    Signs of Hazzard

Wow. You guys are awesome. I feel like a chooch. I made a post 5 years ago and y’all responded and I ghosted you. So, my wife planned a surprise trip to Covington, GA with the fam. Got To visit the jump sites from the first 5 episodes, meet some other cool Dukes fans AND John Schneider happened to be in town after a convention in Atlanta. Talk about an amazing day! Then, hit Cooters Garage in Pigeon Forge, TN a couple days later. Anyway, I’m totally geeking out on all things Dukes again and looking forward to checking out the forums here! I still love your artwork recreations, Hoss!

    Charlie Daniels

I was just watching a season 3 episode of The Fall Guy called 'Pirates of Nashville'. The main storyline was about bootlegged Country records, so Colt and gang had to fly to Nashville and visit The Grand Ole Opry. The first singer they met was Dottie West - one of Boss' Celebrity Speed Trap victims. A couple of others like Mickey Gilley were mentioned, but not seen. Then Charlie Daniels and his band showed up to perform 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia'. The episode also featured Miriam Byrd-Nethery who appeared in two episodes of Dukes. The episode finished with Colt losing a bet and having to sing the show's theme song which was portrayed as having been written by Howie. I'm no expert on Tennessee geography, but the street signs in the urban car chase looked suspiciously like the ones in LA, and the out-of-town chase went down roads lined with white fencing that were very like the ones often seen in Dukes (e.g. W Potrero Road in Westlake Village).

  5. I'm guessing Sonny Shroyer is a lot like Enos....only much smarter. (Of course Enos was pretty smart when he a cop in Los Angeles.) But I'm sure Sonny is a true Southern gentleman.

I saw the phrase "Tír na nÓg" (it means "Land of Youth") painted on several buildings, and the bar was advertising "Ceol Anocht" ("Music Tonight"), but I don't think it was the Celtic Women. It was probably traditional Irish music, but we had food waiting at the house, so we didn't stay to find out. Just to keep you happy, Roger:

  8. I just thought of something last week.....ever notice the theme song? Do you ever start the DVD and then go do something while it's playing ( I take my medicine before bed) and I NEVER get tired of hearing it, even when it plays over and over. It's like the episodes themselves.....there's no point of exhaustion! You can listen and watch over and over and over! What other show, band, etc. can you name like that???!!!

  11. It's past midnight at my house right now and since Enos lives in the same time zone in Valdosta Georgia that means he is officially 90. Happy birthday buddy. You are a true Southern gentleman and were a natural to play Enos Strate. This is cool.....our puppy Lulu turns one year old today. When we got her at the beginning of the year I was thrilled to learn she shared a birthday with Sonny Shroyer!

  13. well, cousins, right now I'm watching you know what and having a few AB's. I just watched Bad Day In Hazzard and I'm about to watch Miss Tri-Counties! I hope every one is doing well! 9/2 is coming fast and I'm counting down! Doctor gave me specific instructions, no beer or cold drinks 3 days before surgery! So Friday ( DOHD) is my last party day until after surgery and probably until somewhere around November!

  14. They don't even use the same car throughout 'Twin Trouble' - at least two different cars are used if you compare the front corner lights. It's probably safe to say that the car that was rolled wasn't used again. I think all of the cars in question are 1967 Chevy 4-door sedans. I'm surprised that you didn't spot another blue 1967 Chevy 4-door sedan being driven by Mary Lou Tompkins in 'A Baby for the Dukes' earlier in season 6. That one survived, so it could've been used in later episodes. They were most likely Impalas, but some could've been Bel Airs and Biscaynes. A couple appear to have the Sport Sedan body. Like with your previous questions about cars being the same across episodes, I think all we can say is they were similar. If they didn't get wrecked, they may have been reused.

  16. After Boss' brakes go out, Vance apparently stops his car by simply pressing the clutch. Vance previous told Boss "...what you gotta do is try to slowly downshift into first gear. And then let the gears slow you down.". All we see is him depressing the clutch but never raising it again as you would to shift gears with a stick transmission. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 1970 Cadillac DeVille only came with an automatic transmission, so it wouldn't have a clutch pedal anyway.

  17. Every time I rematch Dukes (for the thousandth time) I notice new things I’ve never noticed before like in Ding Dong the Boss is Dead, Boss’s Cadillac is at Cooters with the note on it. When the scaffolding almost falls on him you can see the Cadillac in front of the steps. Then when Boss goes to get in his car he walks over to Cooters and gets the car and reads the note. I’m sure someone else has noticed this but I like noticing new things when you aren’t focusing on it you don’t really notice.

  19. I only watched the scene around the impound yard, but most of those stores are on French Street. You can see towards Boss' bank when the boys escape jail, but the bank is blocked by a truck. You can also see a redressed Rhuebottoms and paint store in the background when Sheriff Little crashes through the fence. The building with the fence is redressed as different businesses in several episodes.

  28. There is one thing I have learned about loss Skipper. There is an old saying "There is no right or wrong way to heal." Do whatever you need to do to bring yourself comfort. Everybody understands loss but there is nobody who completely understands what each individual is going through. This will not be an easy week or even month for you. At the moment it seems like there is no way you will ever get better. Go ahead and feel sorry for yourself and believe that you will never get better. That's completely normal. But a day will come when you will think more about who Ruby was than what her fate was. You will get better. We love you cousin.

  31. (Season 4 Diamonds in the Rough) Bo Duke:"I think he got to much of a head start." Luke Duke:"We're gonna have to take a shortcut or somethin'." Bo Duke:"But we can't take that shortcut. That ain't no road." Luke Duke:"That never stopped you before. So come on." Both together:"Let's take it. Haha!" Bo Duke:"Ya-hoo!" Frank:"They just jumped the road over there." Lisa:"You just take the long way around. You don't drive like they do." Waylon Jennings:"Now honey, they ain't nobody drive like they do!" 😂

  32. I saw it the night it originally aired so my memory might deceive me. It's been awhile. But your question rang a bell and I think I was suspicious of him. The writers did a good job of throwing those curveballs when guessing if someone was good or bad. Most of the time it was predictable but there were enough surprises from past episodes you always wondered on the new ep you were watching.

  33. The first time you ever saw the Season 6 episode Brotherly Love, did you expect Luke's brother Jud Kane to be a fake with a hidden menacing agenda like the English cousin Gaylord Duke in the Season 2 episode Duke of Duke was?

  36. Meadowmufn... I drew it lots of times both with and without the crossed flags behind the back windshield. I do it as a 3D image. I start out with the rectangle of the flag on the roof, and then I fill in the rest of the car. In my drawings, the front, back, both doors, the roof, everything is visible the whole complete car.

Well I know I'm late for DOHD, but better late than never. I was sleeping and didn't make the official holiday. I've been tired lately. I think it's part of my Hernia situation. ( Which hopefully will be over after sept. 3!) They say fatigue is part of it. Anyway, I hope everybody had a great DOHD!!

  39. How long will I cry at bedtime because my Ruby dog is gone? She was only put down yesterday. It was my first night sleeping alone crying. But I found a way to keep her with me. It might sound stupid to some people. Her leash not the one she went outside for potty on, but her bedtime one that made her stay with me all these 14 1/2 years of her life from jumping down to pee or poop in the house at night time, I held it last night. I only meant to hold the metal part of it the chain link part, and the whole thing came untied off the bed post. So I held onto the pink cloth part, stretching the metal out beside me as if she was still there. It takes up the same length that she did from where her head and tail would have been, or tail to head when she was facing me backwards butt first. When I rolled onto my back and left side, I left the whole leash stretched out beside and behind me. Until I fell asleep, I would sometimes rub the metal and then pat it just like how I rubbed and patted her.

  40. I'm just watching S3E01 of 'The Fall Guy', and it reunites Lee Majors with his bionic co-star Lindsay Wagner. While it's mentioned above and in another thread that Jimmie Best taught Lindsay Wagner, her imdb trivia page says that before acting she was a regular babysitter for his children, and it was as a result of this that Jimmie recommended she tried acting classes.

  41. I've just watched that scene about a dozen times and I'm not convinced by this one. Luke and Bo look over their shoulders when they first hear the siren. Luke then looks straight ahead and gradually turns toward Bo as he's talking. When he says "diamonds", he very briefly looks straight ahead before turning to look over his shoulder again. Bo has a couple of quick sideways looks, but I don't think any of Luke's glances are toward an imaginary door mirror.

    Annie's Fanart

Hello! I figured since I might be drawing fanart more often that it would be a better idea to have one thread/topic than to post it all on it's own every time, and I have a really good piece to start it with. It's a drawing I did of Bo with a horse. The song "My Rifle, My Pony and Me" kept coming up on Spotify and I got really inspired for some reason, so I drew the song. (except the rifle, I didn't want to render that much metal AND wood) My friend is a horse girl and she said that Bo would have a Chestnut Quarter Horse Mare named Miss Joanne. It's my biggest project ever, with the multiple subjects and more body than just the head. I had a lot of fun with it, adding a bunch of little details that I'm sure most of them won't be found partially due to the bad quality I had to upload it in so it could fit, but I also think the bigger ones won't be understood. I'm not saying you guys are dumb, I'm saying that I probably didn't make it understandable as a reference and made it look more like just a design choice or a coincidence. Also, apologies for not posting/commenting anything, I haven't known what to say. The only dukes thing I've done/seen/thought of besides this drawing, is I made a wallpaper and lockscreen for a friend. I swear I haven't forgotten about this forum, and I'm still a fan!

  46. I'd like to give a step by step of how I work except I really don't know. I just grab a photo, color pick it, put on a playlist and go for it. I mostly do actors/musicians I like...I would share them but idk if it'd be allowed considering they aren't quite on topic. I tried vector art once when I was in school, it looks great I think, but it's so tedious for me, I just get mad halfway through and forget about it.

  47. Happy 83rd birthday today Cooter. I see you are having a birthday bash at one of your Dukes locations. Have fun. We love you buddy. You might be crazy but you ain't dumb! I just looked up the date I met Cooter. It was a car show in Erie PA on 10-23-82. It was the 30th birthday of his wife (not Alma) and she was with him.
