  1. Very. Sometimes the cities and states can be soo greedy... worse than Boss Hogg!

Can you imagine how Atlanta will look crawling with General Lees before Dukesfest, when they are all arriving? They won't be able to avoid it! If I had a replica, I'd be verrry careful driving it down there. Ya don't know how folks will react (or how many ticket's you'll get)!

  2. Yes Folks, Jeff Foxworthy has a board game out called "You Might Be A Redneck If...!"

Personally, I bought it, and I confess, I was looking through some of the trivia questions on it that determine if you move or not move (Ya move x no. of spaces for getting the question right, x number if you move wrong, it's different for each card, each card having four questions, only one of which is read during each turn).

Anyway, I was reading the cards, and I found one you guys might love!

You might be a redneck if...

You have a framed portrait of _____.

    A. The General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard

    B. A hog

    C. Dolly Parton.

Unfortunatley, the answer is B because the quote for the multiple choice question is really a Jeff Foxworthy Joke.

    :innocent::rofl:

The game is available at Walmart, as is a General Lee with a working horn, and a remote controlled General Lee.

  3. I think those cars all belonged to out of towners. I don't think any of us are dumb enough to let Rosco or his deputies drive or park our cars! well, there are exceptions to that rule, but I don't think the exception to the rules would wreck a car either, not like that!

  4. Anyone mind if I get in on this gig?

I have too many friends on here to count (and I am sorry if I forget anyone, there are too many of y'all!)!

First off, thanks to the Administrators. Maryanne... Brian... Mufn... Always there to lend a helping hand. Don't ya just love them? Could I get three cheers for them?

Hip hip horray! Hip hip horray! Hip hip horray!

    Now on to the others!

My friends who I talk to regularly or semi regularly on messenger... Cowboy, Lori, Dixie, James, Kristy/Garrett, BL, Konrad, Kelly, Richard...

and the folks I only speak to once in a blue moon

    Daney, Val, Alex....

and the ones I used to talk to but have become MIA (Or I haven't seen online, possibly b/c they need some peace to do work LOL) EssyJane, Chance, Vicki, Val...

and of course the ones I talk to on here through the forums (too many of ya to name)...

I love y'all! *hugs for everyone!* Always someone to talk to when I'm bored!

  5. I had another moment the other day... Yesterday infact. I was walking through the formal gardens at work, walked under a Cornus sp. tree... er... Dogwood, and ran smack into a branch, eye level. Some reason, I never seen it even though I should have! It was 'bout a half an inch in diameter.

I've run into Vertical 2 x 4's, I can't throw the direction I want (but I can shoot a gun and aim perfectly, go figure), other trees, walls, stair rails, and a ton of other things... usually if I'm not wearing my glasses (yesterday I was wearing them).

  6. LOL Y'all are nuts.

Yes, I agree people are too easily offended now a days. I believe if people cracked their history books while they are in school, they wouldn't, and I don't mean the history books that aren't correct either.

Maybe they should talk with some reinactors. It may do them some good.

If someone gets offended about seeing the confederate flag, they should also get offended at seeing the United States Flag. That was a KKK symbol before the rebel flag. The rebel flag didn't start getting used until the 1960's.

    Again, I mention a point:

If the Civil War were about slavery, why did Delaware take a southern stance on everything except leaving the union? De had Slavery in the lower two counties (there's only three!) and had Jim Crowe Laws. Delaware limited the education of african americans for years by having one highschool for them in the whole state for years upon years (The school building which was used is still in operation today as a school; Howard High School of Technology), and only one college (Delaware State University).

I think it's mostly just a tiny few who are trouble makers. I have lots of African American friends, and they have no freakin' problem with the rebel flag. Shoot, I've sat down and talked with them about it! I tell them what my Yahoo! and Windows Live Messenger display pic's are, they laugh. They have no problem with it.

I believe the trouble makers in Atlanta need to go back to History Class! Be Re-educated with the correct facts. Open their blasted eyes!

  7. Oh and Roger, thank you for the complament. The idea was indeed original.

Again, I am still surprised a certain couple of cousins hasn't taken this and rolled with it yet. Hmm, maybe they aren't paying attention or are a bit busy. What ever the problem, I know they aren't bored, otherwise we'd be havin' us a show right about now.

I know I don't want the Hazzard Law parking my Character's cars! Although... Rosco as a Valet would give the Garage a lot of extra business.

  8. I've had my fair share of Rosco moments too...

November 2nd, 2007 I was on crutches for 2 months. How you might ask: I stepped off the porch wrong and rolled my foot inward, creating a partial tear to my CFL and ATF Ligaments... yes, ATF stands for more than Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.

Then, few weeks ago, I step on a branch and give it a fresh mild twist. No injury, just in pain for a day or two.

Same day as my injury is revisited, my supervisor had two Rosco moments as well earlier in the day:

We go to a park to get a tree, turns out he forgot the chainsaw so we go to get one. On the way, he decides to show me where the beaver we got problems with is living. On the way through the field, I tell him, we may want to stop and walk so we don't get stuck. He says nah, he won't get stuck. What does he do? Get stuck. We have to call a coworker out, and he comes out in the tractor. We didn't expect him to come out in the tractor, but it was a good thing he did: He got stuck. He hits four wheel drive (Which he should have been in in the first place!) and gets himself unstuck after a few minutes, and has to pull us out another way. THEN after we get the tree from the other park which our park manages, he decided we were going to pick up sticks... riiight... and he leaves the truck in drive and doesn't set the parking break. Truck takes off without us. he stops it about 2 feet from running into a tree.

    State of Delaware's Rosco Moments:

Can't buy work truck's that are 4x4 for the parks. F-350 at work doesn't have 4 wheel drive.

My point: everyone has Rosco moments!

    Hope you get better soon.

  9. Gee... Winter... what winter? In Delaware, we didn't really have a winter! (that's comparable to the 1800's during the miniiceage where the north missed a summer).

Pansies (an annual that doesn't last past autumn in this USDA Zone) are still in bloom from last spring.

Trees are already getting their leaves.

Daffodils are already blooming and folks that isn't supposed to happen until mid next month! We had Daffodils coming up on Valentine's Day!

Did it snow here? A few times. What was the main temperature for our winter this year? 50-60 Degrees! Heck it hit 75! We BROKE record highs! I think once or twice we may have hit 80!

Average Temperature for a Delaware winter: 30 to 45!

  10. Very interesting guys...

If Atlanta has been pretending they aren't southern anymore, the only reason I can see Dukesfest being there is because it's so close to Conyers and it being Georgia. If it weren't close to Conyers, I would have to say something is wrong. If it weren't I'd have to compare it to having Dukesfest in Delaware... it wouldn't work... well maybe in Slower Lower Delaware (Southern Delaware), but I know it wouldn't work in the north.

Atlanta trying to pretend they aren't part of the south is just stupid (downplaying being part of the south, phhhtth)... it ranks up there with Delaware and Maryland pretending they have no southern links. (Hello!? Mason Dixon line? Idiotic Slavery all the way until the Civil War? Tobacco Plantations... yes Delaware had tobacco plantations)

I think being part of the south should be with Pride. This is just another example of the North screwing the South over with misconstruing what the Civil War was over (and I'll give you a hint, it wasn't Slavery or the rights of the African American, try States rights, and Economics... if it were over Slavery, do you think Delaware and Maryland would have stuck with the Union? West Virginia? Hell, Lee was against slavery to quote Lee... "I have to fight for my country, and my country is Virginia..." (At the time before the Civil War, people talked about their States as their Countries... don't ask, I don't 100% understand that one, but i tmigth have something to do with the orignally type of Government the US set up... also a Confederacy) and a lot of southerners didn't believe in it, why else would there have been the widespread Underground Railroad? Slaves were mostly owned by the wealthy plantation owners. Lincoln had no plans to free the slaves, however, I am glad it was done. I believe it was an inevitability, and even if the south had won, it would have probably been outlawed down there by the 1900's, WWI or WWII at the latest... the Confederacy was actually letting free african americans to sign up with their armies, but they never got to serve.) So my question is, how can Atlanta be turning it's back on it's heritage?

In this case, the only real reason, aside from being where John grew up (Notice, i didn't say where he was from), why Dukesfest would be in Atlanta, is because of Conyers... and Hazzard supposedly was located in in Georgia.

Also, there was one episode on the Dukes of Hazzard that did say the boys grew up cuttin' there teeth on those westerns... don't know the exact quote for sure, I'd have to look.

Okay, I'm getting off the Soap Box and returning it to Brian.

(and I believe that was the wording of what Lee said, may have gotten a word or two wrong in there)

  11. Yeah, I know. LOL. You're the one that brought it to my attention that a certain dark clad character whose intentions are usually less than sincere might take and run with them, ragging on his uniformed counterpart whos intentions are usually pretty sincere. So far he hasn't seemed to, least not in the public domain anyway... though, it would make for an interesting exhcange. Maybe I should get the popcorn ready?

  12. Brian,

Who do you think is to blame, and I have to agree, I am not a fan of Adam West either. He has had cartoon versions of himself done in several childrens shows (hey, I used to regularly babysit kids and I have 3 much younger siblings. I was 14 when the youngest was born), and it is just a major turn off hearing he'll be there. I wasn't a big fan of the Batman Series from way back when.

Needless to say, I am going to try to go this year. Infact, I hear there are a few of us Davenport cousins who may be trying to go.

As far as lawnmower races, I can see how that relates. It's a form of racing, and the Dukes had a lot of racing. Sides, who's to say I'm not guilty of threatening to race the lawnmowers when I was in Highschool? Teacher heard another girl and I talking about it and we got banned for a while from using them. Anyway, I will say, I would LOVE to watch... love even more if I could participate, but that wouldn't be happening.

The only way I can think of linking wrestling is 'in this corner Luke Duke' but that was boxing. Maybe they added it because of all the ballroom brawls? Ok, so maybe that one can't be put into logic.

Also, why drive when it may be cheeper to get a bus ticket and rent a car unless carpooling? Just a thought.

  13. Can't you put Lex in the cell now? *murmurs to MaryAnne then watches as the cell is open and Morrison comes out...the dark eyes meet his and narrowing slightly, returning the frigid gaze, hands flexing a moment in the cuffs, the lean frame tensing...then turns attention to MaryAnne as well, the hostility in the dark eyes leaving, settling down...also waiting for the Deputy...*

Hey! That's uncalled for! I been being a good girl Alex, and you know it. If I were being a bad girl, I woulda released the dumb city slicker!

  14. Naw, I ain't harassin' him. Just keepin' an eye on him and rattlin' his cage a bit. Y'all left him in there with a neck tie and he seems a little depressed. Course, that might have something to do with me giving him a reality check. *Leans against bars and smiles.* I mean, I did offer to let him do at least one thing that would be good for his brain and keep him occupied, but the poor city slicker didn't take my offer... reminded him of what will happen when he gets back to Atlanta when he has to file his report, and you KNOW the Atlanta PD will probably check with y'all for accuracy.
