Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion

That farmer in Season 1 Deputy Dukes, who got his truck door knocked off, you know he took to long to get out and get into the Springville Hotel. That's why that happened. When he drove away and came back later, he wasted time sitting there looking both ways before even opening the door to get out. But then, he wasted more time standing there looking both ways again after getting out. He had plenty enough time to step down shut the door and make it to the hotel safely before Bo Luke and the bad guys returned again.

A while back I came across a website that had a lot to do with The Dukes of Hazzard. Featured on that website was a build for someone that had recreated LEE 3 not a model car but a real General Lee. It had tons of information and pictures. I can't seem to recall what the website was. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I suppose it's just the looks and white beard he has. Every time I watch this I just see Uncle Jesse. 😅

Love rewatching the show with Bo and Luke just good time and all, but Coy and Vance as good as they tried to be Bo and Luke's replacement it just didn't work, imo. They were good boys no doubt and very friendly, at least there's that. Some replacements are just painful to watch.

This section should make everyone happy. This is where I will put things from now on, that way if it's not right word for word, 100% screen accurate to what is spoken, Hoss our admin or moderator or whatever his job is here, doesn't have to go to the trouble of correcting it.

Does anyone know? Why did the creators of this show give them that last name? Any particular reason?

In the episode Duke of Duke, Jesse tells Bo and Luke that Gaylord is their 3rd cousin then Daisy adds he is "kin on Grandpa Henshaw's side meaning he ain't blood kin" but his last name is Duke. Does anybody have an explanation for this confusing relation explanation?

I know that they have an outhouse for family tradition and an “inhouse”. I was wondering do they have a shower or just a tub that both Bo and Luke have to lift and carry into the kitchen.

Do y'all think in The Dukes of Hazzard Reunion movie(1997), if the Dukes would've raced Cam and Riker during the General Lee's test run, maybe Cam wouldn't have made them flip over? Maybe he made them flip over because they refused to race him?

45 years ago today The Dukes Of Hazzard premiered on CBS. Happy anniversary to the best show!

I noticed that "The Dukes of Hazzard" had a Smurfette problem. That is the show only had one female main character, as opposed to recurring characters. That meant that the show placed the female characteristics onto one person. My idea would have been, in addition to two male cousins, two female cousins. That would have even out the character traits. What do you think?

Dukes of Hazzard fans who complain about Coy and Vance should just be glad they were given those different names. Warner Brothers could've easily just continued using the original Bo and Luke names. Bo for Byron Cherry and Luke for Christopher Mayer but they didn't. Others done it. Roseanne kept the name Becky while Sarah Chalke replaced the original Lecy Goranson.

Anybody else notice in "Dear Diary" that when Doc Appleby comes to bandage up Uncle Jesse's ankle that it's actually Doc Petticord? I guess at that point, they had changed the character but not the actor yet.

Y'all should check out this guy's channel. He made a great point about the reason he thinks the show is not allowed to be on in reruns anymore. He thinks it's not only the flag fiasco, but the positive message the show puts out as a whole. That message being the government doesn't want its people to know that we can stand up and fight for what's right against a corrupt system. I whole heartedly agree with him!
