  1. That surprised me too that the theater I saw it in was so into the movie . Laughing at the jokes and doing the YEEEHAAAAW a couple of times. That was awesome that almost everyone was into it like that. I took my kids to see the movie , I went openeing night with my wife and friends. It was my son's (2 1/2 years old) first movie. When he first saw the General jump in the movie he did a YEEEHAW . That made the movie for me right there, seeing how he enjoyed it (til he fell asleep about 2/3 of the way in) ..... I'm gone Darrell

  3. I second that big time, travelerF150 All you have to do is go some other Dukes sites and boards and the overwhelming majority loved it. The public must not care that much about the so-called negative reviews either as it is making A LOT OF MONEY. Are you going by what the critics say or what YOU think about it? Why are you so hung up on the Yahoo and critics reviews? Look at most of the reviews on HERE , the best DOH site on the 'net. Most people liked it. http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=dukesofhazzard.htm Tues - 8/9 - $3,659,262 Total - $38,502,975

  9. Who really cares what the "professional" critics thought? I sure as hell don't. .... It seems most Dukes fans enjoyed the movie except the ones who wanted to be like the original series. There are other Dukes sites and forums that show that most loved the movie. I never wanted it to be a carbon copy of the show. I loved that it was "rough" and "colorful" and "fun". The new take on the Dukes was pure enjoyment . Even Ben Jones (Cooter) was wrong about it. As as Jessica Simpson , she was way better than I would have thought. She wasn't my first or anywhere near my choices. But that is just my opinion....

  13. The music made this film even more fun to watch .. It was like the perfect songs at the perfect time.... 1. Mississippi Queen - Mountain - gave me goosebumps when the General was first born and it's lights came . Then in slow motion with Mississippi Queen famous guitar riff.....Awesome 2. My Wife Thinks Your Dead - Junior Brown - The Balladeer had to have a song in there. Boss Hogg is boiling crawdads and it's the song heard in the background. 3. Shoot To Thrill - AC/DC - Another great moment and perfect song when Luke is hanging out the General's window shooting his bow when they are getting chased 4. Busted In Baylor County - Shooter Jennings - Too good .Loved the song as Luke was getting dragged on the safe. 5. La Grange - ZZ Top - As they are getting chased in Atlanta Just awesome thay included Waylon Jennings - Good Ol' Boys to open the film. That brought a tear to my eyes..... I know there are songs that I missed so please post them. I know there is another AC/DC song -If You Want Blood (You Got It) is the song I think, not sure though.... I'm gone Darrell

  15. Hell no........Everyone in the film played their roles great.... Besides , from what I understand, if the movie is a hit they are contracted for a sequel anyway... The movie was awesome. Dang glad it wasn't a carbon copy of the show and was something the original couldn't have been since it was netwrok TV.

  19. I got one that wasn't mentioned. When Bo & Luke stop by the group of blacks and they start calling call them out and ask what are you some kind of hillbilles ? Luke - We prefer to be called Applachacian Americans.... That was too funny that it poked fun at the politcally correct ..... Darrell

  23. Sorry I can't help with the pics.. Good luck with the model . When you finally get it done , you had better show it off on here. I was hoping they would have made a die-cast of the "early" General Lee along with the repackaging of the ERTL die-casts.... I'm gone Darrell

  25. Saw the movie 2 times this weekend.......Haven't done that for a movie since I saw Raiders Of The Lost Ark when I was a little kid..... I think it was even better the second time around. I had my kids with me and it was my 2 1/2 year old son's FIRST movie. He was really good and even did a YEEHAAA once when he saw the General Lee in one the jumps. Then he fell asleep........But it was his first movie and an awesome one ..... One thing I loved - Uncle Jesse - . It reminded me of my father, he passed away when he was 73. The jokes and the way he was was almost like my dad. My dad told those kind of one -liners and was flirtatious in a good way, always complimenting the women in his own way. Except no "smokehouse" antics for my dad. I know it might sound dumb, but it really did hit home with me a bit with Willie as Uncle Jesse. The film rocked big time. I can't say enough about it. Probably will go one more time this week to see it again... It is well worth it... Darrell
