  1. Oh, cool! That is a great idea, BoJames!!! I bet Roger would have a couple questions for you! As for me, I'll try to dig up a couple next time I watch the Dukes!!! I want in on this one, too!!! When do you need the questions by? Brilliant Idea, Bo James!! General Grant
  2. Who knows if he will agree. Anyway, we are getting off track, sorry Y'all! General Grant
  3. You're most certainly Welcome, Julie! I know what you mean, they seem like worlds apart. The Dukes are just fun, but Knight Rider involves High-Tech stuff! But I love them Both! I think that is a great idea to have the Origianl KITT and Michael with the Original General Lee and Bo race against each other, but they'd better tie!! Anyway, thanks again Laura, for starting this thread! It is a lot of fun! General Grant
  4. Thank you so much, Meadowmufn! That was really interesting!! I guess I never realized that HazzardNet evolved from another site (did I get that right?) Well, that was one brilliant idea from you to start Hazzard Net! I am eternally grateful for that. At least I know I'm not the only dipstick out here! (Not that I am saying anyone is a dipstick!) But to me, that term is almost a compliment... sometimes...!! Thank you so so much, not only to meadowmufn, but also to Brian and MaryAnne! You three make a great team! And it shows every day on this site what a great team you make, and what a great site you have!! General Grant
  5. Hey Y'all! Here I go again! I am surprised that NBC is so proud of the Knight Rider show! I mean, I can see being proud of the original, but .... YUCK! I din't like the remake one bit! Okay everyone, If you did like it, I apologize if I am getting carried away. I hope that you have a great time watching it! And that is great that you enjoyed it, but I still like the original better! KITT was funny, likeable, nice looking, etc... and the new kitt was (in my opinion) boring, almost creepy, at times disgusting, and he talked too much and acted too little! Okay, I best try and calm down again! You all should get awards for having to listen to me whine about the new Knight Rider! General Grant
  6. Thank you to Laura for starting this thread. That was truly an amazing and exceptionally well-thought out plan you have going! I think that we should have stuff like this more often! I, too, recieved this letter in the form of an e-mail, and am sorry to say that I would never have thought to put it on here. So for that, I commend you! Thank you for thinking of all of us... And thank you also to all of you who have posted, have thought of posting (I'd be interested to hear what everyone on the site would say about this one!) and for those of you who will post here in the future: I can't wait to hear about "Why we love the Folks of Hazzard"! Thanks, Roger, I also consider you a great friend, person, and the Uncle Jesse of the Site. You have kept me in line when I was about ready to step out of line, and have always done so with understanding, and Patience. You just seem to have the respect of many of the folks here, including me. I've always appreciated the fact that you know when you need to be calm and serious, and when you can just have fun! You really are a great person to talk to and the person who really proved to me that this (and the Dukes) really is all about family! You are a great role model! You were also the first person to really welcome me into the group. Thank you so much! Lori, as Laura said earlier... I love your spunk. You know how to have fun, but also know when to be serious. Thank you for the fun times and great personality. You also have a great sense of humor! Julie, you are a fellow Knight Rider fan... what can I say!! Thank you for the pleasant conversations about the show we've had! You really are a very friendly and nice person! Garrett Duke, I've enjoyed complaining about the weather with you! Not that you were complaining, but thank you for listening to me whine on and on about how cold it has been here, I'm sure you will be glad to know that Spring is here! I had such a great time! DaisyMae, you really are a great person and I've had such a great time reading your posts, and your stories about The Dukes, Namely the Role Plays/ Round Robins. You are a very talented writer. BoJames, you also are very talented at writing. I just love the way you can get into character, it is almost like talking to Bo himself! Thanks for the fun times! Emy-Rae, you are so friendly and welcoming to every new person that comes onto this site. You treat everyone like you know them, and are very considerate to how other people feel. You have really been a joy to talk with! Laura, thank you for being such a friend! You have always treated everyone with respect and dignity. Even if there have been differing opinions, you always hear the other person out and don't judge them or cut them down! You always try to please people and have never been rude to a single soul on here! Thanks! That is something I've always admired in you. Your sensitivity to how others feel, and you down right Funny sense of humor! And thank you to the Moderators (thanks, Roger for reminding me about that one!!) as Roger said, without you all, we would be only watching the show and wondering if there were fans out there who were as passionate about the show as this group here is. And to all of the members of HazzardNet, you truly do make this site what it is. Thank you for the fun times! In a way, I also feel like I'm giving a speech at an award ceremony. I guess it's because I feel like I was just given an award. And being apart of this site and family, that is better than any award a person could recieve. So, I can't say it enough, but thank you So much to everyone! And Roger is right again when he said: " If someone posts something personal and sad we hurt for them. If its happy, we smile with them. If they haven't posted for awhile we worry about them." That about sums everything up about this site. I can't think of another site I've seen in which there are such close connections where you almost feel like you've known the people forever and they are a part of your family. Okay, I think I've babbled long enough, so I'll stop before I bore you all to death, if I haven't already! General Grant
  7. Welcome to HazzardNet, LizzyJackson-Davenport! Hopefully you enjoy your stay here. It is always nice to see new people join, esspecially those who enjoy the Dukes! Hope to see you around here! General Grant
  8. Thanks, Roger! First off... I never thought I'd ever get to meet any of the cast members. That was so cool! He is such a nice, down to earth guy, and in some ways does remind me of the character, Cooter. I was delighted to hear that he still had the Cooter like accent! We went a little early, so the line was relatively short. We only had to wait 5 or 10 minutes to get to actually talk to him and his wife. She, too, is a very sweet lady. I was laughing a little bit at Ben because he was talking to a couple in front of us who had a little baby girl. Ben was all excited and was going on about how cute the kid was, and saying he loved taking his picture with pretty girls like her, etc... and his wife saw me laughing a little because I was surprised that being a big actor, he would take the time to be so friendly. Well, she saw me enjoying that, and it looked like she started laughing a little, too. My sister could barely compose herself in line. Her knees were a shaking, and I can only imagine how high her blood pressure went! She had to grab me just to stand! Okay Roger... into the details, now!! We only talked a couple minutes. But he was saying that he was the one who made up the "Crazy Cooter CB Talk" and that he jotted it down on an old envelope, and that envelope is in some museum. But he signed my sister's 7th season of the Dukes DVDs and a General Lee shirt. He asked our names, and started singing a little bit with my sister's name in the song. (He actually sings pretty good!) Then he did his Crazy Cooter CB speech but inserted our names in it. "Breaker 1, Breaker 1 might be crazy but I ain't dumb, Crazy Cooter comin' at ya. Laura, Lindsay, Y'all home on the Hazzard Net? Come Back." That was AWESOME! Then we got to stand next to the General Lee and got our picture taken with Ben. While the picture was being taken, he said "Eat your heart out, Bo Duke" and laughed. After all that, he gave us a hug, gave a couple compliments, and off we went. That is when Laura stared crying because it was so special to her. I almost started crying because she was so happy! That was a great day! Has anyone else ever met any of the cast members? Oh, I know what you mean, Roger, Ben was saying how the Dukes really is a family show, and you can tell that he is proud to have been involved in that! I am really glad I got to go. General Grant
  9. Hey Y'all! Just got back about a half hour ago from seeing Cooter at the World of Wheels. Super-nice guy! He was so friendly and was just the nicest, most down-to-earth person I've ever met! But, then, its Cooter, how could someone not like him? Good Question, JESSI DUKE, did anyone else from HazzardNet go? General Grant
  10. Welcome... to Hazzard County! I hope you have an enjoyable and pleasant stay at HazzardNet! I am always so delighted to see fellow Dukes fans come to this site, and it is always so cool to hear about how they watched it as a kid, and came back to it and found that they loved it just as much, if not more, than they did as a kid! Welcome, and I hope you have an enjoyable stay. I'll catch y'all around Hazzard! General Grant
  11. I hope that some more people can go to see Cooter and the General Lee. On the news this morning, they were at the actual event showing some of the cars there, and in the background the General Lee was there! That was so cool, but would have been more enjoyable if they actually mentioned him! Anyway, I hope y'all have fun, I am sure I will! Although I am kind of nervous because this is the first time that I have met any of the cast members and the General Lee! General Grant
  12. I think we are going!! I hope that you can make it, and I know all of Wisconsin is bummed over Brett Favre's decision to retire. He's played hard though, and I am sure that he'll enjoy the relaxation!! Okay, I'm going to be annoying here, Brian, and ask how long of a drive it is for you to get to Green Bay. So, how long of a drive is it to get to Green Bay? Hopefully you and your buddies have a great time! General Grant
  13. Okay, Y'all, I know this is an older post, but it is so cool, so I just have to post!! Here Goes... What did I learn from the Dukes: 1. You don't need a lot of money to be rich (as a couple people mentioned earlier) The Dukes don't have much in worldly posessions, but they have each other, and that makes you much happier than any amount of money. 2. Work is good for you. Look at how many fences the Dukes have had to repair and how they turned out! 3. Family is absolutely everything. Without my family (and I learned this recently from the Dukes) I would be lost and they wouldn't be here to keep me in line. 4. Driving around aimlessly really is a lot of fun when you have your favorite cousin (or friend, etc...) with you (using a four wheeler works too!) 5. Treat them strangers like friends you haven't met yet. They really are just friends you haven't met! 6. Lastly... Love those around you, even if they treat you rotten half of the time. There is good in everyone, cherish those who are close to you, and realize how great you really do have it. General Grant
  14. Oh, thanks y'all for the information. I'll have to check that site out, BoJames, thank you for sending it! That is very interesting, Garrett Duke. I wonder why they would call it Atlanta Motor SpeedWay, if it isn't in Atlanta? Well, if Tom wants to pursue a career in Broadway productions, that is great! I hope that he finds happiness and has a great time doing it! Although, if he was scheduled, it is a little rude to back down last minute (I don't know the whole story, though) but, he's got priorites I guess. How could Dukefest not be on top, though?! I am not sure either about Tom's behavior at the last Dukefest he was at, I have never gone, and haven't read up on it. Maybe he's just sick of living in the past and wants to move on past the Dukes of Hazzard. Can't say as how I blame him, but I would certainly hope he wasn't rude! In the commentaries and bonus features on the Dukes DVDs, I kind of get the feeling that he just wants to move on and has a "what's done is done" attitude. Nothing wrong with that, though. Anyway, I hope he goes, even if I can't get there. I am sure that his going would make a couple people very happy! General Grant
  15. Hey Y'all! That is cool that Tom is going to Dukefest! Okay (this might sound like a bad question...) Where is Dukefesst held? I can't believe I don't know... Don't y'all laugh, now!! Anyway, do they keep it in the same place every year, or does it move around? I've never been to Dukefest. Has anyone ever gone? If so, how was it? Is there a lot of waiting in line? I am just excited thinking about it, although I don't think I'll ever make it to one! Just thinking about it is exciting! General Grant
  16. Hey Emy-Rae!~ I noticed the other day you were on! I am so glad your computer decided to cooperate! Anyways, off topic here, but Congratulations Emy-Rae, you are a little over half way to becoming a Senior Member! (applause) Hope to see y'all around Hazzard! General Grant
  17. I hope that you can get that badge! It sounds really cool! How much of a collection do you have? Sorry I can't be of much help, I really don't know the answer to that question. Good luck in your hunt to get the badge! Hopefully you will find it! General Grant
  18. Hey Julie! It sounds like you are really learning a lot about your family history. I hope that you have fun learning all of it! It really sounds cool! Anyway, I am sure I will see you around Hazzard! General Grant
  19. Hey Y'all! Ben "Cooter" Jones and the General Lee is going to be in GreenBay, Wisconsin on March 7th, 8th, and 9th. Is any one planning on attending that? General Grant
  20. No, that is okay, TimDuke!! Thank you for the thought, though. That was really nice of you to offer!! That was on the show?! I wonder how I could have missed it? That must have been KITT's brief appearance?? I am confused now! North_of_Border1... chatting with fellow Hazzardites is always a good excuse!! I hope that a couple people were here and you had a nice chat!! Anyway, thank you again, TimDuke! I still can't believe I missed that. Good looking, y'all! I think I'll have to watch a Knight Rider episode over the lunch hour! I'll see y'all around Hazzard! General Grant
  21. Welcome Back BoJames! Hopefully you had a nice vacation! Glad to see that you are back! I'll see y'all around Hazzard! General Grant
  22. WELCOME BACK EMY-RAE!!! I am so glad to see that you are back on. In fact, I noticed you were on when I logged in!!!! Welcome back, I am really glad that you fixed the problem (at least I hope it is fixed!!) it almost seemed lonely just knowing that one of our fellow Hazzardites wasnt' here. Glad to be able to say this again to you... I'll Catch y'all around Hazzard!! General Grant
  23. Well when did they go and do that? I love KITT the car, and he is really cool, but with all do respect, I hope he doesn't get on the new series. I just have a nagging suspision that they are going to drastically change his personality if they do that. Poor KITT, such disrespect towards him. First he's picked apart into millions of tiny pieces and thrown on a cold garage floor, and then they try to reassemble him and has an uncertain future. (Hopefully not on the show) Oh, THANK YOU TimDuke for posting that picture. I think I'll sleep better now knowing that KITT isn't laying on a cold floor somewhere in a million pieces like a piece of garbage!! (I'm just joking about losing sleep over this!!) Anyway, I think I'll just stick to the original series, and TRY to forget about the new stuff... General Grant
  24. I know, dukefan... I just hate the idea of a new KITT! Both KITT and the General Lee ARE irreplaceable, like you said. Glad to see a fellow die hard Knight Rider fan!! I personally think that they should just have left Knight Rider (and the Dukes for that matter) alone! Just let us have our happy thoughts about it, and leave it be! General Grant
  25. (starts walking away, singing to self) Straightning the curves, and flattnin' the hills Someday the mountain might get 'em but the law never will...
