 Corvette Flame Red which was the main color used on the beauty cars on the show. The last one I built is Chevrolet Hugger Orange which is a darker, more red, looking orange.

Well, for a lot of us Yankees, DOH was our introduction to Southern-ness. I grew up north of Boston on the Massachusetts coast, to parents from the Dakotas, and until the show I had NEVER even HEARD words like "ain't," and "y'all" or things like grits or pralines. Probably was a bit of a help when I went to school in the Deep South (Louisiana Tech) and married into the culture. Definitely impacted my speech being down there and for some reason I swing between accents and speech patterns with relative ease.
Another funny thing on a related note; I ended up in the Southwest and amazingly became fluent in Spanish; I teach music in the barrios of South Tucson. When I was first introduced to the staff of my school I had the nerve to say I was tri-lingual, speaking English, Spanish and Southern English. Great ice-breaker

I doubt ABC had anything to do with it, it was most likely your local ABC affiliate that was going to air the Dukes as it was not scheduled to air on my local ABC affiliate.

I miss TNN as well though not for the country music, more for the weekend fishing shows and car shows and racing.

I don't think ANYONE liked it at all, except for the idiots who made and promoted it. It's horrible!!! Doesn't deserve the name "Duke."
I finally figured out how to explain the difference:
The Duke family on TV was 1) moral and decent, 2) respectful and respectable, 3) likeable and 4) law-abiding (not counting the corrupt local "law" and the speed limits).
The so-called "Duke" family in that film were 1) immoral, 2) disrespectful and disrespectable, 3) not likeable and 4) not law-abiding.
I don't know who they were, but as far as I'm concerned, the shameful folks in that film were NOT repeat NOT Dukes. It is an ABOMINATION!!!

It's a shame one moron can take a symbol and ruin it for everyone.  The Confederate Battle flag is just that, the flag the troops took into battle.  It's not the flag of the south as a lot of people refer to it.  As Roger Duke said, these progressives or what ever they are called aren't open minded at all.  It's their way or no way.  The General Lee was a car on a nice TV show that always had the Duke family come out on top as wholesome, kind and accepting of others.  But there's the battle flag on the car so the whole show must be bad!  I watch Hogan's Heroes and there are multiple swastikas in every episode yet somehow that's not offensive at all.  I don't get it.

I also watch Hogan's Heroes. I think the difference there is that the Nazis are portrayed as the bad guys, and are always the butt of the joke. Of course, the flag was ridiculed in the 2005 Dukes movie, but the less said about that the better.
