That is true dukefan1 but he wants the real deal. I think he'll have to settle on a replica though. A real one is probably out of anyones price range.

The move to Atlanta was supposed to be FOR the fans. That's where Dukes started.Atlanta,Conyers,Covington areas. It was held there for the 30th anniversary so fans could go see all the original filming locations and so forth. When this was first announced they didn't expect 4.15 a gallon gas along with everything else going up. You can't change plans at the last minute for an event this big once it's set. Agreed Adam West was bad choice. You can't please everyone or control the economy or control how well you are received at a certain city. This maybe the last one as far as a castmember sponsoring it. If you think you can do a better job, go for it. Then you can deal with all the headaches organizing an event this big with people complaining on this person should be there or that person shouldn't,what to do with all the Hazzard vehicles, ect. list goes on and on. Until then be grateful there even is an event like this.

concrete,Welcome to Hazzardnet. What do you mean by "original"? Do you mean one used on the TV series or one used in the 2 recent movie versions? To me the only "original" ones are the TV series survivors. I don't count the movie ones as "REAL" or "ORIGINAL" even though most of the other guys do. To me if it wasn't used by the actual original TV cast then it's just a replica even though they were built by Warner Brothers. I don't know of any TV series survivors for sale at the present time except LEE 1 and perhaps LEE 33 which is here in Ohio. LEE 1 was supposed to go up for auction last I knew. It is basically just a replica now.A whole new car built around the partial remains of the actual car. Even at that LEE 1 will probably go for close to a million at auction. LEE 33 here in Ohio was for sale about 8-9 months ago and he was asking 150,000. So unless you have very deep pockets you might as well forget a TV series LEE. Now if you're willing to settle on a movie used one they do pop up from time to time on E-bay but most of these come with NO documentation meaning you can't prove it was ever used in the movie or not and they aren't all that cheap either. Warning on IF you ever buy a TV series survivor. ALL but 6 of them are contracted by WB,meaning you are VERY restricted as far as its use. You can't advertise it being anywhere or use it in any manner to make money.

MASON KID hate to dissapoint you but that isn't one fron the show. Rims are the dead give away along with the numbers are way off. Looks like it possibly could be a General Lee Enterprise car but more than likely a very early replica. I believe all the General Lee Enterpise cars had correct rims on them. General Lee Enterprise cars were built for WB but never were used in filming the TV show. They were used at all the Autoramas and World of Wheels shows back in the mid 80's early 90's. They built like 10 or 11 of them but they aren't considered "REAL" General Lees.

I have just learned of a recent interview with John Schneider. They were discussing the uproar about the Confederate flag and in the interview he said they are going to do their part and the flags will be covered on the cars with a magnet or something.I'll post the links hope it's ok. I hope he was joking around but he sounds serious. We at the CGLFC are trying to get official word about this interview from John himself. AGAIN THIS IS JUST RUMOR AT THIS POINT.However,IF it is indeed confirmed that the flags must be covered I will strongly say we all should boycott Dukesfest. Here is the links it is in 2 parts http://s115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/BauerCTU_2006/?action=view¤t=RedEye_FNC_02_06_2008_01_57_41.flv part 2 http://s115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/BauerCTU_2006/?action=view¤t=TheStrategyRoom_FNC_02_06_2008_01_5.flv

Sequel Ideas for a Third Dukes of Hazzard Movie
TimDuke replied to Julieduke's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
I don't think it's gonna happen. WB has auctioned of all the vehicles needed to do a major production. However to do it right Danny Devito has gotta be Boss Hogg. I think he would be perfect but WB has proven twice they just don't care what most of us think or how to do it right. The Beginning cast was ok except the above mentioned. Just portray the characters close to the way they were. Get rid of the bad language and the overly done sex and drug stuff, get the original cast involved in some manner as in cameos or in the production aspect. You'd probably have a winner. WB should just leave well enough alone and let the Dukes live on in the 7 seasons on DVD. -

I have one final thought on this whole thing. After speaking with the web designer of Dukesfest. The cast were always confirmed even though the language said might at one point. He pointed out to me that if someone wasn't committed to come why would he even bother advertising them to begin with . He apologized for any kind of mix up there may have been. -

Denver was older in real life by ten years. They always implied they were close to the same age on the show as they ran shine together I don't think they ever said definitely which was older of the 2 in the series I always assumed Jessie was older.- 3,817 replies

Umm this was covered in the other 4x4 thread. It was Arrest Jessie Duke. They modify General Lee to sit up higher to go off road but it was still only 2 wheel drive. About half way through season 2.

TimDuke replied to mark00074's topic in The General Lee
In "Arrest Jesse Duke" they modify the General to set up higher to go offroad. However it wasn't true 4X4 as in 4 wheel drive it was still 2 wheel drive. -
Who Here On Hazzardnet Owns A General Lee?
TimDuke replied to traintownofcowee's topic in The General Lee
I know it's not the correct color interior but I prefer black.I think black looks better myself on top of I can't afford to convert it over to tan. I drive it as often as money allows. -

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/07/general-lee-no-1-to-appear-in-aprils-dupont-registry/ Why do I call it replica you may ask? Because to me that's basically all it is. You can read my posts and a guy named Dons post on there. It explains why we feel this way. It's a replica with just a very small percentage of it being the actual remnants of the actual car.

Holy General Lee! Batman At Dukesfest!
TimDuke replied to TimDuke's topic in DukesFest & Other Events
Darrell I'm not about to get into it about a statement you took out of context and get this topic off track again. Let us just say the car guys are more into the little details of all the vehicles, which interior color is the correct one, stuff like that and not so much details of the show itself.Where as the fans here are into the show as a whole is the best way to explain the difference. -
Holy General Lee! Batman At Dukesfest!
TimDuke replied to TimDuke's topic in DukesFest & Other Events
I'm sorry guys but I get VERY defensive about us replica owners and will defend them to the last since I'm one of the few that come to this board. Perhaps I was a bit hasty with a poll but when AlexJackson started sorta implying bad vibes towards us car guys I went in defensive mode and got a bit upset. It's in the Schneiders ballpark how they are promoting Dukesfest. He's never done something like this before so I say cut him a little slack. He'll learn from mistakes just like Ben did. I didn't intend on starting a pi--ing match between the car guys and the average fans . The thread just sorta headed that way. Ok back on topic. -
Holy General Lee! Batman At Dukesfest!
TimDuke replied to TimDuke's topic in DukesFest & Other Events
Ok Whoa,Whoa.Stop right there. Don't even go there.Don't start dissing the car guys or you'll have all those guys coming here to defend themselves. I'll see to it that happens because I am one. I was just making a point it list the cast on the car registration form to show that yes indeed they are gonna show. They are having a lottery to have X number of cars guaranteed to get signed. The cars with zero signatures are getting the first pick in the lottery. Us car owners had to complain for 5-6 years before anything was done about getting signatures on our cars. I know that there are some of you who may feel the replica owners should get no special treatment. However consider this. It was due to Wayne Wooten and his Dodge Charger registry along with Aneeshs Dukes club to start having conventions. Wayne even coined the phrase Dukesfest before it was called that.I believe it was due to Ben seeing all those General Lees at the 99 convention that gave him the incentive to do Dukesfest and it was with the help of another General Lee club that made that happen. So if it weren't for us replica guys Dukesfest may not even exist. You may disagree but I have made very good points. I'll think I'll start a poll seeing how many fans would still attend if there were no General Lees or police cars there. If the poll shows they still would go then I'll relay that to the car club and save all those guys a ton of money since fans don't care if they are there or not.
