With as many Chargers that were used during the series I doubt any odometer readings were accurate that you could see in a camera shot. You gotta remember they used more than one car. It's not that easy to turn back the odometer on one either, you have to tear the entire instrument cluster out and remove the speedo gauge itself and tear it somewhat apart,on top of that it's technically illegal to do that.

All I gotta do is open my garage door to see a General Lee. LOL

01,General Lee,and the flag cannot be copyrighted by themselves. 01 is just a number and General Lee is just a name of a famous General. All of them combined on a 69 Dodge Charger is when the trademark comes into play a combination of all the elements. Even then it is your car and you can do with it pretty much as you please. There are guys with replica General Lees actually charging money to do like birthday parties, graduation, weddings and WB is turning a blind eye to all of that as long as they are not claiming their particular car as a true TV or Movie survivor they can get away with that even though it is technically violating the trademark. WB could care less unless you are blatantly making tons of cash.A guy I know has spoken to a WB lawyer and he said make what money you want with a replica to a point as long as nobody gets hurt or killed by doing something stupid like stunts. Then WB would step in just to cover their arse from being sued.

Yes I have it on VHS. It was on TV a number of years ago and I taped it. If you notice at the very beginning the bar that Grady and Bobby Lee go into where Bobby is gonna play with the band is called The Boars Nest.

Moonrunners is what The Dukes of Hazzard is "Loosely" based upon. It was made in 1975. Gy Waldron was in charge of that movie as well as the Dukes. They used some of the character names from this movie and transposed them into Dukes.

As I recall I warned everyone about both of the newer movies before they were released.I was right along with Ben Jones saying boycott but nobody seemed to pay attention. I can say now I told you so.Only very few who post on here actually liked the first one. Jimmy is absolutely correct in saying WB or Hollywood in general love the weak willed. As long as it had Dukes of Hazzard in the title most of you were duped into going to see it.I knew just from the trailer and how it was cast it was going to be bad. Now we have heard from another original cast member about how they feel they tarnished all their hard work for 7 seasons.

Happy 55th Catherine and I turned 45 on the 28th!!

I'll never get the common misconception that the General Lee was Hemi powered.I understand they depicted that in the movie but this misconception was around way before the movie came out. They never used a Hemi car on the series. Hemis while yes they are an impressive motor, it takes great know how to get one to run like it is supposed to run. For a LOT less money you can build a 440 to run just as well if not better with much less tweaking as a Hemi and if it breaks it is a bunch cheaper to fix.

Happy 30TH Dukes. I was 14 when it first aired man where did the time go? LOL

The one near Pigeon Forge as mentioned will be the only thing close to a "Dukesfest" this year. I personally favor the idea of regional Dukesfest myself. You know by June gas will be back to 3$ a gallon or more don't be fooled by it being within reason now. You're actually getting gouged worse now. It's 1.80 here and a barrel of oil is down to 33$. That means we should only be paying about 1.40 or less actually. Regional events would make it easier for those on a tight budget so you won't put all your money in the gas tank. Even Pigeon Forge area is too far for me and it's about a 9 hr drive roughly. Your average General Lee probably only averages 15 mpg if your lucky.

Can't answer that either. She did at Indianapolis the one time I went to see her so I assume it's possible however this also severly slows down the line. I would say you will have to snap a quickie while you are up there with your own camera and I'm not sure how she is with flash photography either. I know James Best has a NO Flash pictures allowed policy. So bring a real good camera that will take good photos with no flash to be on the safe side. -

Don't quote me on this cause I'm not positive. I believe admission is like 12-15 $. Parking I can't tell you it varies. If you make a trip to Summit Racing I believe they are selling discount admission tickets in advance at least they did last year. As far as what Catherine charges is unknown. From past experiences with her she's usually pretty reasonable. If you buy one thing from her she will usually sign anything else you brought for free within reason of course.I've seen people take advantage of this in the past especially John Schneider.I've seen fans bring like umpteen things for him to sign and slow down the line for everyone else.So people show some courtesy to others in line. I do expect a VERY long line especially since this is her first appearance in this area and I've spread the word on most of the Dukes boards. I waited 6 hours at Dukesfest one year just for her. She is originally from this area as well as she was born in Warren. It's also almost to the day that the 30th Anniversary of the first Dukes episode was aired. -
Both were good the first one is by far the better. Both were severly under budgeted which is sad, if you are gonna do something do it full scale. WB was too cheap to get Waylon to do the balladeering.

Who owns a General Lee besides me???
TimDuke replied to GeneralLeeOwner's topic in Introduce Yourself
I was just going by his original post. It implies a FULL size car. Yes it is possible for a minor to own a car I looked it up it differs from state to state. However his parents had to co-sign for it regardless of what state it won't be fully his until 18. Made "friends" with the local sheriff implies he drove it and got busted. I noticed the quote marks around friends which means to me a negative impression. I don't know I still don't believe it and if anybody here does I got some real cheap Tennessee beachfront property to sell you. -
Yes,it was filmed in GA. I've been to the same store where they buy the pickled peaches.

TimDuke replied to GeneralLeeOwner's topic in Introduce Yourself
Agreed. Even "IF" his daddy bought one for him the fact remains he cannot legally be driving it. He has implied that he has been driving it.NOPE don't believe it.He hasn't responded to his original post or any of us so let us call a spade a spade or a liar a liar.If he posts multiple pics as dukefan pointed out of the car, him inside it, pics of the registration.I'll gladly eat a bunch of crow and apologize. I don't think you can even legally own a car if you are a minor in most states someone correct me if I'm wrong. I believe that a title is technically a legal contract and minors can't enter into legal contracts. In fact I do seem to recall that when I was 17 My dad had to put the car in his name until I turned 18 even though I paid the money for it. -

Not necessarily dukefan. I'm thinking about selling mine and I would consider a 15,000 offer. Not selling unless I absolutely have to though. -

IF he bought one. More like his daddy bought it for him.I'm not believing that story either. He'd had to save every penny since day one to afford a real car or like I said his family is loaded with money. Being 13 he can't drive it anyway not legally.Minimum age is 15 and a half most states and that's with a learners permit. Post some legitimate pictures then we might believe you. I bought mine at 17 but that was 28 years ago and I worked for the money. In fact my avatar is right after it was painted in 1982. Even a badly done replica will run you at least 10,000$.I don't know too many average 13 year olds have that kind of money. -

I must make a retraction and an apology to my previous post. I got my story not quite straight. Ray had agreed to not sell stuff while James was there last year. So it was NOT the car shows promoters fault that he missed out on making some money.I whole heartedly apologize for taking something I witnessed out of context. Yes Ray is doing the show again this year as I spoke to him recently. It's too difficult for me to do it anyway as explained before, unknown weather conditions and where the car is currently stored. Ray said his car took some road salt related damage to some chrome pieces(that's the chance you take) and he flatbed trailered it there and back. -

From Cleveland to Canton is a good hour drive maybe a touch over depending on which side of Cleveland he is. Ray Kohn my best friend did it last year but they sort of made him mad last year. He had a verbal agreement before the event that he could sell any merchandise while he was there then they changed that at the last minute. He wasn't allowed to sell anything while James Best was there so it probably cost him a pretty good chunk of potential change at the prime time to do so. So I'm sure IF he does it this year he' gonna get a written agreement so they can't renege on him again. He was pretty upset though so it's hard to say. There is a guy that has one in Canton so he is by far the closest other than me.I'd be second closest but mine is down in my dads extra storage building so if it snows a big time snow it'd be nearly impossible to get it out. Oh and she is only there on Saturday times have been posted in my earlier post.
