Not at all... I love everyone's opinion on the movie both good and bad. Just that this wasn't a clone of the TV show that some people wanted and I am glad it wasn't. A change of pace and something different to keep the Dukes in the spotlight.. By the way, nothing will ever compare to the orignal anyway.. I'm gone Darrell

BS , it did not degrade the show one bit.... I wish ya'll would stop with that stuff. The movie was more than enjoyable and fun. I am an old school fan too and LOVED the movie. I grew up watching it since I was kid every Friday night.

Couldn't have stunk that bad to see it THREE times.... As far as the General's doors opening, I have to disagree with your views. I loved the fact that it was explained and he had the birth of the beloved Generla Lee that we all love . Hopefully in the DVD they will show the complete scene of Cooter and his boys fixin' it up. It was a race car for a once a year rally in the movie and a vehicle to haul moonshine everyday too don't forget. I LOVED the movie and am damn glad it wasn't a carbon copy of the TV series, except for maybe the Georgia episodes. Yes I grew up watching the Dukes every Friday night too back in the day. I , for one, never wanted this movie to be a copy of the TV series, if they did that they would have had just another renuion show. I understand everyone has their own views on what the movie should have been like and what the characters should have been portrayed as but I still think this movie captured the Spirit of the show and it's inspirations - Moonrunners , Smokey & The Bandit & DOH( the 5 GA episodes) . Funny thing that I haven't been this crazy for a movie since Dazed & Confused. I guess every 10 years or so I am due for one. I'm gone Darrell

Now, films made from TV shows are commonplace. But as this summer has shown, what works on the small screen doesn't always work at the multiplex: "The Honeymooners" and "Bewitched" both bombed, with the latter causing critics and audiences alike to wonder what exactly Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell were doing in a remake of a musty '60s sitcom. Only "The Dukes of Hazzard" proved to be a success, updating it's '80s good-ol'-boy humor for a new audience. This fall will see "Serenity" (the cinematic leap of the failed TV series "Firefly"), and next year will bring "Miami Vice," starring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx. Also in the works: "Get Smart," starring "40 Year-Old Virgin" Steve Carell, and "I Dream of Jeannie" with Jessica Alba in the running for the title role. While the trend can be traced back to successful transitions like "Dragnet" (1987), "The Untouchables" (1987) and "The Fugitive" (1993), a flop like "Bewitched" showed the danger of overestimating audience affection for old titles. For every "Mission: Impossible" and "Charlie's Angels," there's a "Wild Wild West" or "The Mod Squad." "A lot of these shows are badly dated, and though they may have worked in the 1960s or '70s, when they're updated they just seem irrelevant," says Bruce Fretts, senior correspondent for TV Guide. "The thing that seems charming today isn't the plot or the jokes, but the time-capsule quality. "Plus, people are used to seeing these shows on the small screen. You have to have something really special to justify transplanting them to the movies." "Movies and television shows are two completely different species," says Frank Spotnitz, an executive producer and writer on "The X-Files" (both the show and the 1998 movie), whose fall show, "The Night Stalker," is an update of a cult early '70s program. "But to movie studios, it's a huge help to have a title everyone knows, to cut through the clutter of the marketplace. "Yet I think nostalgia of any kind is a double-edged sword," adds Spotnitz. "When people see a TV show title from their youth, they're looking for a piece of that old experience to come back, and the truth is, they'll never recapture it." One rule of thumb ought to be to avoid sitcoms. While one-hour dramas like "Starsky & Hutch" can even be movie-fied as a comedy (thanks to Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson), half-hour shows are often deadly, a rule previously established by the movies "Leave It to Beaver," "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "My Favorite Martian." "Sitcoms, which are based on character relationships, build a rapport with audiences over many seasons in a way that movies just can't do," says Tim Brooks, author of "The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network and Cable TV Shows." "Plus, so much of our television history is on display every night; old sitcoms are never really gone. DVDs of TV shows are now common, and networks like Nick at Nite and TV Land keep old shows alive. "That's a major sea change in American entertainment. Everything is so accessible that nostalgia never has a chance to actually become nostalgia." But hopefully, in a few years, an end could be in sight: Though a "Sex and the City" film was ready to roll until co-star Kim Cattrall backed out, most hit sitcoms from the '90s - like "Seinfeld," "Friends," and "The Drew Carey Show" - couldn't be movie-fied. Yet TV Guide's Fretts says "never say never." "I'm sure if you told someone in the 1950s that someday they'd make a 'Honeymooners' movie with someone besides Jackie Gleason, they'd have been shocked. Flash-forward to 2015, and we could be talking about someone else playing Ray Barone in an 'Everybody Loves Raymond' movie. "It could happen."

I was wondering about some of those scenes from the trailer. I thought I didn't see some of those jumps . I knew the Lynda Carter/Mufiins scene wasn't in the movie and the 2 police cruisers wrecking together wasn't either. You are absolutely right in that was one of the best scenes in the trailer..... The movie was 1hour 46 minutes which is pretty long compared to action/comedy movies . If a lot of those scenes weren't cut , it might have been closer to 2 hours . Maybe they had an actual time frame they needed to fit the movie into? I don't know. But all I can tell you is the movie was so fast paced that an hour and forty six minutes flew by so fast that it felt too short to me.... By the way thank you for the great screenshots. I think y'all should watch Smokey & The Bandit again. There are alot of inneundos and a whole heck of a lot of cussing. It seems that people forget that or maybe have just seen it on TV only. I have read a lot of reviews about the new DOH movie and the first thing they say negative is the cursing. Well Smokey & The Bandit was just as bad and you can't say it wasn't . Don't forget that this was one of the inspritations for the DOH series, so the new movie was on this level... I'm gone Darrell

It's funny , I have the Confederate and American flags tattooed on my arm. This is the inspiration for my tattoo minus the Copperhead Banner and a meaner looking snake... Great album .... My white friends at work think it's either a racist or Southern kind of thing and try to make the dumb comments racist comments. My black friends actually compliment me about it because of how colorful it is , how I keep it so bright after 10 years, and wish they could have that kind of color on their skin. Not one black person has ever given me a hard time or asaid something stupid about it. It has been mostly my white friends who think I get grief for it...Go figure.. I'm gone Darrell

Divia - You have your college degree, didn't they teach you proper public speaking? Never start off with Umm or Ahhh, that I remember from one of my few classes. Anyway you really don't have many posts that begin with your nonsense, I just browsed through a few pages of yours. But the FIRST thing you started off with was "Umm I have a masters degree". If that isn't trying to show someone up I don't know what is then. That would be like me saying something like "My Ferrari in my driveway" or something else like that to START off a post. Who hoenstly cares ? It was so irrelevant , but it still was like trying to show off . Very Classy to me....

My local Wal-Mart's doesn't have any of the Dukes stuff. I guess Ebay might be the only way for me then....

Another top 5 for "Smoke" .... 36th to 5th ain't so bad... 5 wins in the last 7 races with 8 top 5's in the last 9 - 1st in the points ( although it doesn't mean a thing in a few weeks) ... I have always liked the Michigan races , but I don't like the fuel mileage races at all. I like it to be stettled on the track and quick pitstops, not gamble on fuel. Some may like that , some may not. I know it's a part of racin' and will always be... Mayfield gambled and won, great call by Slugger Labbe on doing that . Rouch Racing has great finishes today with all his teams. Ol' Gordo was 15th, moved him up to 12th in the points. Let's hope he a bad race or two in the next few.... I'm gone Darrell

Anyway I was making a general comment on college parking permits as I experienced it both as a student and making deliveries. Wasn't diected to anyone at all. Actually it wasn't pointless. If it wasn't for that cameo by the super troopers then we wouldn't have gotten the jail scene or the chase through Atlanta... When you are on a college campus , you are supposse to a PARKING PERMIT or ID sticker on your car so it is allowed to be there. Most colleges do it that way. I was once ticketed because I used a different car to go to college one day ( my car was in for repair for something ) . Yes there are campus police who actually make sure this is enforced. Even when I used to deliver to one college on my old route , I had to get a temp permit before I could park. This wasn't explained in the movie, but it could the explaination. Just my thoughts on the scene.... I'm gone Darrell

They did a an updated series of the Munsters With John Schuck as Herman back in the late 80's. There was TV movie "Here Comes The Munsters" back in 95 with Edward Hermann as Herman. Now the Wayans Brothers ( Marlon and Keenan Ivory) are planning on redoing the Munters for 2006....... But Like you said, Thats HOLLYWOOD I'm gone Darrell
