Thanks for posting the link, Spike. I didn't have time to watch it until now. It looks like you can film General Lee stunts without wrecking '69 Dodge Chargers! To make things easier, here's the video embedded:

Hey y'all! A while back on the Hazzard Square thread I suggested that someone make a thread on the ranches used in Dukes. So I took it upon myself to try and unravel the mystery that is Valencia Oaks Movie Ranch. Hoss kindly supplied me with an aerial photo of the ranch from 1980,so sit back, grab a buttermilk or jug of shine and enjoy!! Here's a link to the history of the ranch http://www.elsmerecanyon.com/lyoncanyon/lyon.htm#sites This is the initial version of the photo that Hoss sent me. As you can see there's a faint outline of the road network Here's a comparison between 1980 and 2005 Now technically I could do a Travis Bell and say that this next picture is my own work, but I got this picture from richardcummins.com Here's the poorly labeled version of the map Hoss sent me. I'll elaborate on this in the future, but this is the basic version of the map

It's interesting that you want to go back to the older layout. With F1's rescheduled 2020 season, they held a grand prix at the Mugello circuit in Italy this year. The track is owned by Ferrari, and is mainly known for hosting MotoGP races, but many fans and pundits said they'd love to see another F1 race there due to the exciting racing it gave us. As F1 chases the money, races have moved away from Europe to the Middle and Far East, which means brand new tracks in most cases. It's such an expensive sport these days, so I can see why it's been necessary, but I always prefer the traditional tracks like Spa-Francorchamps which have been hosting races for 50 years or more. BTW. Thanks for your NASCAR updates, Spike. I know I don't comment on them very often, but I do read them all.

Rumor is since Atlanta's getting repaved they might go back to it's original oval layout, which some of you might remember from the beginning of Smokey and the Bandit. I for one hope that rumor becomes reality, the less of the cookie cutter tri oval 1.5 milers the better.

Just five days after I wrote this, Asda is back under British ownership for the first time since 1999. Walmart has sold all but a minority stake in the company to UK consortium.
