Nancy JERIS played the doctor in 'Brotherly Love' Chinese restaurants over here quite often offer fruit fritters (pineapple or maybe banana) as their only desserts. I've heard of corn fritters, but don't think I've ever eaten one.

I don't tailgate even when the driver in front is going well under the speed limit. There's just not enough time to react if anything happens. I have also used the slowing down tactic when I've been tailgated.

Some people tell me "You could have avoided that whole Bluenox situation if you'd have bought the Benford Yacht Hat." Um no I wouldn't. While it's true, there'd have been no bait and switch unexpected surprises between Mouse Braid and Gorget because they advertise Gorget Braid and ship Gorget Braid, that's still the wrong braid. I still would've had the same problem and fixing a $78.29 hat was better than having to fix an almost $300 hat at $275.

My number one thing I hate about driving is tailgaters. I get that they are in a hurry but I figure if I'm going to get rear ended I have a better chance of not getting killed if I am going slower....so I slow down if I'm getting tailgated. It also lessens their chance of being killed....but for some reason they don't seem to appreciate my safe driving practices.

I think it was Cooter who walked into a cave and ran out. As I recall they never showed the bear but we heard the growl. -

GENERAL lee ! * Cousin Hoss was talking about Fritters.....does anybody know what a fritter is? It's fruit ( apple, cherry etc.) wrapped inside a piece of dough, sprinkled in sugar. They can make them out of anything really but when Boss was talking about eating Corn Fritters, I thought it was a joke. I've spent every one of my 60 yrs. on this earth, in the south and NEVER heard of a CORN fritter. I thought they were, as they often do, on the show, poking fun of us and our way of life! But......HERE IT IS!! A CORN FRITTER!! I

Ran into a potential Skipper hat-in-the-making at Wal-Mart today! ๐ Spotted an old gentleman rockin' a plain hat just like American Patrol Cap & Canvas Co. โ same Leather motorcycle hat type braid, Gold buttons, and all! Told him, "I like yer hat. You would be Gilligan's Island Skipper. Just needs the anchor and life ring." He patted my shoulder โ guess he's got Skipper vibes! #GilligansIsland #SkipperHat #HatCollector

The Lancaster templates probably won't be sold from American Patrol Cap & Canvas Co.(AP Co./A. P. Co./American Patrol Co.) to anyone else now that American Patrol Co. retired. Because of all these foreign sellers are making Lancaster type style hats selling them on eBay, Amazon and Etsy. Sellers like World Wing, Nasirbhal9, Alimsons, Adgon Militaria. Ones like that Sialkot Pakistani Bluenox hat I have from October 2020. You know, the bait and switch tactics one my mom had to step in and repair. Because Bluenox advertised it as the Alan Hale Jr. Gilligan's Island Skipper style Lancaster Uniform Cap Co. Twisted Knotted Intertwined Mouse Braid rope hat band, but he shipped me a Straight Gorget Braid hat like Benford Yacht Hat sells. The difference is though, Adgon Militaria, World Wing and Nasirbhal9 and Alimsons deliver Mouse Braid as advertised. โค๏ธ for the ones who are doing the hats right with the authentic Twisted Knotted Intertwined Mouse Braid! Lancaster Uniform Cap Co. Brand is really truly dead now after the January 2011 demise after 82 years 1929-2011, and now with American Patrol Co.'s demise. Double whammy for Lancap. ๐ข

Well, unlike the sprint race, the main event got away cleanly apart from a little contact near the back resulting in a spin for Alex Albon. Max Verstappen held his first place off the start, but Charles Leclerc got past Lando Norris. That cost Lando dearly as Charles had the softer, faster tires and that kept him ahead for a large chunk of the race, and allowed Max to build an unassailable lead. Lando did eventually pass Charles, but the positions swapped back at the pit stops. Lando eventually reclaimed the second place he started from. Carlos Sainz's good weekend finished early when he hit Kimi Antonelli and had to retire. Oliver Bearman had a spin trying to pass Yuki Tsunoda, but both finished in the top 10. As I reported last night, Max won the race ahead of Lando and Charles. Singer Shaboozey waved the checkered flag. Lewis Hamilton was having a good race until he had a brake issue with a few laps to go. He just managed to hold onto fourth place ahead of a lacklustre drive by championship leader Oscar Piastri. Oscar is now only 14 points ahead of Lando, but more amazingly he's only 40 points ahead of Max after his two victories this weekend. You can see the race highlights here. Next week it's the Mexican Grand Prix.

I don't do many long journeys, but luckily I don't recall seeing anyone doing that on my recent trip to Galway, although I'm sure it happens regularly over here. Maybe I'm imagining it, but people here seem to drive much more hesitantly lately. I thought it could be the reduced driving during the Covid lockdowns, but that was a while ago now. Sometimes I approach a junction thinking I'll easily get out because there's a huge gap, but the car in front stops dead and waits for nothing. Then there are the drivers who drive at well under the speed limit completely oblivious to the long queue behind them. That's my two cents.

What I'm doing right now, is thinking about how comforting it is to be in Hazzard, or to watch the show. When you run in to a stressful situation, you just, " Head to Hazzard" . You can literally, both while the shows are playing or sitting practically anywhere, get lost in Hazzard, in a much simpler, more relaxing world, where you know everybody and everybody knows you and they all share your opinion on stuff and your view on life! It even helps you sleep. I just close my eyes and think about an episode or make up an episode in my head! Then it's off to La La land until next morning. Hey, We've even discussed other plot episodes etc. on here before! Or what would this character do in this situation, etc. When you can lose yourself in this world and all its infinite possibilities, it makes life easier and more comfortable, enjoyable etc.

All this is true but what it is, is an under development of the Psyche. You know, when you're a kid and you do crazy stuff and then get older and learn to drive and you drive crazy....nothing's going to happen! That happens to other people! ( You ARE other people!) Hey! It's never happened before! I know what I'm doing! It's an adolescent sense of invulnerability Then most people ( SOME people??) as they mature and their brain develops, learn that yes, they to can die and no it's not just other people! 5/15/82! I was a junior in high school, passenger in my friend's car and he was flying and we hit a phone pole. I was in a coma for a week and in the hospital for a month. Some people never fully develop mentally.
