  1. I think White Lightning was much better than than the sequil, Gator. I think it's a cooler story, and all those Ford LTD's in the chase scenes. (especially the one Burt Reynolds drove with the 429 and 4 speed manual. ) Gator wasn't a bad movie, but I think it wasn't as good as White Lightning. It just didn't impress me much. I chose White Lightning on the cover first. After seeing Burt on the cover with a shotgun, I thought this would be a good movie! Then, I read the back about car chase scenes. That's when I whipped out my cash.
  2. As for number 19, you surely mean to pour yourself a glass of Wild Turkey?
  3. Since we're on the topic of nit-picking different models, I'd like to do my nit-picking. Why does it seem that these model companies always assume the General had a 426 Hemi? I understand that engine has respect as "King Of The Muscle Car Engines", but the General should actually be the 440, right? Also, with a 727 Torqueflight Automatic transmission, if I stand correct.
  4. As for the Black Cherry, I would think it won't really show up too well on the TV screen. But it would be cool if you saw it up close in person. I also thought of this custom paint job I once saw on a Corvette. It was black with this flame job that changed color in the sunlight and at different angles. It looked awesome while turning a corner!!! But, I also think it might be too much to look at.
  5. I would love to see some pictures of your collection of diecast models. If you can, please post them! My dad knows someone who has a room full of Tinkertoys and such. I could spend hours just looking at them. He even has a couple of Matchbox Car General Lee's.
  6. In my opinion, the only time a Dodge Charger lost a race to a 1968 Ford Mustang so far has to be the chase scene in the movie Bullitt. That of course is because of Steve McQueen driving the Mustang, and the Duke Boys were still being potty trained when that movie came out!!!
  7. What are you getting next?
  8. I'm not saying that my craftmanship is shaddy, it's just that this company is not ass-backwards, it's back-asswards. Everybody has an opinion about what is a passable part or not. I've got everybody telling me what to keep or throw out. And as to Delphi, in which who we supply, no one knows what's going on with them. They've got their own problems to deal with.
  9. I'd vote for General Lee, only because it can't speak. KITT can be accused of lying under oath.
  10. MaryAnne, Do not attempt going near the 110 mph mark with your Saturn. At some point, your radiator will bust!!! Trust me. I work at the plastic injection molding factory that makes the two plastic tanks on both sides of it. They're not meant to take the abuse!!! Plus, you do have a chance they were made by me!!!
  11. Aren't computers a wonderfull way of life?
  12. I voted. Kerry didn't win, but I also don't think I really like him anyway. Either or, I feel that both aren't really trustworthy. I just went for who I felt was less of two evils. Too bad my vote doesn't really count because of the Electoral College. I would love to vote for someone who can't be "Bought Out." Then, if I wasn't so serious, I'd vote for Mickey Mouse. Oh, well. I did my duty as an American and voted. I hope Bush has a better term this time.
  13. Do you mean that because of your faulty mishap, Ralph Nader has that much more of a chance to be elected? Oh shoot, now we're in trouble! Shame on you!
  14. I share a birthday with the late Cliff Burton, who was the bass player in Metallica until his untimely death in 1986. We both share a B-day on February 10th. He was 14 years older than me. I was born in 1976, and he was born in 1962. Other than him, I don't really know anyone else famous born on that day.
  15. I know the song, and I remember some of that video. Honestly, I thought the singer reminded me of George Thorogood. Somewhat.
  16. Great idea!!! What's the material of the top made out of? I know some one who used four Corvette rims and a custom cut piece of glass for a table.
  17. I have a friend who had a similar situation. He was away at school, and had an apartment by himself. He was about seven hours away from his friends and family. He would call me and another friend of ours, for no other reason than he was lonely and severely homesick. He once told me that he drank a whole bottle of cough syrup. I would think the point would be is that in order to keep a well being, you absolutely must have a fair amount of good friends and a caring family. The more you spend quality time with good people, the more it is good for your soul. This is why it is always a great idea to meet new people. Hey, you never know when you're going to need them for good company. Trust me, you'd be surprised what a good friend could do to uplift your spirit and defray you from thinking about suicide. Suicide is the cheater's way out. Don't ever be a cheater. Good luck and Cheers!
  18. Here's a car that might be a decent starter project for you: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2495654259&category=6199 Kind of in rough shape, but it is a 1969 Charger, with Orange paint.
  19. Welcome!!! I wish you luck at finding a 1969 Dodge Charger to do your project with. As you probably know, those go for a lot of money. If you want to do an exact copy, I've heard that the General should be: 1969 Dodge Charger R/T 440 c.i.d. Super Commando engine 750 CFM Holley 4-barrell double-pumper carburator 727 Torqueflight Transmission I'm not sure on the exact name of the Orange paint. Maybe Competition Orange. Or maybe Chrysler Orange. The roll cage and push bar can be custom made. I've thought about doing this briefly, and the cost would be totally forbidden for my checkbook!!! Good luck, and welcome.
  20. Yes, I forgot, I also have the first game for the Playstation 1. I have all the levels saved on a memory card. I'll soon have the game that's out for XBox.
  21. The last time I saw a replica General was a couple of years ago at a car show. It wasn't a very great one, but at least we have someone up here in New York who has one to show off. This one is a 1970 Charger with a 318. I can't remember if it did have a Dixie horn or not.
  22. No Bar Room? Do you mean there's not going to be a Boar's Nest? There has to be a Boar's Nest. That was part of the show.
  23. They'll screw it up by having Justin Timberlake singing the theme song. They'll also have Limp Bizkit, Linken Park, Korn, etc. Just kidding!
  24. I don't see many of those cars where I live. We use too much salt on the roads during the winter months. When people here see a car like that, they automaticlly think it's only good for a demo-derby car. I hate such ignorance. I should someday move somewhere south, where more people appreciate cool cars, and they last longer as well.
  25. That's a really cool car. I don't know which looks better, the car or your girlfriend!!! Too bad you had to sell that car.
