HazzardNet Down Time
Hobie Hartkins and one other reacted to Meadowmufn for a topic
Some of you may have noticed HazzardNet was down for a few hours today. The database wouldn't come up. Fixed it though. I bet Enos unplugged something important to plug in the coffeemaker. He didn't even leave me any donuts from the Busy Bee.2 points -

Well y'all. . .I have been trying to mend my broken heart since Sunday. I may never be the same. Though I have to admit it was nice being on the winning side this year. This is the best season they've had in over a decade. Ben Johnson is the coach the Bears have needed since Lovie Smith. Caleb Williams is one of the best QBs they've had. It has been a fun season...stressful, but fun. Sad it is over, but proud of the team and their never give up attitude. Though with them out... Football is officially over for me. Daytona is 23 more days from now... Onto NASCAR and baseball...2 points -

The snow is over for the most part. 18 inches. Pretty manageable here on Lake Erie. Super cold the next several days. We have a full tank of propane and a fire in the woodstove so we're good.1 point -

We've had a miserable few days of rain, but no freezing temperatures for over a week. I think the coldest where I live was about -5C which is 23F. If you had -5F, that's about -20.5C to the rest of the world.1 point

Some random advice: 1. Take lessons from a local instructor. Learning guitar is hard. Having an instructor vastly improves your chances of success. 2. When you're learning chords, just hold the chord while you're watching tv. Strum it a little bit during commercials. At first when you pull your hand away, you have to carefully reposition your fingers. After a while you'll notice that your hand will snap back to that spot. Once it does that, you'll start to be able to just grab that chord without positioning your fingers. 3. Once you can grab the chord reliably, start working on a 2nd chord. Once you can grab 2 reliably, start switching between them 4. When you're actually practicing instead of just holding chords while watching Dukes reruns, focus on having good timing. That's a critically important skill. Go as slow as you need to. Whether you use a metronome, a youtube drum track or play along with the song, timing is everything. Even if you can only strum the chord once per beat, your timing is always your priority. 4a. Learn to tap your foot to the beat. Do it to every song on the radio when you're not practicing. Make it become 2nd nature, because you'll need it to keep good time, especially when you start getting to songs with stuff that's off the beat. 5. A bunch of old Waylon and Hag songs are only 2 chords. 6. This probably should have gone near the top, but take your guitar to a competent tech or luthier for a setup. Make sure he knows that you're a beginner and he should be able to set up the guitar with lighter strings and lower action. This will make it easier to play. Like I said above... learning is hard, and frankly, it's a lot harder when you start on acoustic. It's bigger, it's farther from your body, it's harder to see what you're doing, the strings are thicker and they're farther from the frets. Hope this helps.1 point

LOL!! Yea we get it each year around here. I moved from Franklin when I got married and moved to Sparta ( home of Lester Flatt of Flatt/Scruggs fame.....Bluegrass music. They were on the Beverly Hill Billys a few times!) We used to have some when I was little in Franklin but as I got older it hardly ever snows there now.1 point -

How about Les Seymour from 'Dukescam Scam'? We never see him, but the Dukes nearly hit him. As Waylon says: "That's Les Seymour's truck. And old Les can't even drive nails."1 point -

The Baxley Sisters in 'Coy vs. Vance' were also named after the Baxley family who worked on the show. BTW. Another widow gets mentioned in 'Gold Fever'. To get Jesse to open his mouth, Luke says, "This puts me in mind of the time when old Jess was laid up and Widow Campbell stopped by in the middle of the night...". Jesse interrupts him and I don't think we ever find out any more about Widow Campbell's visit!1 point -

Looks like a cold week ahead. Negative 5 last night. Big time snow coming in. Even north Georgia in the bullseye. I called Uncle Jesse on the CB but he already knew, He can predict weather by how the wild critters behave. Post your weather report here. It looks like Hoss is the only one safe from this winter monster.0 points -

There were yellow wind and rain warnings in place here for most of the day, but where I live, we got away lightly. It was just a wet, miserable day with a few heavy showers. A couple of places in Co. Wexford got badly flooded when the river burst its banks.0 points -

According to the Wikipedia page for Shérif, fais-moi peur (it's in French), the French theme was sung by Israeli singer Noam (Kaniel) with lyrics by Israeli producer Haim Saban. There's no mention of any backing singers.0 points -
