  1. When I'm with Luke I'm on Cloud 9!!!!!!!!! DixieDavenport
  2. I was occupied by Luke -- Must have slipped my mind but your right! Dixie
  3. The next morning found the Duke farm a flurry of activity. There were several things needed to be taken care of in town. Luke had volunteered himself and all the others to do the chores that Bo, Beth and Jesse usually did. After the chores were done Luke began to measure and mark off for the expected addition to the house. If everything went OK, hopefully they could get started tomorrow on it. Luke knew Jesse would come up with the money somehow. First, Jesse needed to go to the Courthouse with Bo and Beth to get the marriage license in Hazzard County there is a three day waiting period so the sooner they got the license the better. With Jesse's signature and the note from Beth's Mother getting the paper work done was at least easy! Jesse needed to go see Boss Hogg at the bank while Bo went over to see the doctor about his hand. Beth and Bo went in Doc's small office. Doc was looking in the file cabinet for something when they entered. Doc looked up and asked, "Well, Bo are you about tired of that cast yet?" Bo smiled a bit embarrassed, "I was tired of it five minutes after you put it on." Doc said, "I bet you were! Especially since it was self inflicted?" Bo looked puzzled at Doc. "Be glad Doc - patient privacy is more secreative than Uncle - Nephew privacy is. Now, do you want to tell me what got in to your head and caused you to do this?" asked Doc. Beth was enjoying this just a bit and added Luke's standard line, "Twice." Doc said, "Yeah, that's right. Twice." "Why do I get the feeling I'm out numbered here?" asked Bo. Doc and Beth answered together, "Because you are!" Bo smiled just a bit. He hoped to get this conversation headed a different direction by bringing up something he and Jesse had talked about without Beth knowing they did. "Well, let's just say my temper got the best of me. I think you'll understand a bit better after I ask you something else. ......." Doc waited for Bo to continue. Beth looked at him questioning. "What do we need to do to get Beth here a check up?" he asked. Beth could have hit him. Doc looked at the two, still not catching on to Bo's line of thinking. It was obvious Jesse hadn't told the doctor everything. He pulled her file. "Well, Beth are you needing this check up for softball again this year? All you'll have to do is like ususal just come by with your Mother." Beth said rather embarrassed, "Well, you can give me a physical form for softball too if you like while I'm here." she looked at Bo. She really did enjoy playing softball and since she intended to go to school she may be able to get by playing at some on the early games before she started showing too much, but she'd have to talk that over with Bo. Bo saved her, "Doc, we'd like to get Beth started with the pre-natal visits just as soon as we can. We want to do everything we can to insure our baby will be healthy." The old Doctor took a seat on his desk before continueing. Jesse hadn't told him this. "Well, now Bo, I admire you both for that, but we have us a little problem. You both are underage and without permission from her parents I can't treat her for anything. Ah, that is unless, you were married then you would be consided, for this purpose, adults." Bo's next statement just about made the doctor fall off the desk, "Just set up the appointment for next Monday. Doc, you remember that patient privacy thing you mentioned? Well, other than family you can be the first to know we are getting married Saturday. You can just send her bill to me with the one for the hand. I'm sure that I'll be able to keep you in enough 'supplies' this next year that your supplier will think you retired or something." Doc laughed, "I'd say you'd be right. I want to congratulate you both on the wedding and the little one. It's been sometime since I've gotten to take care a Momma." Doc picked up Bo's file, "With that second injury to this hand I'd say you need to be in the cast another three weeks anyway. Then I expect you to take it easy with it for about a month." Bo sighed a bit disappointedly, "Ok, Doc. Thanks, we'll be back Monday." ~~~~~~~~~ Jesse was waiting in the pickup outside when they came out. Once they were inside the truck Jesse said, "Well, it's nothing much but I want to give you your wedding present from me." He handed Beth and Bo a check made out to them both for a thousand dollars. "Its not much but I think we can build a couple pretty nice rooms for you three and still have a little something to get you all started." Though Bo knew that most of the money would go for the new rooms, this was the most money he'd ever had in his name ever. He tried to find his voice. Money wasn't that big of a deal to Beth though her father had tried to impress the importance of it to her all her life. She knew that this money could have been used by the Dukes for many other things, yet, Jesse hadn't just got it for the new rooms but had given it to Bo and her to start their family with. With tears in her eyes she turned to Uncle Jesse and hugged him tightly. "Thank you so much. This means more to me and Bo than you know." Jesse simply said, "You two just take care of each other." ~~~~~~~~~~~ At Ruebottom's Jesse and Bo explained to Mr. Ruebottom what they would need for the new rooms. Jesse's truck was loaded with treated 2x6's for the frame of the floor, more 2x4's for the walls and roof, plyboard for walls, tar paper and felt for the roof, a spool of wire, assorted nails, assorted fixtures for the wall sockets and lights. While they were taking care of those details, Beth was eyeing some material. Figuring with a couple days to have to wait that it would be cheaper to make a wedding dress than to buy one. She figured to let the guys get there thing done then she could talk with Bo and they could decide what they could afford. She knew Bo had several suits, but she'd like him to rent a tux. They'd just have to see how the money went. Beth knew that Luke would be his best man. Maybe they could rent him a tux to match Bo too. ~~~~~~~~ Jesse and Bo smiled when they pulled into the farm with the overloaded truck seeing the string and stakes were up to mark off the new rooms. Bo thought, 'No matter how mad Luke was at me he still is backing me. Wonder if it's just to get his own room?' Cue Beth
  4. Sounds like my kind of party there Chet! DixieDavenport
  5. OR name your children afer DOH characters!!! Yes, I have a 15 year old son named Jesse Allen (Allen is from my exhusbands best friend.) I had to compromise! I got my Jesse though!!! I just hope he has Jesse Duke's morals and family values!! He was tickled to death when he got Daisy's autograph at Duke Fest this year!! DixieDavenport
  6. Trivia Bo's response (to the quote) is??? "track down that _______ and broaden her horizens!!!" And What show did Luke say it and to whom?? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "That poor girl!" Yes, it was Luke's Love Story, he said it to Bo about Amy right as he dropped his jeans as Amy turned on the light in the bedroom. Right before Jesse came in and ran the boys out with their sleeping bags! Because he didn't run any broady houses there! I love Uncle Jesse! Of course it wouldn't have happened if Dasiy hadn't left the note in the bathroom for them! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAISY To Daisy for 'putting up with' the boys so long! LUCKY Girl!!! Dixie
  7. Just loud enough for Bo to here, "Give me two minutes." she turned to the house. She had already packed what she now knew she was taking with her. Outside it was a LONG two minutes for all the males. Jesse Duke was always one to try to make peace but he was steaming too. Now, just wasn't the time; though, he knew he would try to talk some sense into Mr. Smith sometime in the future. Bo stood straight and tall glaring at Mr. Smith. Luke and Jesse obviously were there to back him should the need arise. Beth was back very quickly. She wore a dress her Mother had made her with a knitted sweater her Grandmother had made for her. She had a small cartoon in her hands with her pictures of her friends, and Mother, her yearbooks, letters from Bo, and a couple stuff animals Bo had given her. Bo met her at the front door taking the box while being careful not to set a foot in Mr. Smith's house. Beth hugged her Mother and said, "Thank you. I love you!" Her Mother knew exactly what she was up to though she wanted to insist she take more of her clothes she figured now wasn't the time. She would just have to take them to her later. As she approached her Father she stood up straight and looked him in the eye and said the most un-ladylike thing any of them had ever heard! "I took MY things. I don't need you, your things, your fancy house....." she held out her hand to him, "or the car!" placing the car keys in his hand. That part hurt. "You can take it all and SHOVE IT!" Luke had seen this might get nasty. He had already taken the box and put it in the General Lee then returned to Bo's side. Bo helped Beth into the General Lee, he got in and started the car. Luke had put his one leg into the car before Jesse ever moved towards pickup. ~~~~~~~~ By the time they returned home the whole house was awake. No one had went back to sleep after Bo's enterance in the wee hours of the night. Daisy was at the stove when Beth entered the kitchen followed by Bo, Luke and Jesse. Daisy went to her friend and hugged her. Beth said with a weak smile, much to Jesse's approval, "Can I room with you? Until after the wedding?" Jesse smiled and thought, 'Yes, she is a good girl.' Daisy reassured her, "You know you can! We have a lot to talk about anyway!" Daisy was referring to wedding plans! Beth said a little embarrassed, "I might have to raid you closet?" Daisy hugged her again, "Sugar, if it fits wear it! It has always been that way around here!" Luke spoke up, "Speaking of which, wheres my solid blue shirt you wore last?" Daisy replied, "Luke it goes over my favorite tube top. It's getting warm, I'm sure it will turn up in your stack soon." she smiled an evil grin. Though wild horses couldn't have stopped Luke from going with Bo. He had been rudely awaken and was a bit grumpy this morning. He poured his first cup of coffee. Jeb being ever the instigator asked, "So when is the wedding?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After they had finished their morning chores Luke and Bo found Jesse setting on the porch. He had a notebook and the advertisement from the hardware store. There was a long list figures on one sheet of paper and Jesse appeared to be drawing something. Jesse notice Luke looking over at the paper curiously. Jesse took a drink of coffee. "You two remember me telling you that we will all get through this ..... but there would be adjustments we would all have to work at." He looked at Bo, "The way I see it, after getting you two hitched the next thing to worry about is this." He handed the papers the boys. "Now, I know you boys have shared that room in there since you have been here, but the facts are we are all just out growing this old house. I intended to go to JD and up the morgage to get supplies to add us two new rooms. We can knock out the window at the end of the hall and add on there." Bo was surprised. He knew things were tight as they were. He felt really guilty to cause his family to have more bills. He said, "Now, Uncle Jesse, ......" Jesse smiled warmly, "Bo, Beth can't stay in the room with you and Luke. It would be wrong to move Luke into the boys room." Jesse paused, and said frankly, "I know you nor Beth want her to continue to share Daisy's room after the wedding. You two will and need your privacy. It will be alright. We'll just have to work hard and get this done as quickly as we can, then we'll have to up production considerable to make the bills. I don't have to tell you that if we up production we increase the chances of getting caught." Bo said, "Uncle Jesse I'm sorry to bring all this on you all like this." Jesse shook his head, "Boy, the time for being sorry is over. Now is the time to dig in and get down to work to provide for your family." Jesse looked at Bo's hand. "When does that come off?" Bo replied, "Not as long as it has been! Ya'll don't let me do a dang fool thing like that again, huh?" Luke said, "Twice!" Bo rolled his eyes at Luke. Jesse just smiled at the two. He loved those boys but sometimes they really made him wonder why! Cue Beth
  8. Well, My opinion is meant only to compliment some of the writers here who have good ideas that ran along some of mine or just plan struck me as "Yeah, that fits!" So if you recognize something of yours here I'm not trying to take credit. ~~~~~~~~~ This is the way I see it and would LIKE to have seen the new movie be! OH, well, leave it to the money makers!!!! Not the fans!! Luke -- The first show was right on there! Luke had been a paratrooper in the Marines (From what was in the series.) The 1st reunion put him as a Smokejumper which really appeals to the Firefighter in ME! I can see my favorite character doing this job that is an adventure on every call! Maybe he is married to Amy Creevy or a old high school friend (Luke's First Love) Bo--- Again they hit it on the head. Bo going back to the NASCAR circuit! Maybe he married Jill or Diane if you want to go with characters you know -- if not I think Bethie88's "Beth" is just perfect for him. (Danged Fool, Going Home, Going Home Again, and Good ole boy Big Mistake.) Jesse and Boss Hogg -- I'd love to keep them around but there would be no substitute for either. I see them up in Heaven sipping on some of JeESSE'S finest and still watching out for ALL of us! May they rest in peace! Daisy and Enos -- Well the only Hazzardite for her is Enos! I liked Jamanda's idea of them having a whole brood and Enos running for Sheriff when Rosco retires or takes Boss Hoggs place as Commissioner. Cletus --- I see him still as a Deputy. Cooter -- He would have went to Congress to try to sort out the places like Hazzard. He still owns the garage but LB and BB run it. When he's home he can piddle and restore classic cars. As for Bo, Luke, and Daisy's kids -- They have been brought up with the same morals and ideals as their parents. They are all young adluts or will be soon and though Bo, Luke and Daisy may not live in Hazzard anymore their kids live on the farm and annoy Enos and Cletus. They also have taken up the torch by keeping Rosco in line. Like thier parents the family that plays together stays together and they still fight the SYSTEM any SYSTEM!! Under the watchfull eyes of their parents and cousins! THE GENERAL LEE -- Well, Bo and Luke are a bit selfish. He fastest car and their best friend still remains in the family. They make sure he's ran some and that regular maintance is done on him so when they come home for a visit, holiday or special occassion THE DUKE BOYS (regress to a younger age) RIDE AGAIN!! Of course Rosco, Enos and Cletus have to ACT like they hate this but they Love it, Love it, Love IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Yes Duke of Hazzard and NASCAR!! Could be a combination!! DixieDavenport
  10. I agree that they all look great after all theses years!! I too wish I looked like I did TWENTY SIX years ago and know what I know now!! I might have had to "track down that Luke Duke and broaden his horizens!!!" Happy Birthday to Daisy!!! DixieDavenport PS TRIVIA?? Bo's response (to the quote) is??? "track down that _______ and broaden her horizens!!!" And What show did Luke say it and to whom??
  11. Beth -- I could handle a race team with Bo, Luke and Cooter on it!! Nascar would have even MORE fans!! I see Kyle Petty finished in the top TWENTY!!! I'd love to see him or Richards cars do something!! Is Jimmie Johnson related to Junior Johnson???? May have to start listening for him since I work most Sundays. I met Junior Johnson in Richmond about about 85. Now there's a crew Chief and a nice guy. DixieDavenport
  12. CHeck out 20 questions with Ben Jones (Cooter) at CMT.com he answered that very question. Though it was never mentioned he said all the parents were together on a plane and it crashed. Learned something after all these years! DixieDavenport
  13. When Dixie did go back to her room while Jesse and her Dad was talking, she took the telephone with her. She figured how much more trouble could she possibly get into. Daisy answered, "Duke farm." "Dai, .... sy?" Dixie snifffed. She didn't even recognize Dixie's voice. "Yes, it's me?" Bo looked up at her, hearing trouble in her voice. Through her tears and sobs, Dixie said quickly before Luther came back in, "Daisy. Please believe me, I wouldn't have done anything to get Luke into trouble if I'd only known." "Whaoooo, Dixie. What trouble is Luke in?" asked Daisy. She now had Bo's attention and motioned for him to pick up the other phone. "We went parking last night......" Dixie started. Bo said, "You and LUKE went WHERE?" Daisy was pretty surprised herself but she knew Dixie had a crush on Luke but with him seeing every girl in the county never thought he'd go out with Dixie. "Bo please. I don't have much time. Jesse is talking to my father or I'd not have gotten the phone. Yes, we went parking and, ....." she paused, "That's not ALL. It was MY idea, ...... now Luke is in trouble." Bo couldn't help but ask, "Dixie, what trouble is Luke in? I can see your Dad being mad but with you both over 18 then, ....." "BO that's the problem! I'm only SIX-TEEN! I HAD NO IDEA! I guess I'm just stupid. I had no ideaaa, that we were doinggg, anything iilllleeggaallllllllllllll un, ..... tilllll, the Trooooooopers showed upppppp." She said obviously crying. "Trooooooooopers?" Bo got really pale and let himself slide down the wall to set in the floor before he fell down. "Oh, Sh--!" "Oh, Lord." Daisy said, "Dixie it will all be OK. If Jesse's there he'll get it worked out." "NO, it won't beeeeee," she sobbed, "My father is insisting that they 'throw the book' at Luke." Bo finally got his wind back, "Where is LUKE?" She bit her lip and tried to form the words without crying, "In jaaaiiiiilllllll." Bo hung up his phone. "I'm gone!" he was out the door, in the Road Runner, and gone before Daisy could say anything. Dixie's door slammed against the wall as Luther stormed into the room, "WHO are you talking too?" He feared she had called her Mother. He saw something he didn't like seeing when she looked up. She had fear in her eyes. "Daisy." she whispered as she hung up the phone. Luther was hurt, angery and would be embarrassed by all this. Here his only daughter had finally came back to stay with him. How in such a short time could he have let this happen. Luther did not want to explain to his wife this situation. To think he had actually began to trust that Luke Duke. He thought, 'I just let the fox come right on and guard the hen house. Then, they both betray my trust.' Luther thought, 'Da--! He did do a good job with that wrecker. Guess I'll start looking for a replacement.' He could be a very stubborn man. "Let's go." he said to his young daughter who now looked even younger to him than she had yesturday. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Daisy looked at the phone as it went dead. "JEB! Coy! Vance! Guys! Come on!" she yelled. She got the boys together and they all took off for town. She promised to explain what was going on while they drove.
  14. Luther Davenport wasn't a bit surprised to see the white pickup coming down the driveway. He stepped out on the porch. He was dressed to go into town. Jesse walked onto the porch. "Luther our families go way back." he began. Luther nodded, "Jesse, I know that. I don't want hard feelings between us, ..... but there's going to be. They both betrayed my trust......" Jesse interupted, "Luther there doesn't have to be." The porch door opened and Dixie stepped on to the porch. It was obvious she had been crying. Jesse reached out to comfort her as Luther scolded, "I told you to get in your room and not to come out until we go to town! Now GO!" She gave Jesse a pleading look before she bolted for her room. Jesse watched her go. "What is done is done. What is the point of all this?" asked Jesse in a quiet calming voice. "MY 16 year old daughter has now got the reputation of a WHORE. HE's done this to one too many girls Jesse. I'm going to see to it that I do everything in my power to have the book thrown at him." Luther's voice was raising. Jesse calmly said, "I've talked to Luke this morning. He would like to do what he can to fix the situation." "Jesse there is no going back here. He can't fix it!" said Luther. "Luke knows what you and most everyone else is going to think. He told me that Dixie wasn't just another girl. He said he loves her." Jesse sees steam coming out of Luther's ears and his face is turning red. "Hear me out ........ He'd like to marry her." "There is no way that him marrying her would change my mind!" Luther exclaimed. "And him marrying her to get out of this mess would never work. Then she'd never be happy." Jesse tried to explain further, "Luke knows that even if you allow her to marry him that you may not change your mind about the charges. He's not saying that to get out of trouble. How happy do you think she'd be knowing you sent him to prison?" "She'll get over it and maybe in time she'll find someone to have her with her 'reputation'!" Luther insisted. "Oh, for Pete's sake, Luther she isn't the first 16 year old to ever, ....." Jesse was interupted. "Maybe NOT, but she is my only daughter and I'll not just let this go. Now, if you'll excuse me I've got to be getting to the Courthouse to talk to the Troopers and Judge." said Luther. Before Jesse turned to go he said, "Luther, please don't do this to my boy. It won't change anything." Luther walked into the house without saying a word
  15. Mark began, "I went out last evening and bought a half gallon of liquor after taking my, ..... " he almost spit the word, " 'GIRLFRIEND' to work. I talked to Luke then went home and got plastered. Dad woke me up this morning. I was and still am pretty drunk. When I came downstairs there were two Troopers at the house wanting to know where I was last night. It was my luck no one had been home when I got back home. My Firebird was identified. Jesse I haven't driven it in days. I was in Dad's pickup last night. They had search warrants to search the car and house. They started with the car. They found a ski mask I've never seen before, then opened the glove box. Inside was a .357 Magnum of Dad's and several checks from the Dixie Inn. They charged me with Armed Robbery. I didn't do it." Jesse asked, "Do you have any ideas who could have done it?" Mark nodded, "Do you remember Sharon Jones? We've dated for awhile. I've known she runs with a tough bunch over there where she lives. The guys have tried to convience me to dump her. I guess I should have listened when she got into trouble about six months ago. He-- she just got back from a Women's Correctional Facility for Sh-- like this." Luke looked surprised. "Yeah, I kept my mouth shut. I guess I figured maybe it was a bunch of sh-- like goes on here sometimes." said Mark a bit embarrassed he'd not talked to his friend. Jesse asked, "But the car and the gun?" Mark shook his head and gave a sick smile, "Easy. She knew I kept and extra car key in the bumper. As for the gun, I had to think on that too, but it came to me about an hour ago. That Magnum was kept on top of the refrigerator insight. She has been with me when I have forgotten my house key, ... the extra key is on the porch light. The last time I drove the car was to take her out to the Dixie Inn and talk FOR HER BENEFIT so she'd get the job. The thanks I get is she not just used MY car and Dad's gun but made DA-- sure she left plenty of evidence that I did it. Isn't that SWEET?" Mark was raising his voice. "Jesse you know his parents wouldn't even get him out for racing or fighting......" said Luke. Jesse held up his hand to silence Luke. "I'll do what I can for you both. Luke if they upgrade your charges, .... they are both serious charges. I just don't know if I can help you both." Jesse looked at his watch. "I need to go see if I can talk to Luther though." Luke nodded, "Remember what I said?" Jesse nodded 'yes', "I will. Luke hang in there. I love you." Luke tried to assure Jesse, "I'm fine. I love you too." Jesse knew Luke was not anywhere near fine as he drove over to the Davenport farm.
  16. I went to the Duke Fest 2003 at Cooter's Place in Sperryville, VA Dixie
  17. 'Follow my gut.' Bo sighed, 'The last time I did that we lost the General's keys for two days.' he thought to himself. He turned and looked at the window. Bo sat up, slide his jeans on, put his shirt on, walked over to the dresser. He took a pen and wrote Jesse a note: "Uncle Jesse, Luke said I should follow my gut in this. I have a really bad feeling. I'm going over towards Beth's to see if I can find anything out. Bo." He set the note up so that Luke would see it. He grabbed his boots and jacket, then headed to the window. Luke rolled over as Bo opened the window but had not woke up. After getting outside Bo put on his boots and jacket and headed very quickly to Beth's. As soon as he got to the edge of the woods he knew he was right. Every light in the house was on, there were two U-haul trailers being loaded as Bo looked on. It took everything in Bo not to just run into the situation. From the looks of the scene he had a couple hours anyway before they'd be done. He ran back to the farm as fast as he could. When he swung the front door open with a bang the whole house was wide awake. He met Jesse at the top of the stairs shotgun in hand. "Uncle Jesse I knew he was up to something they are loading two U-hauls right now!" Cue Beth
  18. Back at the farm, Daisy walked back into the kitchen after Bo, Luke and BJ left for town. Dixie and Beth looked at her with questioning eyes. Daisy asked, "What?" "Ghost from the past?" asked Dixie. Daisy actually blushed. "Kind of. Of course there's been a lot of water under the bridge." She paused, "BJ was always fun to be around. I even went to Wisconsin once with him." Beth said, "Come on or we'll never get this done." They left in Luke's truck and Beth's car. With all the girls and all the decorations it would take both cars to get everything to the church. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jake who wasn't real use to his new family said, "You are kidding, right? I thought you all couldn't make moonshine anymore?" Luke stepped on Jake's boot. Though he was certain Enos heard the comment about the shine. "We can't, Son. Or we'd be drinking it instead of beer!" said Luke with a very innocent look on his face. He continued, "Well, Enos I'd like you to meet my son, Jake and you remember Bo, Jr." Enos gave Luke a puzzled look. Luke continued, "You remember the time after me and Robin broke up? When I chased every girl in the County? Jake here is the result of that chasin'!" said Luke matter-of-factly. "Weeelllll, NOW, Boy howdy there! WHEW - Hooooo!" said Enos temporarily letting his mind travel from Daisy and that guy in the rig! Luke continued, "Jake this is Enos Strate or should I say Deputy Enos Strate?" "Now, Luke, that was a long time ago!" said Enos. "I'm just visiting! Kwee kwee!" Luke replied, "So if something wasn't quiet above board you'd keep it to yourself?" Enos gave Luke a questioning look. "Now, Luke I couldn't be involved in anything illegal." "Now, Enos old buddy, I'd never ask you to do anything illegal. But there wouldn't be anything wrong with a couple younger gentlemen drinking a little water out of a Mason jar should there be any around would there? I mean after all both their father's approve of it and all." Luke asked. Enos said, "Well, Luke there's not anything wrong with anyone drinking water. I can't understand why it would be in a Mason jar though nor why they would have to have their Dad's permission?" Luke saw he had baffled Enos who had a lot on his mind at the moment. Luke gave Enos a little smile, "Enos, this is a special occassion and I think there may have been some 'special' water that has been put up for just this occassion. I think it may be a long while before these guys have an opportunity to have their first taste of this 'special' water. Now we have plenty of beverages aroung here, even got some buttermilk for you so I didn't figure you'd want any water that Jesse put back. Believe me any of us get in trouble or I'm not at that church on time day after tomorrow it won't be a pretty sight!" Luke saw the lights finally come on. Enos said, "Oh, some of Jesse's water? Now, boys if you have some of that there water and you tell me its water I'll take your word for it unless of course it were being transported somewhere." Luke smiled, "I give you my word as a Duke that none of that there water will leave this building in any containers. Now, let's get this party started." he handed Enos a glass of buttermilk that Cooter had just poured. "Thanks Enos for taking my word that they will be drinking water tonight and I'll also assure you that they won't be going any where until morning." Bo, Jr. and Jake couldn't believe that Luke had that conversation with Enos Cue Beth
  19. UHMMMMM Kitty Bo is still in jail! Jesse couldn't post the $5000 bond! Sorry thought this needed posted here so otheres wouldn't get confused like I was when I read it! Dixie
  20. I saw where Duke Fest is going to be back at bristiol this year First weekend in June I think!!! Dixie
  21. Jesse pulled up in front of the Courthouse and jail just before 8:30am. He had to know what went on with Luke in order to try to help him. He hoped there would be SOMETHING he could do. Jesse took a seat outside Luke and Mark's cells. "Ok, Luke you first. What happened?" Luke sighed, "You remember Dixie's big birthday party we all went all out for. Well, it turns out it was her 16th birthday NOT 18th!...." Jesse interupted, "Did she tell you she was 18?" Luke gave Jesse a brief sad smile, "No." he sighed, "I figured that out ALL on my own. I know, I assumed myself into a God aweful lot of trouble." Jesse asked, "So what did they charge you with?" "Trooper Mitchell said he'd give me as big a break as he could and ONLY charge me with Indecent Exposure, Public Intoxication, two counts of Contributing to the Deliquency of a Minor, and Resisting Arrest. Luther can insist on him charging me with the felony which after what I heard going on upstairs I figure he will." replied Luke. Jesse gave Luke a look of reassurance, "I'll go talk to Luther." he said simply. "I appreciate it, but Jesse I'm not so sure that will help. Just make sure Dixie is Ok. She had no idea what was wrong last night and as mad as Luther was I'm sure she has lived hard." said Luke with concern. "Jesse, I had a lot of time to think last night about a whole lot. Other than the age thing, I'm not a bit sorry for what happened. I Do love Dixie." Jesse looked surprised. Luke continued after seeing the look, "Yeah, I said that. ........ I just thought I loved Robin. Then I ran around trying to prove something." he shook his head, "I guess I proved what a jerk I can be...... He--, as far as I know, .... I was Da-- lucky that none of them showed up pregnant." he paused. Jesse just let him talk, "I love Dixie. I am not saying what I'm about to say to try to get me out of anything. I want to marry her and I intend to tell the Judge that this morning. When you talk to Luther if you think it will help you can tell him that for me." Jesse looked at his nephew. It seemed he had watched him grow up right before his eyes in the last five minutes. Luke looked much older than his twenty years. "Your sure about that?" "As sure as I've been about anything for quiet sometime, now. No matter what happens. I love her. She will have to live with what we did last night. It might be easier for her at least if she has my name. I don't want anyone to think that she was just the last in a long line of conquests." said Luke with seriousness. Jesse asked, "Luke is there any doubt about WHAT was going on last night?" Jesse continued a bit embarrassed, "I mean, ......" Luke stopped him, shook his head 'no', looking into his Uncles eyes. "No, what they said they saw was EXACTLY what they saw." he sighed. Luke felt himself shake inside as he stood up straight to tell Jesse the rest of his decisions, "I know in order to prove it though they will want 'tests' ran on Dixie. I won't let that happen. I'll not let her go though that." "Luke, ....." Jesse was interupted. Looking Jesse in the eyes, "I'll plead guilty and hope for the best if it comes to that. IF they run the tests it will only confirm what did happen and put her through He--. Her having to live with my assumption is bad enough." "Luke you could talk yourself right into prison." informed Jesse. "I know that." he sighed. "Isn't there any doubt? Those tests could come out shedding some doubt." said Jesse. Luke shook his head no. "The evidence would be there." Jesse looked him in the eye, "Could she be pregnant?" Luke got a kind of far off look and smiled just a bit before answering, "That would be the only good thing to come out of this. Yeah, she could be." He seemed a bit satisfied at that thought. Jesse stood up looking Luke face to face, saying a bit loud, "Luke have you lost all your senses? How long have you two been seeing each other?" Jesse asked worriedly. Luke replied, "We've talked and went places since she's been here. We got to know each other, but last night was the only time." Jesse asked, "You swear?" Luke nodded yes, "Yes." he continued, "Can I ask you to do something for me that I might not get to do depending on what goes on upstairs?" Jesse realized so far Luke had not asked him to to anything for him. He had not asked him to talk to the Judge. He hadn't asked him to talk to Luther, Jesse had offered. He hadn't even asked Jesse to get him out of jail. "What is it, Luke?" Luke looked very serious. "On my dresser is a small white box. It has been there since I dated Robin. I just recently figured out Dixie's size and had it sized and cleaned. I had plans to give it to her myself but never found the right moment. Will you see she gets it. NO matter what happens I want her to have it." Jesse knew the box. "Luke would that be your Mother's engagement ring?" With tears in his eyes for the first time since Jesse arrived, Luke bit his lip before he answered. He said as his voice cracked just a bit, "Yes, ...... it is. If she'll have it after all this, I'd like her to have it, ...... and all the promises that goes with it." "You'll be able to do that yourself." Jesse tried to assure Luke. Luke shook his head, "I'm not so sure about that. Before you go. Can you see what you can do to help Mark?" Again Luke wasn't asking for help for himself. Jesse nodded, "So Mark what's up with you?"
  22. Boss Hogg gave Luke directions to the place where the moonshine was stored. Luke asked, "You want me to run it in the General Lee?" Boss replied, "That's up to you." Not having much choice Luke knew at least he'd have a car he could count on WHEN things went bad. Before picking up the shine Luke looked a the map trying to find a road neither Boss or Sheriff Little would figure him taking. He didn't have many choices as there was only one main road to Chickasaw County. Well, he'd just have to go cross country! With the shine loaded, Luke left for Chickasaw County. Rosco went to the Boars' nest and reported to Boss Hogg who called to tip off Sheriff Little. He hadn't had a chance to get either Duke like this in a long time!!
  23. As long as Luke is the Crew chief!! LOL Dixie
  24. Beth was suppose to 'close' tonight and Daisy get off early, but she had talked Daisy into trading with her so she could talk to Bo before going home. Her father had given her only thirty minutes to get home after work or he'd call the police and have them find her. By trading Daisy she'd have two hours to talk to Bo. "Bo I was able to trade shifts with Daisy. I'll get off at midnight." Beth said as she brought Bo, Luke, and Cooter another round of beers. Considering Jesse had bought Bo a beer Luke folowed suit and ordered an extra one for him even though he wasn't 18 yet. Bo had joined Luke and Cooter right before Beth came over. "Great." he told her. As Beth walked away Cooter tried his luck, "You know Bo, if I didn't know any better I'd say that there ring on Beth's LEFT hand was an engagement ring?" Bo had enough problems without explaining himself to Cooter or anyone else. He replied, "Humm, Well, I wonder who she's engaged to?" he said as he walked away to talk to Jesse. Luke just shrugged his shoulders. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Though Jesse usually left early he decided to stick around until Beth got off tonight. When she got off Bo and Beth came over to Jesse's table. Bo asked, "Sunshine, do you think you will be Ok going home tonight?" "Well, I really don't want to, but I don't think he'll hurt me. But, I'm not sure when he is planning on leaving. I won't go." she said as tears over took her. Bo put his arm around her. "When can you, me or us talk to your Mother without your Dad finding out?" At that moment Beth went totally pale. Bo turned quickly to see what she was looking at. Her Father had just walked in! Cue Beth
  25. Just after 7am the Trooper arrived at the house in question. The Gold Firebird was parked in the driveway. As the Senior Trooper walked by he layed his hand on the hood -- it was warm. They knocked on the door of the house. It was answered by Brenda McCormick, Robin's mother. She was shocked to see two State Police on her door step at this hour. Trooper Mitchell said, "State Police, Mamm. Is Mark McCormick here? We have a search warrant for this house and that Gold Firebird." Brenda nodded yes as she called for her husband, "Bill I think you're needed out here." After talking with Trooper Mitchell and seeing the search warrant, Bill let him in the house, while the younger trooper stayed outside to watch the cars since it was a large house. Bill called up stairs, "Mark. MARK! Get up someone is here to see you." Mark groaned. He looked at the clock. 'Who in the name of Hanna would show up to see ME at 7 am on a Saturday morning. Everyone I knew, but me went partying last night at the lake.' he thought. He set up a bit too quickly and his throbbing head told him so. He looked at the half gallon of "Jim Bean" setting by his bed. 'No wonder I'm hurting.' The bottle only had about an inch of brown liquid left in it. Bill this time bellowed, "MARK, Get down here NOW! This is not an option!" Mark yelled back, "Coming!" He then said aloud to him self, "Ok, yelling isn't good." He reached for his pants, pulled on a T-shirt, and boots. When he stood up far too quickly he staggered a bit. NARRATOR: Nope folks he's not hung over he's still drunk! Mark stumbed out of his room to the bathroom before coming down the stairs. His eye squented against the bright lights of the kitchen as he rounded the corner. Trooper Mitchell said, "Mark McCormick?" Now Mark's eyes began to focus on the strange voice. He could make out the familiar uniform of the Trooper but he couldn't make out which one it was. "Yeah, I'm Mark." he said but thought, 'I think.' "Where were you last night from say midnight to 6 am?" asked the trooper. Mark looked confussed. It was way too early for questions that involved thought. He tried to focus and said, "Here. I got in about 9pm." Trooper Mitchell looked to his parents, "Is that true?" Bill answered, "I can't say when he got home. We were out later than he was." Mitchell moved to another point, "Mark what vehicles do you own?" Mark said, "A 78 Firebird." he sighed. "When is the last time you drove the Firebird?" Mitchell asked. Mark replied, "Three days ago." Bill and Brenda looked at each other puzzled. The Firebird had been gone when they got home last night but thought that might be better said later. "Are you sure about that? And where did you go?" asked the Trooper. "Yeah, I'm sure. I took a friend out to the Dixie Inn to get her a job." said Mark. The trooper wrote his answer down, then asked, "Who was the friend?" Mark replied, "Sharon Jones." After writing that down in his notebook, Trooper Mitchell said, "Mark I have a search warrant to search your Firebird. Let's go take a look." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Outside at the Firebird Mark, Bill and Brenda looked on as the younger Trooper began searching the car. When he opened the drivers door he saw something stuffed down by the drivers seat. Pulling it out it was obvious it was a ski mask with only the eyes out of it. Mark said with a bit of an attitude, "I guess there's no point in telling you I've never seen that before." They watched the trooper open glove compartment under a loaded .357 Magnum was what looked like several checks. After securing the weapon and unloading it the checks were taken out. They were all made out to the Dixie Inn and were listed on the warrant as part of the property the Troopers were looking for. Trooper Mitchell asked, "Is this your gun?" Mark looked closer, "I can't tell." Bill spoke up, "What's the last 4 digits or the serial number? We have several Magnums." Trooper Mitchell looked at the weapon, "3024." Bill replied, "It's mine." "Did he have access to it?" The younger trooper asked. Bill sighed, "Yeah, it's kept on the refrigerator." Mark looked at his Father, "I didn't do it! Whatever it was. I was home with a half gallon of Jim Bean that I took your truck to buy about 8pm last night. Da-- it ask, Luke Duke if you don't want to believe me. I ran into him at the garage and asked him over but they were all going out to the lake. I wanted to just stay home last night." The young Trooper showed Trooper Mitchell the checks. Mitchell shook his head. "Mark, you are under arrest for the armed robbery of the Dixie Inn. You have the right to remain silent, .............." After his rights were read, Mark was handcuffed and placed in the cruiser for the ride to town. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The younger Trooper came down the steps to the locked gate at the bottom of the stairs. "Peggy we have you another customer." Peggy got up, unlocked the gate, locked it back then went upstairs. At this point Luke wondered if Cooter HAD gotten arrested to try to get to him. ~~~~~~~~~~ Quiet awhile later, Luke had almost dozed off when footsteps were heard coming down the stairs. He turned to see Mark McCormick coming through the gate with Peggy. When mark saw Luke there eyes met for a brief second. They both saw surprise and a bit of relief in each others eyes. Mark was put in the cell by Luke with only a set of steel bars dividing the two cells. Peggy went upstairs in a couple minutes. Luke spoke first, "What are you doing here? The last time I saw you, you were heading home with a bottle of Jim Bean." Mark replied, "Well I should have went out with you all!" then the realization of what he said hit him. "I think. What are YOU doing here?" Luke replied, "It's a Long story. You?" "They convict me of what I'm charged with, I'll have all the time in the world to hear your long story." he paused, "Armed Robbery." "What? I know better. How much of that Jim Bean did you drink?" asked Luke. "Way too much and not enough either!' said Mark. Luke could relate to that statement. After the shine he'd drank and the couple of beers, it wasn't enough to let him sleep after last night, yet still felt rough from it this morning. He felt his left shoulder, that reminded him of how stupid it was for him to pull away from the trooper, 'yeah, I wished I'd drank more or less too he thought. Maybe I would have had better since than to try to pull away fro a Trooper.' Mark made a motion as to how much was left. "There was about this much left this morning. That I wished I'd drank before coming down stairs had I known THIS!" The two friends both explained to each other what had happened. They concluded that had Mark not stayed home he might have had witnesses that he didn't rob the place and had Luke went to party with Mark then he and Dixie wouldn't have done anything and given Mark a witness too!
