With the help of Jeff Foxworthy, I'll remind y'all that Europe isn't a county, but France and Hurgary (and Turkey) are countries.

Congratulations to the England women's football (soccer) team, AKA. The Lionesses, who won the Euros final earlier tonight. Victory came in a dramatic penalty shoot-out when the match ended 1-1 after extra time. This means that they retain the title which they first won in 2022. They beat Spain who won the World Cup against them in 2023. Over the past few years, the English team (men's and women's) have adopted Neil Diamond's 'Sweet Caroline' as an unofficial anthem, so I'll post this to celebrate.

There was rain before the race, and although the cars lined up on the grid, they followed the safety car for a lap before the race was red flagged. Lewis Hamilton and three others elected to start from the pit lane after making setup changes. After a 90-minute delay, the race finally got a green flag with a rolling start. Oscar Piastri got past team mate Lando Norris on the first lap. Lewis also picked up a few places before being the first driver to switch to slick tires. After the rest of the field pitted, Lewis was in the top 10. Lando pitted the lap after Oscar and went for the harder tires. Despite catching towards the end, Oscar's medium tires didn't degrade as much as expected and it finished 1-2 for McLaren with Oscar extending his lead in the drivers' championship. Charles Leclerc held off Max Verstappen to take third and George Russell got fifth. In sixth, Alex Albon had a return to form for Williams, and Lewis got driver of the day finishing seventh after starting 18th. Even with the wet conditions, all 20 cars finished, and only one was lapped by the two leaders. I don't think I even saw a spin, and only a couple of cars briefly left the track. With two cars in the points, Ferrari are now solidly in second place in the constructors' championship, although with less than half the score of McLaren. You can see the race highlights here. There's only a week until the next race in Hungary.

Watching through 'Along Came a Duke' earlier, I remembered that it was the episode which used the Warner Ranch as a filming location - see my earlier posts here. Sadly, all the famous buildings on the ranch e.g. the Bewitched house, the Lethal Weapon house, the Christmas Vacation house, the Friends fountain etc. were demolished a couple of years ago to make way for additional sound stages. I found this video which documents some of the other buildings on the ranch. This longer video shows the buildings mid-demolition, and highlights the ones I mentioned above.

The silver/gray Gran Torino in 'Along Came a Duke' dates from the mid-70s (there were very few exterior changes between 1974 and 1976). It has redundant trim across the roof, so I'm guessing that it once had a vinyl roof of some kind. I think that one of the rocker panels comes off when it rolls, revealing red paint underneath. The car that Luke pulls the bad guys from has body colored door jambs, so either the props guys did a really thorough job respraying the car or there were two different cars used. Did anyone notice how Jeb Stuart Duke fell off his bike when he arrived at the crashed car? The car that Daisy drives in 'State of the County' is a 1975 Mercury Montego - a sister car to the Gran Torino. Although I'm sure that many cars were reused, I doubt that it would have been worth their time reusing a cheap rolled car.

The first time I saw the Season 4 episode with that bad guy Holneek who had the alter ego Harry in his head and went around screaming "You!!!" In that creepy voice, it gave me nightmares. ๐

We've had a couple of weeks without races in F1, but they're back this week with the Belgian Grand Prix - one of my favorite circuits. Most of the headlines have been about how Red Bull sacked their team boss, Christian Horner, a couple of days after the British Grand Prix. He's held the job for 20 years. Various reasons have been given, but apparently it didn't come as a big surprise to many in the team. BTW. He's married to Geri from the Spice Girls. Under the new team boss, Max Verstappen split the McLarens to qualify in second of today's sprint race. He passed Oscar Piastri on the first lap and went on to win the race. Oscar finished second ahead of Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc. There were also good results for Esteban Ocon (Haas), Carlos Sainz Jnr (Williams), Oliver Bearman (Haas) and Isack Hadjar (RB) who all scored points (only the top eight score in sprint races). You can see the sprint race highlights here. For tomorrow's race, Lando took pole ahead of team mate Oscar, with Charles in third and Max down in fourth. Red Bull finally got both of their cars and both of feeder team RB's cars into the top 10. Lewis Hamilton had a terrible time qualifying in his Ferrari. In the sprint race qualifying he was eliminated in the first session after going off the track at the final corner, and in the main race qualifying he exceeded track limits on his fast lap and had his time deleted, also eliminating him in the first session. You can see the qualifying highlights here. We could have another wet race tomorrow (the Spa track is famous for having its own micro-climate), so anything could happen!

I'm in Myrtle Beach for the weekend and we went to a car museum and they had The General! They also had Bandit1 and a 69 Dodge Charger 500 which I think would have been so cool if they painted it like The General Grant. These were all down at Wheels of Yesteryear near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina https://g.co/kgs/VtTVpFn (Also apologies if this is posted in the wrong topic, I'm still kind of learning)

Well spotted, Webb. You seem to have a slightly wider frame than I do as my copy only extends to the lamp. Jimmie was probably meant to stop a foot or two further back when then set up the shot. There are a few other scenes in this episode that were obviously filmed in a studio. I can see a corner in the scenery in one shot, but no edges like you spotted. I noticed something else in the Boar's Nest scene. When Bo sneaks into the back of Rosco's patrol car, the driver's seat is all the way back, so there's hardly room for Bo to get his legs in. We can see the seat in this position as Rosco drives off, but we can't see Bo. When we do see Bo, he's got his whole body between the front and rear seats, so the driver's seat must be about six inches forward. I'm sure Rosco would notice that much movement - I know I would!

How about Les Seymour from 'Dukescam Scam'? We never see him, but the Dukes nearly hit him. As Waylon says: "That's Les Seymour's truck. And old Les can't even drive nails."

99 years ago today the world became a better place because a baby was born who would bring smiles and joy to billions of people around the world for several decades....and many more to come. We love you Rosco. We miss you. I'm sure you are with that Boss of yours hanging out in a Heavenly Hazzard County with that dipstick deputy Cletus. Thank you for the joy and happiness you have brought us.

Jesse looks at Skipper "What in tarnation are you lookin' so glum about Skipper? You came in third place in one of the biggest races these here parts has to offer. And you did it pulling a yacht! Only a first class wheel man could have pulled that off. Not only that but you beat Emmer here. You know how fast she is on that there dirt bike." Emma responded quickly. "I'm sorry Skipper. I hate to be the one to burst your bubble but I could have passed you anytime I wanted. I just liked staying beside Jesse. He sets my heart on fast idle." -
