All my dad wanted for Father's Day was two pairs of shorts. He's simple to buy gifts for. Sometimes I just slip him some money, because he doesn't know what to get. I'm that way too on my birthday and at Christmas time. Like father like son, I guess. That's probably the ONLY thing similar between him and me.

Why are people so hard on Coy and Vance?
Eddiemunster replied to LuvJessInDaisyDukes's topic in General Discussion
I still enjoy watching the Dukes, no matter if it's Bo& Luke, or Coy & Vance. Heck, I even enjoy watching ol' Sherriff Brady Bird!!! It doesn't really matter with me, it's still DOH to me. -
I just purchased this movie spontaniously, without ever seing it before. I found it in the Sci-Fi section, but I am not sure if it really is Sci-Fi. In fact, I'm not sure what I'd file it under. It's about this cab driver in Chicago (who throughout the movie remains nameless, just called by his passengers as "Driver"). It's the longest night of the year, Dec. 21st and has to work all day. It's just a day in the life of just about any cab driver, picking up a variety of characters who hassle him on just about anything. Just watching this driver and how he reacts to some of these personalities are truly hillarious at times. After watching this movie twice now, I realize this character has a lot of similar thought patterns and actions that I would have done if it was me. Of course, I'm not a cab driver, and do not intend to be. But I was able to relate to this character in how he handled himself in certain situations. Has anyone here ever seen a character in a movie or show that truly relates to how you are?

Yes, I'm sure they are good people. I'm sure they knew they were going to get some flack for being "clones", but they dove right into the roles. They stuck with it for a whole year (season). That's what made them good people. They knew what had to be done, and did their best at it. -

I personally think that it's not fair to degrade Christopher Mayer and Byron Cherry for their roles in the Dukes. Hey, there was a dispute between WB and Tom & John, the show had to go on, and Chris & Byron needed an acting job to pay their bills. Sure, they weren't as good as Bo & Luke, but they got the show through another season while things worked out with WB and Bo & Luke. I think that's the idea that people miss. They don't realize what they did for the show, so us fans can still have something to watch. Byron and Chris kept the boat afloat while they were getting mocked out for being "Clones." If Tom Wopat is still holding something against Byron and Chris, then obviously he missed the point. If it wasn't for these clones, Tom and John wouldn't have seen a job for season six and seven, and we also wouldn't have seen them. Give the clones a break. -
The Salvation Army? Actually, I really don't know. Maybe you can get them custom made by a local tailor.

what movie has been filmed in your town other then Hollywood
Eddiemunster replied to dukesran1's topic in Movies
BTW, my very first outing to a baseball game was there at the Rockpile. I think I actually saw the Bisons play 3 or 4 times there. The Rockpile will always be missed by Buffalonians. Hey, at least a movie was filmed there, and a great one, too!!! -

So far, I only know of one: The Natural, starring Robert Redford. It was filmed in Buffalo, NY. The stadium was known to us as "The Rockpile." Sorry to say, that baseball stadium has been torn down years ago. But, there is a monument on that property now. The baseball field was home to Buffalo's minor league team, The Buffalo Bisons. In 1988/89, there was a new field built in downtown Buffalo, originally called Pilot Field, now known as Dunn Tire Stadium. The Rockpile, which was on the East Side of Buffalo (The Hood of Buffalo), wasn't a great place to bring young kids to see a game. But, IMHO, neither is the Downtown Section. -

Aren't they already out? I thought I saw them.

Ever ask a seriously overweight person for directions? "Make a left at the McDonalds, go right at Burger King, go past Taco Bell......etc."

Is the world record of how many pieces flew off the car, or how many injuries the stunt driver got upon landing? I actually wonder if the stunt drivers ever got injured doing a jump, either on the t.v. show or the reunion movies?

How about adding the '68 Mustang GT from Bullitt, and Herbie in Row 6?

If it was for the full seven, somethings like this , them leaving the county and not getting busted coming back, would be one of the many things that don't seem realistic in a t.v. show. Another great example of this would be the General Lee immune to being wrecked jump after jump after jump....etc. Things like this I don't really worry about. I know that almost anything I see on a fictional t.v. show is just fiction, and not in reality. I just enjoy the show for what it is, and try not to worry too much if such events don't quite make sense.

You know your car is old when you take it to the service station, the mechanic gets the thing on the lift, and it doesn't even make it halfway up without the rotten frame snapping in half down the length of the car. My friend's dad did this about a week after he bought it. It was a 1968 Chevy Impala. I think it was back in the eighties when that happened. I could just see it now: "Uh, I think your frame is bad. You want me to fix that, too? I'll put it on your tab."

I'd rather have Bo driving. Luke is pretty darn funny when making sarcastic comments to Bo's driving!

How long is probation for running shine? They were on probation for the whole 7 year run, right?

You should've then told him to stay away from your girlfriend and there will be no need to call the cops. -
I'm also into Sci-Fi. Remember the TV series " V", with those lizards from outer space? I've seen it out on DVD, so when I get extra $$$$...... 8)

Yeah, but how long can she keep them that way before she finally blows up like a fat pig and split the seam in the back of the shorts? -
Or, you remember when it was new, gas prices were just reaching 33 cents per gallon!!!

I'm open to anything but Rap and Pop music/Teenie-Bopper music.

Jeff Foxworthy would probably take credit for it, and not pay me any royalties. Since I could use the money, I'll just let him actually "work" by thinking it up by himself!!!

I met Jimmy Best when I was 5 years old. I would say it was a good experience, but he had a long line of other kids to do autographs for. I don't know what happened to that autograph, but I still have the picture of me standing next to the General Lee that was taken right after meeting Roscoe. Every time I open my toolbox, there it is: me with a s--- eating grin next to my dream car!!!
