  2. The trio correctly identified the square as the filming location of 'The Music Man' and 'The Gilmore Girls' (both already mentioned in this thread), and then Cathy says "and then didn't they film, um, Opie, uh, what's that, not Happy Days, um ...". She never finished the sentence and never mentioned Andy Griffiths, but it's fair to assume that that's what she was referring to as Ron Howard's character was Opie Taylor (and he was in 'Happy Days'). Exteriors for "The Andy Griffith Show" were mainly filmed at the RKO 40 Acres/Desilu backlot in Culver City, about 45 minutes south of the Warner Bros' backlot. I can't find any evidence of Andy Griffith filming in Burbank. The video below shows what's now standing where the backlots were, and mentions several other shows and movies that were filmed there. It also shows the former Desilu Studios in Hollywood. There's a brief Dukes tie-in at around 12:32 when they show a still of James Best from the 1959 movie 'Verboten!'.
  3. It's a similar model early '50s Ford F-1 truck, but I very much doubt that it anything to do with Sanford and Son. I can't see any connection between Sanford and Son and Warner Brothers. The truck is also in very good condition and has a red grille, whereas the Sanford and Son truck was tatty with a silver grille. While it could've be restored, I've read that the Sandford and Son truck was bought by a real-life junk yard owner.
  4. Looks like a 1975/76 Plymouth Fury, like some of the patrol cars.
  5. HossC... The audio and on camera commentaries of Season 3 'And in This Corner, Luke Duke' by Tom Wopat (Luke Duke), John Schneider (Bo Duke) and Catherine Bach (Daisy Duke) mentions some of The Andy Griffith Show was filmed at the Hazzard Square set. Is it true?
  6. Season 7 No More Mr. Nice Guy. Bo and Luke are chasing one of the bad guys and a bad girl who is their partner. The bad guy and girl escape the train, General Lee stops on the tracks. The lights are flashing with the ding ding ding sound the railroad crossings make. Luke:"What'd you stop for?" Bo:"I didn't. The General did." They look at each other and hurry up and get out the windows. Luke runs to the back. Bo reaches in and puts it in gear so it will roll forward when they push. Luke (Before Bo joins him to help push.):"Put it in neutral, dummy!" It freezes for the commercial. Waylon Jennings:"Now, boys, I know you've been pushin' yer luck. But, that was just a warm up fer the pushin' you better be doin' now." They make it just in time. The train comes by honking its horn. Bo (Yelling at the driver):"Thanks a lot Wendell!"
  7. Dukes of Hazzard Fun Fact: Did you know? The General Lee's iconic Confederate flag decal was sometimes made using a surprising material... white cloth medical tape! That's right, the white rectangle and 13 stars and white outline around the blue border where the stars went were crafted with tape, not paint or vinyl. Mind. Blown. 8. Y'all... I spotted Fred and Lamont Sanford's truck of Sanford and Son in The Dukes of Hazzard Season 3 Uncle Boss(filmed in Season 2 aired in Season 3.) The truck can be seen in Hazzard Square when Rosco starts chasing Luke & Cooter when he thinks they're running moonshine, after he saw them load the trunk with the boxes, after Uncle Jesse's disguised voice phone call tip off to him. In the clip, the truck can be seen at 0:03.
  9. Y'all... What kind of car is Jamie Lee Hogg's Brown car?
  10. Tough day for me yesterday. The guy who killed my daughter in the head on collision was sentenced. I'd rather not give details but thanks again for all your support. Hard to believe it's been almost 2 years now.
  11. All right. Garrett is in. It wouldn't be a Moonshine 400 without Garrett. If we don't get confirmation from MM we are just putting her in Rosco's patrol car and we'll put Hoss in an orange F1 car.
  12. RUNNIN' shine
  13. I'm still irritated that the local news didn't mention the Petty boys were coming. Maybe they were worried the crowd would be too big. I see King Richard is 87....hard to believe.

  22. Robert Morse also made a movie version of 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying' in 1967. I mentioned how the title of his Dukes episode parodied the title of the movie when I posted a screengrab of Robert from his 1965 movie 'The Loved One' - you can see it here.
  23. Right ON!! Totally Tubular!! LOL!
  24. Santa Claus!!
  25. I heard John Schneider on the General's P.A. system, driving through town, a few years ago. This guy here in Sparta owns a General and they seem to be buddies!
