Just wondering who everybody's favourite (I'm English - we spell it that way:)) guest stars/cameos were. I mentioned in another post that mine were Henry Gibson, Charles Napier and Robert Alda. They all looked like they enjoyed playing their parts. It was also good to see Mel Tillis who was in a few films around that time including Cannonball Run, SATB 2, and Every Which Way But Loose. There were also dozens of familiar faces, mainly crooks, who have me diving for IMDb to find out where I know them from (am I the only one who does this?). Usually it turns out they were in one or more of the following: A-Team; Knight Rider; CHiPs; Fall Guy etc.

Visited the Cars of the Stars museum in Keswick in late 2008. He's got some great vehicles, but could do with some more space to show them at their best (I think there are more in storage). I was also disappointed that no photography was allowed inside unless you spent about £40 in the gift shop.

Way back in the days of 486s and early Pentiums I used to build PCs part time. I still remember a Soyo motherboard manual that had been translated into "English". In the days before USBs and Plug n Pray (sic) computers everything was set up with little jumpers. In the manual section for setting the Com ports it contained the line "??? I do not understand this bit ???". As we all know, costume changes didn't happen often in Hazzard. Everyone is familiar with Boss Hogg in his white suit and hat, but I thought it would be fun to remember the times Boss changed his outfit. I'll start you off with 2: Baa, Baa White Sheep - Boss puts on a black suit while pretending to be his twin brother Abraham Lincoln Hogg. Goodbye General Lee - Boss wears a racing suit for the publicity shots he's going to use when his car wins the Drag 'n' Fly. Well done to all the old movie buffs who spotted my thread title comes from the 1951 Ealing Comedy starring Sir Alec Guinness.

Sorry to come late to this debate, but I thought I throw my 2 cents in. I like most of the ideas so far and agree it should include as many of the original cast/crew as possible. As for 'next generation' of Dukes, I can't believe at least one of the cousins didn't adopt from the orphanage they always supported so well. This could set up new characters who may have been on the wrong side of the law in their younger days, but now in their late teens/early 20s have Bo, Luke and Daisy to give them the moral guidance that Uncle Jesse imparted to them. It would also be important to recapture the 'feel' of the original. Remember, it never rains in Hazzard, or gets dark (you lucky people of Georgia ). They also need to remove the interference of the West Coast execs who don't understand the South - I know most of the episodes were filmed in California, but if it were set there would we still be discussing the Dukes of Orange (County) 30 years later?. I'll have to admit that it will be strange seeing the General being chased by Crown Vics rather than late '70s Plymouths and Dodges, and I can understand people who believe you shouldn't go back, but I think it could work if it's done properly.

I knew this question would come up, and still don't have a good answer. It seems to me that pretty much all the cast with the exception of Jesse, Daisy and Boss got substituted for various reasons at various times. I don't even think Coy and Vance made a bad job of it after their first couple of episodes, but they were always on a loser with the yardstick of Bo and Luke to be measured against. I'd say the casting crew did a very good job (something they failed to do in the recent films) with the regular cast and there were some great cameos, my favourites being Henry Gibson, Charles Napier and Robert Alda (check out Robert playing against his son in M*A*S*H). Overall I'd have to say I'm dodging this one, but I can't imagine watching any episode without Waylon's narration.

Hi there. I'm an Englishman who's been living in Ireland for the last 7 years. I'll be 40 this year which means I've been a Dukes fan for about 3/4 of my life. I'm currently re-watching every episode from the beginning - I'm up to 'Goodbye General Lee' in series 4 at present, so I've only got 75 episodes and 2 (good) films to go! I finally got 'round to reading Ben Jones's 'Redneck Boy in the Promised Land' this year, and recommend it to anyone who hasn't. On the hobbies side, I collect 1:18 scale diecast cars, most of which are muscle cars from the late '60s and early '70s, and include 5 Dukes cars. I have also recently been playing around with vector based artwork again. So far I've done a top, side, front and back view of the General, recreated the Boars Nest sign, and am now working on a Hazzard patrol car (1978 Plymouth Fury). See you soon y'all.
