Season 2 Andy on trial Barney:“You asked me if Andy runs a taut ship, Mr. Milton. Well, no he don't. But that's because of something that he's been tryin’ to teach me ever since I started workin’ for him. And that is, when you're a law man and you're dealing with people, you do a whole lot better if you go, not so much by the book, but by the heart.”

Lando Norris was the driver in form in qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix. He took pole ahead of the two Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton with George Russell in fourth and Max Verstappen in fifth. Championship leader Oscar Piastri was off-pace all weekend and only qualified eighth, but started seventh after Carlos Sainz had his grid penalty applied. There's a long run to the first corner, and the drivers arrived there four wide. Max had to cut the corner, but gave the place back to Lando. On lap 6, Lewis and Max were fighting for position when Lewis left the track. Lewis was later given a 10-second penalty for not following the correct route back to the track and gaining an advantage. That pretty much ended his race, although he scored four points for finishing eighth. Oscar lost a few places at the start, but gradually moved up through the field. Oliver Bearman spent a lot of the race in third, and looked like he might take a first podium for Haas. In the end, Lando led every lap and won by 30 seconds. Carlos retired with a few laps to go, and a virtual safety car thrown to allow his car to be moved denied a couple of tight battles on the last two laps. Charles held onto second ahead of a faster Max, and Oliver equalled Haas' best result with his highest ever finish in fourth. It was damage limitation for Oscar who made his way back to fifth. Lando was booed by the crowd during the post-race interviews and prize giving. This was apparently a reaction to the controversial team orders back in Monza, but he just laughed it off. You can see the race highlights here. The win puts Lando in the lead of the Drivers' Championship by a margin of a single point over Oscar. Max is still there in third with a chance to win with four races left. The next race is the Brazilian Grand Prix in two weeks.

This is one of the things that makes Hazzard the best place in the world. We disagree probably less than 1% of the time and even then, it's slight and the rest of the time we're right in there with each other!!

I wish we get a Christine movie. Christine: The Roland D. LeBay Years, or Christine: The Beginning Put everything in it that happens before Arnie Cunningham owned the car. From the time it was built in Detroit up to Roland D. LeBay's death. Everything Roland and his family went thru with that car. Since I know the most about the subject, it would need me as the script writer.

Lando Norris has just won the Mexican Grand Prix ahead of Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen. It's getting late for me, so I'll write a full race review tomorrow.

Yep those are animals. 😀 -
I love the Fall Guy. My wife and I were watching it recently. I have seasons 1 & 2 on DVD. The channel Heroes & Icons was running The Fall Guy but took it off. I was about a third of the way through season 5 and didn’t get to see the rest. I’m not sure if I saw the later episodes in the ‘80s either. Now I have to wait and see if they put it back on the channel again.

Can we include Enos' possum on a gumbush and Cletus' buzzards on a buzz saw? -
Alan Hale Jr. (Skipper Jonas Grumby) always had 14-16 chain links in the original Gilligan's Island series 3 seasons 98 episodes 1964-1967, and the last 2 Reunion movies The Castaways On Gilligan's Island (1979, and The Harlem Globetrotters On Gilligan's Island (1981). First movie Rescue From Gilligan's Island (1978) was just regular lines for loops and ropes on the Midway Cap Co. hat. Lancaster Uniform Cap Co. of the original series and last 2 movies was Gold Bullion Wire hand embroidery. The first movie was machine made sewn on patch regular threads. No chains style. His chain link hats never surpassed 16 in count. Some use 20 which is way too many for Alan Hale Jr. and that show. Those ones who use 20 chains is because they do 4 in the loops and 6 in the ropes. American Patrol Cap & Canvas Co. (AP Co./A. P. Co./American Patrol Co. Which made hats using Lancaster templates) Used 20. Lighthouse Uniforms uses 20. Lancaster Brand varied but not that much. 14-16. Benford Yacht Hat varies with 14-16. Alan had 14 sometimes 16. Never past 16.

crawdads (does Cousin Alice count as a critter?) -
Once again I disagree but I could disagree with Hobie about everything imaginable and would still love him like a cousin. That's how things work in Hazzzard.

Equal OPPORTUNITIES law The plot device in 'OFFICER Daisy Duke'. One of the channels here is currently airing 'The Fall Guy'. They're now up to midway through the final season (season 5), and it's quite possible that I never saw these later episodes in the '80s, and if I did it was nearly 40 years ago! Only the first two seasons have been released on DVD, so I'm taking my chance to catch up. At the beginning of the show's run, Colt took assignments from bail bondswoman Samantha "Big Jack" Jack played by Jo Ann Pflug (AKA. Helen Hogan from 'Route 7-11'). For seasons 2 to 4, the bail bondswoman was Terri Michaels played by Markie Post. What I'd forgotten/never knew is that that the bail bondswoman in the final season was Pearl played by Nedra Volz. She only actually appeared in five episodes, but she's mentioned in several others.
