  1. I'm just back from a couple of days in Connemara - a scenic region in Co. Galway on the Atlantic west coast of Ireland. I went as part of a group, and we all had a very enjoyable trip despite the miserable weather yesterday. The area is part of a Gaeltacht - a region where Irish is the first language, and very few of the road signs are in English, although everyone speaks English. Last night several of us went for a drink at the nearby Hooker Bar, but don't worry, the pub is over 200 years old and is named after the Galway hooker - a traditional fishing boat used in Galway Bay.
  2. Custard I had apple pie and custard this afternoon.
  3. I've pretty much answered this question in the Bloopers thread. The narrow push bar was an off-the-shelf part for pickup trucks and was only welded to the bumper. The wider push bar was custom-made and welded to the chassis making it much stronger. If you click the link you'll see where one of the narrow push bars fell off at the start of 'My Son, Bo Hogg'.
  4. They don't even use the same car throughout 'Twin Trouble' - at least two different cars are used if you compare the front corner lights. It's probably safe to say that the car that was rolled wasn't used again. I think all of the cars in question are 1967 Chevy 4-door sedans. I'm surprised that you didn't spot another blue 1967 Chevy 4-door sedan being driven by Mary Lou Tompkins in 'A Baby for the Dukes' earlier in season 6. That one survived, so it could've been used in later episodes. They were most likely Impalas, but some could've been Bel Airs and Biscaynes. A couple appear to have the Sport Sedan body. Like with your previous questions about cars being the same across episodes, I think all we can say is they were similar. If they didn't get wrecked, they may have been reused.
  5. After Boss' brakes go out, Vance apparently stops his car by simply pressing the clutch. Vance previous told Boss "...what you gotta do is try to slowly downshift into first gear. And then let the gears slow you down.". All we see is him depressing the clutch but never raising it again as you would to shift gears with a stick transmission. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 1970 Cadillac DeVille only came with an automatic transmission, so it wouldn't have a clutch pedal anyway.
  6. The Dukes were often called PLOWBOYS.
  7. Christopher MAYER Surprisingly, no one has used his name before.

    Charlie Daniels

I was just watching a season 3 episode of The Fall Guy called 'Pirates of Nashville'. The main storyline was about bootlegged Country records, so Colt and gang had to fly to Nashville and visit The Grand Ole Opry. The first singer they met was Dottie West - one of Boss' Celebrity Speed Trap victims. A couple of others like Mickey Gilley were mentioned, but not seen. Then Charlie Daniels and his band showed up to perform 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia'. The episode also featured Miriam Byrd-Nethery who appeared in two episodes of Dukes. The episode finished with Colt losing a bet and having to sing the show's theme song which was portrayed as having been written by Howie. I'm no expert on Tennessee geography, but the street signs in the urban car chase looked suspiciously like the ones in LA, and the out-of-town chase went down roads lined with white fencing that were very like the ones often seen in Dukes (e.g. W Potrero Road in Westlake Village).
  9. I only watched the scene around the impound yard, but most of those stores are on French Street. You can see towards Boss' bank when the boys escape jail, but the bank is blocked by a truck. You can also see a redressed Rhuebottoms and paint store in the background when Sheriff Little crashes through the fence. The building with the fence is redressed as different businesses in several episodes.
  10. Midwest Street (Hazzard Square) played Springville in 'Deputy Dukes'. Can you give examples of episodes where the town in Chickasaw appeared and I should be able to tell you where they were filmed. I think they generally used French Street for Chickasaw, which is the one behind the the courthouse between Midwest Street and New York Street.
  11. Cooter claimed to have tuned EDELBROCKS in his 'shine running car in 'Mary Kaye's Baby'. (A few brand names crept into the early episodes)
  12. Donatello
  13. ZEKE Ferris (claimed he shot at a UFO)

    NASCAR news

F1 is on its summer break, so I thought I'd break a habit and use his thread to post some NASCAR news. While celebrating his win at last weekend's Xfinity race at Watkins Glen, Connor Zilisch managed to fall from his car. He was taken to hospital where it was discovered that he'd broken his collarbone. Luckily, he saw the funny side when the hospital gave him a "Fall Risk" bracelet following his anesthesia and posted a picture on Facebook.
  16. Runners (What sneakers are called over here. They'd be trainers in the UK)
  17. The Hazzard WATERMELON Supper and Demolition Barbecue.
  18. I'm just watching S3E01 of 'The Fall Guy', and it reunites Lee Majors with his bionic co-star Lindsay Wagner. While it's mentioned above and in another thread that Jimmie Best taught Lindsay Wagner, her imdb trivia page says that before acting she was a regular babysitter for his children, and it was as a result of this that Jimmie recommended she tried acting classes.
  19. I've never heard of Shining Time Station. Before it became Thomas and Friends, it was simply The Railway Stories by the Rev. W. Awdry, and that's what I grew up with. Although I know that Ringo Starr narrated Thomas and Friends when it changed its name and came to TV, I haven't seen many of those episodes. I used to have LPs with the stories read by British TV presenter Johnny Morris. He was best known for presenting a zoological kid's TV show called 'Animal Magic'. He'd narrate it and do voices for the animals.
  20. Ann NELSON appeared in 'Big Daddy'.
  21. The writers never paid much attention to consistency with place names and locations. However, both Seminole Canyon and Seminole Road are mentioned in 'The New Dukes'. Seeing as the Mean Green Machine is spotted "headed east on Seminole Road" and Vance says "We gotta catch them before they reach the end of the canyon", I think we can assume that Seminole Road leads either to or more likely through Seminole Canyon. BTW. In 'Follow That Still', Rosco tries to block the APC at the bottom of Seminole Hill. I doubt if this has any connection, and the writers just recycled the name over the next few seasons.
  22. It was in response to Enos' "Sheriff Rosco, you got a toilet on your roof." in 'Coy vs. Vance'. I won't be eating fruit at your house!
