James Best is in Rosco-mode seemingly a full half the time - though he'd argue often otherwise, it just keeps popping out! As for the computer... probably. He seems like too much a down-to-basics kind of guy to have multiple ones.

Well said, Lori. It's maybe not so much about him disliking Dukes itself, as wanting to be known for more than that - especially since music always was, even before Dukes, and has been since, his biggest love. At heart, I think he's more a musician and singer than an actor, seven years of Hazzard County aside. In my limited experience (more watching him than directly speaking I admit), he can be very gracious even if you mention Dukes later in a conversation, as long as you don't start the conversation with it and/or focus just on it. Just my opinion, but I kinda think maybe he does what he does (singing and Broadway) because he loves it, not because, even after the years, he's truly entirely comfortable being "a star". He doesn't eat up attention the way John does; in fact if you hear him speak he'll even speak of himself as part of an ensemble doing a show, not as starring in one. Acting "fannish" with him seems to be the quickest way to turn him off. Being more carefully but casually friendly, I've heard, can open him up more. To be fair, maybe he feels too hemmed in at big Dukes events with all that concentrated focus, even if we do all love to see him there.

*glancing over my shoulder, pausing on the way out... glancing to MaryAnne before giving a quick answer, leaving it to her to explain more, if she wants* Tied out front. He's fine. Followed all the way here like a good boy. *understanding at least Chet's concern for his critters*
-
*slight chuckle, glancing to Bo and remembering some nights spent in this very cell... though more often the other... not in a big hurry to get back in though, no* For sure. *glancing over to Chet as he rolls over* Just take it easy, cool down, and get some rest. Ain't much else you can do.
-
*walking backwards, watching over my shoulder... taking the steps up more carefully... and even more so the steeper stairs insde, down to the basement jail* Careful now, cousin... Ya got a preference as to cell, MaryAnne?
-
*arms under Chet's knees, hands locked together to heave the tall young man up out of the car... taking a couple careful steps back in order to make room to turn around... also giving the Deputy a quick glance*
-
Doubt there was much any other way, what with how he can get. *reaching in from behind Bo to help pull Chet from the car, taking the legs as he finally gets to the arms and head end* Count of three? He's pretty heavy.
-
You need another hand, MaryAnne, or would you rather I stay here to help you, Doc? *feeling a bit restless now, with seemingly nothing to do but stand in a corner, wanting to be of some kind of use*
-
*looking over as well, curiously... also scanning over MaryAnne quick for obvious injuries, rather relieved actually by her reappearance looking little worse for wear*
-
*having to chuckle aloud, grinning... amused and too generally happy to have Brian awake and Doc here, to complain too much*
-
*little snort, with an easy chuckle, sitting back in the chair again, wiping a suddenly-tired hand over my face with a sigh... relaxing as Brian stops sending out pain* Now who's gettin' high on the stuff... *teasing a bit, fond-amused... truly glad to see him no longer in such pain*
-
*watching from the other side of Brian's bed, leaning forward from my chair to place a soothing, light - not restraining - hand against his free arm* Shh... easy there, believe me, what you're feelin' now's hurtin' way worse that that shot will. You might not even feel it, in comparison...
-
*a deep breath let out... hand wiping across my own eyes as I watch Brian slip under again... in a more natural fashion this time. Then glancing to Bo briefly, and Alex* We all need to rest, I think. We can take turns stayin' up to keep an eye on them both. I've been in the middle of this the least time; I'll take the first watch. *carrying a chair over from by the wall*
-
I guess we'll just see. *murmured, eyes lingering on the young, unconscious Duke for a few moments before turning back to Brian* It could've turned out so much worse. That you both survived is a miracle I ain't gonna take too lightly. I'm just grateful, right now, and I hope Garrett can eventually see it that way too.
-
I ain't heard too much *admitting* but I am sure that it was an accident. I know that Chet ran into you with his horse, and your gun went off at the impact. I don't blame you... I hope Garrett doesn't. *turning head to look over at the younger man in a quieter worry, still* Doc said he should be alright..?
-
*having stepped out of the room, returns in time to see Brian awake... almost rushing in, delighted... but then noticing who's *missing*, and deciding Brian's safe in Alex and Maryanne's hands for the moment, heads outside quickly to inform Bo and bring him and anyone else who lingers on the porch back inside... heading right back into the examination room then, finaly making my own way to Brian's bedside* Thank God, man... *a low exclamation, bit rough with emotion refused to be let out entirely... though grinning* You scared us all to death. *hand coming to rest on his shoulder, then slide down his arm for a careful squeeze at his forearm, perhaps the only spot hopefully not too battered*
-
*nodding to Chance, aiming a small smile Bo's way, but more focused on the doctor's description of the patients at the moment... blowing out a breath* Run over by a horse... *slight shake of my head, and a more rueful smile, still fueled on adrenaline but able to relax just a little upon hearing they should be alright... even if broken ribs and internal bruising is nothing to play much with* Only Brian. *wry then* Only Chet. *slight shake of a dark head* Broken ribs, I ain't surprised. Are you sure none of them caused further internal damage, or don't you know yet? *intent as I ask*
-
*quiet footsteps are heard from the hall... the door pushed open a bit farther to show one more worried face, blue eyes flicking about the room and its occupants to finally rest on Brian and Garrett.... a slow, deep breath let out as I ease into the room* My God... *murmured, half prayer* I only just heard...

A lot of us have jobs and school and stuff that interferes at some times more than others, too. I know I sure do. I only check the forums every week or so anymore. Actually, I think that is a pretty historic date and thanks for sharing it. I prefer to think of November '78 as being the beginning myself simply because, since that was when it was filmed, the weather and all points to the story as happening then. It "places" it... no matter when it was finally aired. I kinda do that with all the episodes - think of them in film-date order rather than air-date, when that differs. It just makes lots of sense that way... watching seasons change (as much as they ever did in California but if you've lived there you can spot the signs... plus willful thinking, lol) and such.

I've always been around, Roger, just not always on the forums, but thank you! Thanks for the info, MaryAnne and Lori. Finally an answer... LOL. I found the song on SpiralFrog of all places, listening now. Yep, it is one of those more obscure bits of Duke history...
-
Everyone's always askin' that question... how can I possibly answer? I love both the Duke boys, in different ways. Cooter's a fun, nice guy... not the same for me, though.
-
Probably most of us can say yes, if you're talking about the DVD sets. Lol.

Does anybody know if this was ever a real song by Jessi Colter? It's her voice, it's a good background... it sounds really recorded! And yet you only ever hear the chorus, and that not all very clear... This has driven me nuts since the first time I saw the episode. I hope it is a real song, but can anyone let me know for sure? "...ya know there's good times waitin' on down the road..."

It's catchy. I can't say it's one of those songs that either I like or hate. Nice to tap your toes to though.
