  1. The anti-movie people could say the same thing about you pro-movie people.Maybe we are tired of the constant support of it so you could leave that at the door as well.Tit for tat.The point is we have our own opinions on the subject. We can probably think of as many reasons not to support as you can to support it. Just respect each others opinions. There maybe no right or wrong to either side. Why don't we just drop it here and move on.
  2. I will accept the apology but for future reference it is not wise to suggest someone or group to leave because you consider their opinion to be whining or moaning in your opinion. Not a way to promote new or current membership. I've been here since 2001 and didn't want to leave.
  3. Could be another sign of no sequel.Clearly it has some re-usable parts on it why would the studio get rid of a car they could re-use some of the parts especially the rims which are very hard to find. Back when the TV series was on they re-used anything they could.
  4. Apparently we can't have a discussion on here without getting called childish or asinine merely because some of us support a certain point of view.Brian and Muffin I'm sorry I'm not going to sit idly by and get insulted simply because I don't agree with someone. As I said previously if we hadn't boycotted the King of England there would be no USA or if the South didn't boycott against the North there would be no General Lee.I feel I deserve an apology.I think I shall remove myself from this site as Cpt Redneck suggested and go somewhere where even though I may disagree my opinion gets respected.
  5. Cpt.Redneck you say the consensus of most people wanted the movie to be more like the TV show. You are saying that I'm correct then.Consensus means majority.I'm not saying I wanted a carbon copy of the show but a sorta compromise between what they did and the show.Vulgar language has no place in any kind of Dukes movie.Damn and jackass were the worst ever uttered on Dukes also the drug innuendo totally uncalled for.By the way PG movies make more money than PG-13 ones do and G movies make even more statistics show this. You liked the movie you have a right to you're opinion. The general consensus agrees with me.We can disagree and still be friends though. Tzi simply because some of us want to boycott gives you no right to call us childish it is not childish to stand up for a certain cause.Name calling or labeling people is childish. Didn't we boycott against the King of England back in 1776 ? I suppose that was childish too.
  6. I'll start out by saying I disagree with most of your post buikman.Apparently you've never been to cglfc.com.Go there and check out Club Generals Bubba Williams car it fits almost all your criteria and you are incorrect about wheel well molding LEE 1 didn't have it which is the General to which you are referring.Go watch the episode on DVD. I assume you have the DVD? I can explain why the Generals from then on didn't have the aluminum rocker molding on them like LEE 1 and if they did have it was painted over to maintain consistency also that was a very rare option on a 69 Charger which mine has. That's basically why the crossed flags were removed also. One less detail to replicate on every General and to maintain consistency. Most guys that have Generals have families also and a full roll cage means no back seat which makes it inconvenient to carry more than 2 people. Here is My General. I just prefer the later pushbars myself and I haven't removed the wheel molding or added a roll bar yet..
  7. I'll support your boycott of the DVD Cedar Creek.I totally agree with you unless IF they make a sequel all the bad elements are removed. Yes I believe if the movie were more older fan friendly and maybe not a carbon copy but at least similar to the original it would have made alot more than it did in my opinion. It would have made at least 20 bucks more off me if it would have been and I'm sure I'm not the only one. The way it appears I don't think there will be a sequel not in the near future now that Seann and Johhny have both expressed no interest and I read Jessica has ballooned up 30 pounds since the filming so she must not be planning on a sequel either.
  8. This may have been said but I'll say it again. In a way I think this was a way for WB to say "We apologize for the movie." by making this Smallville episode.
  9. The pushbars aren't a specific type, neither were the rollbars. They were custom made by WB.So there is no place to actually buy them if thats what your asking. Now there are guys specially making these. Go to cglfc.com and join then post on their message board.Someone there should be able to help you out.Might want to try buildagenerallee.com too.
  10. Sorry Beauregard,Lee 1 was NOT Hemi Orange re-read my post.Don Shisler was in charge of the Georgia Lee's and he told me the color.I don't know where you got you're info but mine comes from the horses mouth. As I stated WB had a company build Generals for them for a period of time instead of WB doing it themselves and that company did apparently use Hemi or Hugger or a special mixture of the two whatever was handy. Then WB went back to building them and Flame Red was used till the end definetly the last 3 seasons so Flame Red was used probably used 75% of the time. If you are building a General and want correctness go with Flame Red.
  11. Ok here it goes first you have to upload your pics to a website.Don't use a Yahoo site cause they won't allow linking to them. Once you have uploaded the pics to a site right click on the pic select properties. Copy the HTML code on the pic. Now see the Img icon when you post, click on it.Now paste the HTML code next to the Img. Preview your post to make sure it worked. It sounds more difficult than it is. Alot of people use Fotaki to host uploaded pics and its free.
  12. Lizey calling people names shows how intelligent you are. People read my post. According to Don Shisler who was in charge of the Generals in Georgia personally told me at Dukesfest 01 the color is 75 Corvette "Flame Red" or also called "Orange Flame". Tom Sarmento who built Generals for the show also confirms this color was used during the last 3 seasons of Dukes. Now there was a short period of time when the Generals were built buy a company that WB hired and from what I've learned it is not clear exactly the color they used.I've heard HEMI and Hugger also what ever they had handy but again this occurred during maybe a season or 2. Mostly though it was the "Flame Red" used. Lizey by the way I have a General Lee also and it is "Flame Red". I think the guys who built them or in charge should know don't you?
  13. I totally agree take out the drugs and the four letter foul language, tone down the sex innuendo and make the characters more like the show and you've got a winner. A recast wouldn't hurt anything at this point after the first mockery.
  14. The color is 1975 Corvette "Flame Red" or also known as "Orange Flame" Trust me on this cause I have a replica and I've talked to some of the guys that actually built them for TV. Here is the code,DuPont 1975 Flame Red 43462K code 70 or PPG Deltron Acrylic Urethane(DAV2764) C-70-WA-4667 They used this definetly during the last 3 seasons on Dukes and on the Georgia episodes cars.
  15. Yep thats the place.Warning be very careful about that place.Ive heard nothing but bad from them. They buy junk Chargers cheap slap a bunch of bondo on,then put a decent paint job and General Lee stuff on and sell for big profit.
  16. HEMI orange was NOT used in the first five episodes. It was 1975 Corvette "Flame Red" and this comes from Don Schisler(spelling?) he was in charge of the Generals during the filming in Georgia. This color was also definitely used during the last 3 seasons also. Look kid I'm just giving you good advise. You're calling the 06 a classic? Don't think so. They aren't selling well. I've maybe only seen 2 or 3 actually on the road. I think they are ugly(my opinion) and look even worse with General Lee paint scheme.I've heard rumors that they are going to re-design them for next year to make them look more like the 68-70 as said rumor. I'm just trying to advise you on getting the most out of your investment. 68 -70 definitely gonna retain or gain value the 06 highly doubtful. I guess you've made your mind up to go 06,it's your money. Just be prepared to receive more criticism than praise as you drive your 06 General Lee. Why do you think they stayed with a 69 instead of the new for the movie? Cause hardly anyone would have gone to see it if they went new. Here is my General and it is Corvette Flame Red.
  17. Don't get the 2006 Charger and waste putting on all the paint, graphics, pushbar or anything else. By the time you save for the 2006 they will be a few years old and the factory doesn't keep parts around as long as they used to so parts wise it won't be a whole lot cheaper for 2006 than a 68-70. For the money get a 69 already made into a General. The prices seemed to have stabilized now and you can get a fully done General around 20-30k sometimes less.Just stay away from any General that came from a General Lee place in Illinois, do research on any car. By the way,HEMI orange is NOT the correct color for the General. 1975 Corvette "Flame Red" is.
  18. If you're gonna spend 30K on a 2006 why not spend that for a 1969? The 69 will always be worth 30K if properly taken care of if not more in 10 or 20 years. I guarantee that a 2006 in ten years will not be worth 30K no matter how well its maintained.
  19. There are none in that river that story is a bogus rumor.
  20. Here is Ben Jones and I by my General at the Cleveland Autorama 2004
  21. Revive the series with the original actors? Not likely.Tom Wopat has expressed numerous times he has no interest in doing that again or even a 3rd reunion. Revive it with current movie actors? Forget it. I wouldn't watch that garbage especially after that mockery of a movie.Could it happen with the movie actors? Not likely either. It would be too costly now.Let alone the actors wanting big $$,as stated before 69 Chargers are far too hard to come by.Sure minor stunts could be done but jumps? You'd have to use fakery to do it. Either use miniatures like in the last season(looks too fake) or use CGI(very costly and can still tell it's fake) or digitally enhance the old stock footage which would be almost as costly as CGI and die hards would be turned off saying "Hey I saw that jump before in such and such episode" So it probably ain't gonna happen. The only other alternative to make it more cost effective is to totally change the car and then you'd lose all the fanbase cause hardly anyone will accept the General Lee as any other car and the new Chargers are as expensive as 69 Chargers only the parts would be easy to get.
  22. To convert a 70 to a 69 you need a 69 hood, fenders, grill, bumper. Then on the quarters the side markers are lights ,not reflectors like on a 69 so you'd have to fill them in or try and convert them for a 69 reflector. Also expect to pay lots of money for any 68-70 Charger now even for a bad shape one. Here is my General.
  23. Well I'm 41 one of the old dogs around. I was 15 when Dukes first aired. Now I'm a fanatic of the TV Dukes not the imposters on the movie screen. Now going by the definition of the word fanatic,a fanatic is by no means Open minded go look it up in the dictionary. Having said that,I saw the movie and no I didn't pay to see it nor did I use the free ticket from the DVD, and no one paid my way,you figure it out how I saw it.I watched expecting the worst and thats exactly what I got. Everyone keeps saying "Dont compare it to the TV version" or "It's not that far different from the five Georgia episodes." I'm sorry but 140 other episodes were the Dukes to me not that I don't like the fab 5 as some call those episodes. Another excuse everyone is using is it's 2005 not 1979 and using numbers is just lame. Just a case on how sad society has become. Moral values have gone and yes I know Bo and Luke broke the law all the time but were allways cleared. Anyone who took very young children to see the movie remember the next time your kid comes up and says G-d da-- you or other foul language, you better not say a thing or punish them because they are gonna say"Bo and Luke said that in the movie so it's ok" The only good in the movie was General Lee and the stunts and thats it.
  24. I heard through the grapevine that 2005 was supposedly the last Dukesfest as far as Ben was concerned he said it was getting to be too much hassle and strain on him. But it asks on his website if you want to to it next year so maybe he's reconsidered or maybe since CMT co-sponsored this years fest they maybe gonna take the whole thing over and Ben is just gonna be a guest.
