The Ferraris looked fastest in practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix at the weekend, but it was World Champion Lando Norris who took pole in his McLaren. Both Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) and Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) got 3-place grid penalties for separate incidents in qualifying. Off the line, Lando initially got a perfect getaway, but went wide a few corners in and lost the lead to his team mate Oscar Piastri. Both Ferraris also got good starts as did Max Verstappen. These five then swapped positions a bit though different pit strategies, and Lando managed to take back the lead from Oscar. Sadly for Oscar, his gearbox failed on lap 56 (of 70) and he had to retire from second place. At the flag, Lando took his first win of the year followed by Max. Kimi recovered well to take third, and after Lewis managed to pick up a pit lane speeding penalty, he was demoted to fifth behind Charles Leclerc. That's still four different teams in the top four places. You can see the highlights here. Kimi has now extended his lead to 50 points over Lewis, which is two race wins. F1 now takes its annual 4-week break, during which time the factories have to shut for two weeks to give their globe-trotting staff a break. One bit of extra F1 news today: if there's still war in the Middle East at the end of the season, the finale will be held in Europe.

I'm sadly back to using this thread for an obituary. The news broke just before midday that Irish musician Glen Hansard had died in a motorcycle accident this morning at 56 years old. He was lead singer with The Frames, but also sang solo, acted and championed new music. Most of the radio since lunchtime was devoted to playing his music and music he liked, as well as voice notes with memories of Glen. I started to feel like I was the only person in the country who didn't have a great story about meeting him. The song below came in at #31 in the Today FM top 100 Irish songs (mentioned above). As I said above, Glen also acted and appeared in Alan Parker's famous BAFTA-winning movie 'The Commitments' in 1991. In 2006 he was in a small independent movie called 'Once'. The song 'Falling Slowly' with Marketa Irglova from the movie won Glen an Oscar in 2007. I'll admit, his music has mainly passed me by, but all the good stories today have made me want to look into it.

Here are a couple of images from 'Officer Daisy Duke'. The beer is a Cuban brand called Hatuey Oscura, although I can't find this exact poster. My Google searches haven't found any matches for the other two yet, so they may have been made for the show. The Nesel Wine neon sign gets smashed during the fight.

Where were you all at on this day when the terrorist attacks started? I had just started my 9th grade Freshman year in highschool. I was in Science class. I was 14 at the time. I'm now 39.

Hello, trying to figure out what some of the items are on the Boars Nest wall. In season 2 you could see a blue neon sign that looks like it says "Nesel" next to a poster with two women that sayd "From Me to You". In episodes 17 and 18 season 2, you could see them. Curious if anybody has ever figured out what those were. Also curious about a sign near the door in those episodes with a little Indian who looks to be holding a beer tray. It seems to be written in Spanish. Thanks

It's originally by The Band. But I have to admit I don't know and never heard their version. -

This is so cool to see someone discovering Tom's version of CC for the first time. I remember when it first come out. I couldn't get it out of my head. Not that I'm complaining! I still love it so much. Looks like it's stuck in my head again! -

Hello Tony Trout. If you have Facebook create an album for them title it Dukes Filming Locations or The Dukes of Hazzard Filming Locations or Dukes of Hazzard Filming Locations and upload the photos there, then you can free up storage by deleting them from your device. -
Good to have you back cousin Roger! I was beginning to wonder where you were! I almost sent out the Hazzard County Rescue Squad to find you! ( I'm a member you know!) Well fellow Hazzardites, I hope you all are enjoying the international holiday! Dukes Of Hazzard Day !! ( Happy DOHD!! ) I'm just about to earn my name, Hobie Hartkins....? I 'm sitting here looking at 3 cans of Natural Ice. I'm now drinking my first can and am preparing to watch my first episode! Just hold on with bated breath ( LOL! ) and I'll be back in a while and let you know what episode, in case you want to watch with me! I must confess and I hope this isn't a sin in Hazzard, but I'm waiting to watch the Jeopardy Celebrity show ( I gotta do SOMETHING to stimulate my IQ!) and then....it's off to Hazzard! What are you guys doing on DOHD???

Great, great photos & awesome memories of a wonderful show! And, I agree completely that you did a wonderful job of finding these pictures!!! The only problem? I'm going to have to buy a much larger external HDD to save these!!! ROFL!!! -
Just got HazzardNet back. They've been putting fiber optics in and there have been all kinds of issues. I think everything is good now. I'll catch up on posts later.

I'm closing this thread. The last post was 5 years ago up until today. Let's keep HazzardNet a politics-free zone. Politics can get pretty heated and I don't want political arguments here, just good vibes. Feel free to argue over the true paint code of the General Lee as much as you want.

I'm very surprised at how screen accurately detailed The Alan Hale Gilligan's Island Captain Skipper Jonas Grumby vinyl Funko Pop figure is. They even put his Captain Skipper Hat crooked titled on his head. 😲The only inaccurate thing though is the Navy Blue hat that like other merchandise like this uses. Should be Black. Otherwise perfect to a T with dotted I.

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
Hobie Hartkins replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
For reasons I won't get in to, the Confederate flag, which is totally fine and serves as a symbol to a noble cause, is being hidden, changed glossed over etc., even by sites and people who should know better and who are playing into the enemy's hands. This is why I've lost respect for Skynyrd and other web sites, and public figures who are cowards by bowing to the Leftist power.
