  1. Hey Y'all! Thanks, artykidd! That really is helpful...it was nice that I actually (kind of) understood what you were saying. I do have one of those manuals for the vehicle, I actually got it as a birthday gift a couple years ago. Well, I started out reading it, but it was kind of like a foreign language... I didn't understand it very well. I guess I must be one of them people that has to actually work on something to understand it... only thing is I'm afraid I might do something wrong and wreck the Bronco even more. I'm kind of paranoid that I'll do something wrong and when I go to start it, it'll explode or blow the engine or something aweful like that... I'd cry! (besides that I get teased that if I took it over a little bump that the whole vehicle would fall apart and the only thing left would be the driver seat and the steering wheel!) Anyways, thank you to everyone who's been trying to help me... I really appreciate it! You all are really knowledgeable in this area, and I really, REALLY appreciate all of the help you've given me. Thank you so much! General Grant
  2. Thank You, TimDuke, that really helps out a lot! I should probably just junk that old Bronco and get a better vehicle... but I like it too much! Everyone thinks I'm crazy (and no, I'm not trying to fuel the fire here for Roger!) but you CAN get attatched to a machine! Hey, the Dukes are attatched to their General Lee! As for my psychological state... its not like anyone has ever called me crazy! Hey, it takes one psychological nutcase to know one! So ha! ha! ha! I learned that from the best (ahem, ahem, Roger...) It is just aweful that a sane person, such as myself, has to defend themself against two complete nutcases! Maybe that wasn't the right thing to say to help my case... it means even the cazies think I'm crazy! UGH! I'm sure it is hard to understand what I was trying to say about what is wrong with the Bronco, but thank you, Tim for trying to help, but it looks like I'm just going to get bombarded by insults about my psychological state by two certain someones I know... Oh, I'm hurt... No, I'm just kidding. Oh, Laura, you have NOT warned me about my mental state, I've been warning you... about yours! I think maybe you have been hanging around Roger too long and have been picking up some bad habits from him... or maybe Roger's been picking up bad habits from you... you two are the nuts in this tree, not me! I'm a perfect angel! That was a good dig, though, Roger! CONGRATS! I read it and looked like this: Then I read Laura encouraging it and looked more like this Okay, I'll zip it now... all in fun, though! Seriously, though, thank you so much for the help, Tim. I have anothe question though... what is a universal joint?! I should just go take an automotive mechanics class... Before I say something that makes me look like an even bigger blundering fool than Roger and Laura have made me look, I'll stop! Bye for now! General Grant, the psychological nutcase- not that I'm admitting it there, just playing along with your little games!
  3. Hey artykidd! My day was pretty good. I got up this morning (always a plus!) and it was 32 degrees out. I thought it was a good thing that I drained the water hose yesterday or I would have had to get the ice out of it. Then I did the barn chores, and was very glad that it was cool as opposed to hot! And now, I'm thinking about going out to sit in a tree for a couple hours (bow hunting) How was your day?
  4. Hey Y'all! Okay... I need help. If there's anyone out there that is knowledgeable about vehicles, please help! Okay, I have a 1982 (I think!) Ford Bronco XLT. Right now it's in a state of slight disrepair. Basically where should I start? Last time I looked (last summer ) it did start, but I'm not sure. Its just an old farm truck, so the battery gets removed and it gets parked behind the barn for the winter. But anyways, it "clunks" when you drive it (it is a manual transmission, four wheel drive) And the liner on the ceiling is falling down. I am working on gluing it back up, or something. (I don't know how to work on cars... most I've done is add some gas/oil and pump the tires ) So, does anyone have any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and please use language for simpler folk like me who couldn't tell you the difference between the sparkplug and the air filter! General Grant
  5. That is absolutely adorable! If there is any way possible, you should send that to John Schneider. It looks like it could be him as a youngster! I just loved it! Hey, if at all possible, anyone who goes in a Dukes theme for Halloween this year should try and post pictures of it. Just a thought... Anyways, thank you so much for posting that! It made me smile! I like the 01 goodie bag, too! Oh, daisydukeXenosstraight... I'm sorry, I don't really have any suggestions. I guess I never really thought about it, and anyways, I'm not real creative. Sorry Again, thank you for the picture! I enjoyed looking at it! General Grant
  6. Thank You, Meadowmufn! I was wonderin' if that really was a spammer that I reported! I don't understand how people can be so (looking for a word that isn't too rude, so I'll settle on this: ) ignorant. Why can't they just leave this site alone? I mean, do they think that it is fun to come in and try to "Vandalize" something that another person has worked so hard to maintain the integrity of. Really, it is the same as vandalizing. Maybe them spammers will see this thread and do this: I doubt it, though!! Anyways, thank you to all the moderators for all of the hard work you put in to maintain the integrity of this site. General Grant
  7. Okay, Here I go again, I'm going to jump in on this too... First off, I think that Kay has every right to express her opinions on here, and I think that we should all be respectful of that. Not that anyone has been disrespectful up to this point, I'm just saying that is what the Dukes would do. I haven't been "updated" on everything Tom Wopat does from day to day, so I'm not sure where I stand on this because I have'nt really heard any details or anything. But, I will agree with Kay on what WAS he thinking? I mean, drugs and alcohol aren't the answer to problems, pain, and depression (not that I know if he has any of those) But, I also don't know the story behind this. Was this his first time using drugs? Maybe he was desperate, or in a "wrong place wrong time" scenerio. I don't know, maybe it is beside the point. But I do agree with Kay that it was wrong of him to do. Do I think that he is some horrible monster or terrible man? No, but then I always think of him as Luke, also! We all make mistakes, I know I've made my fair share of them, and I would want someone there to tell me that what I did was wrong, but that they will help, support, and reserve judgement on me. Although I know that is Really hard to do. I have to keep myself in check on that a lot. DaisyMae, that was excellently put. You really have a lot of understanding for this issue, esspecially the parts about not judging him, and supporting him. But, until all of the facts and details are clear to me (and this has a while to sink in!) I can't really comment on this issue. All I can do is say I totally 100% disagree with taking drugs, esspecially illegal drugs, whether it is one gram, or a whole truck-full of drugs, I think it is wrong. I don't think that he should get it any easier because he's a celebrity. I certainly hope that he does find the straight and narrow, but for now I can't see having respect for taking drugs, although I'm not sure whether he actually took them or not. Not only does it hurt the person taking them, it impacts everyone around them. I did think that was kind of questionable of the writer of the article to drag down the entire show because of that. Of all of the role and characters he's portrayed, I wonder why they attacked the Dukes. It seems to me that is all they did, they really didn't include much information on this whole line of events. Basically, before I ramble any more than I have, I'm just saying my opinion is this... I think that we are all entitled to an opinion here. Tom Wopat did the crime (Wow, that was hard to say...) and he accepted the consequences (at least that is what It sounded like in the article) So, it is really a mute issue. Whether Tom can ever regain his status or respect levels is a personal decision by each and every "Tom Fan" I do wish the well, and I hope that he can come back around and resolve any issues that would lead him to this, but only he can do that. The only thing us Hazzardites can do is support him, and encourage him as he tries to do just that. Hopefully I didn't come off as rude or anything, that is really the last thing that I want to do. I just thought I would jump in on this discussion, and before I knew it, thoughts began flowing, I hope that this post doens't end up TOO long I really enjoyed reading all of the different opinions and thank you everyone for stating them and keeping respectful towards everyone else. That is a great thing about the people of this site, they have been respectful to those that have differing opinions from them time and time again. Thank you so much for that, it really means a lot to me and I think it makes people feel more at ease for stating their opinions. Okay, I'm rambling again and getting off topic, so I'll let it go at that. Thank you everyone for your thoughts on this! General Grant
  8. HA! (laughing!!) Good one, Roger! I like that! Very clever!! General Grant
  9. Oh, thank you, Laura, for that really nice compliment! I still can't say how much I like that paper! It was wonderful! I think you hit on something, DixieRoss! I think that may be why so many people (esspecially them country folk) love the Dukes of Hazzard. A lot of shows emphasize that the more you own, the happier you are. Well, it usually don't work that way. I think a lot of people realize that family is absolutely everything! Thanks for pointing that out, DixieRoss! Oh, Roger, how are the allergies?! Looks like DixieRoss may have a touch of the Allergies, too, watery eyes is a real big symptom I'm hearing about! Sorry, I couldn't help myself, y'all probably knew I was goin' to get a joke in there about Roger (and DixieRoss, too) getting an "allergy attack" on this thread! General Grant
  10. Wow, Roger! I didn't know that your allergies seem to pop up everytime you read a post like Lori's! I hope you aren't allergic to the Dukes No, just kidding. I'm sure you would go absolutely insane if you found out you were allergic to the Dukes and couldn't watch them anymore, or read the posts on Hazzardnet, or listen to the theme song, or look at pictures.... Anyways, things have been pretty busy, so it is really nice talking to everyone on here. Hope to talk to you soon. General Grant
  11. Well said, Lori! I was both amazed and (I'll admit it!) touched by that. You really have a wonderful gift of being able to put down your thoughts and feelings into words. That essay was magical to us Duke fans! Thank you so much for sharing that, it was truly amazing. Not to sound snoopy here, but it would be interesting to know what you get. If you get anything less than an A I'll be forced to join Uncle Jesse in his trek down to your school to have a talk with that teacher of yours! Anyways, not to get carried away, but that essay brought out a sense of pride (I'm sure in all of us) as well as an almost overwhelming desire to give a little "YEEEEHAW!" and sound that ol' Dixie horn. Thank you so much for the great work, it was a blast reading it. That there showed true talent! Now, I think I'll join Roger in that standing ovation! (need a facial tissue, Roger? You always do get choked up when someone says something nice about the Dukes!! Oh, well... So Do I! But only on the inside! ) General Grant
  12. Oh, no! I think I might be the only person here who doesn't have a favorite character! I really think that each and every character is dependent on every other character on the show. If that made any sense! But I really like all of them, they all have their good qualities. Even mean ol' Sheriff Little! I really enjoyed reading this thread, though. I think it is so interesting how everyone finds a character that they can relate to! General Grant
  13. Happy Birthday Ben and Cooter! I just popped in to say Happy Birthday to Enos, and like I said over there, I'm late! I just hate when that happens! Anyway, I hope you had a nice day! General Grant
  14. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ENOS AND SONNY!!!! I'm late, as usual, but better late than never I guess. I hope you had a wonderful day! General Grant
  15. Okay, I have a question for you now! If you threw a Dukes of Hazzard Birthday Party, did you by any chance make a "Dukes" themed cake? If you did, could you maybe post a picture or some instructions on here. I'm thinking about doing that for a birthday that is coming up. Anyways, I couldn't get the site to load. I'm supset because everyone is saying how great the picture looks, and I can't see it! I'm sure it was awesome, though! General Grant
  16. Hey artykidd! WOW! Those are very good! I really like the paintings of the wildlife. Are those from photos, or did you create those off hand? I don't know how you can do that! It's amazing! They are really great! Looking at those pictures done brightened my day Again, those are really wonderful. I wish I had some talent like that! If I tried painting the only thing I'd end up with is a big mess! Anyway, I really enjoyed looking at those. You really have a wonderful talent! Can't wait to see those other pictures you didn't post yet General Grant
  17. Hidy Y'all!

I'm doing great, and I hope that everyone else is having a wonderful week!!

  18. Okay, I'm going to chime in here again! First off, kit, I don't know if people are putting down Byron and Chris so much as they are just giving their thoughts about Coy and Vance. I, personally, cannot blame people for not liking Coy and Vance, I understand what they are saying. I personally think they were okay on the show. And Laura, you are most certainly entitled to your opinion, as is kit, and I respect you for stating it in such a respectful way. The characters Coy and Vance stepped in so Bo and Luke could fulfill their dreams. But the people, Byron and Chris, I don't think are the ones on the discussion. Does that make any sense? (sometimes I know what I'm trying to say but it doesn't come out to make sense!) I, also, have not met Byron and Chris, so I don't know what kind of people they are, but I am not in this discussion to judge them. If it ever sounded like that, I apologize. I'm here because I'm discussing Coy and Vance. They (coy and vance) are fictional characters (as much as I hate to say that!) and Byron and Chris are real people. I think maybe sometimes we could possibly take Coy and Vance as reality? I think that we as fans and they (the writers/creators) should have portrayed more "duke like actions" with the whole circumstance. We should have taken Uncle Jesse's path and accepted them ( this is solely my opinion) but even Uncle Jesse or Daisy (I don't remember which) said that Coy and Vance wouldn't be the same as Bo and Luke. (I think) I don't think that anyone is acting stupid about this, or that anyone is being judging to putting them down. This discussion started out about which character (coy or vance) you liked better. Some people simply stated that they didn't like either, they liked Bo and Luke. To all of you who stated that, it is your right to say, and your opinion. I thank you for saying it with the respect you showed. No one should be getting put down for their opinions IF they say them in a respectful tone. Isn't that putting into practice what 7 (glorious) years of the Dukes tried to utilize. I don't recollect the Dukes being rude to someone for not sharing thier opinion, and neither should we. Not that we should do everything that the Dukes do...like blow up outhouses and the like!! I don't think we should put Tom and John down (and if I have done that I aplogize, that wasn't my intent, and looking back I can see that I maybe did that, I apologize for that. How do we know that Tom and John got greedy? Well, at any rate, I hope that everyone learned something from the whole Coy and Vance charade. And I think that Coy and Vance, by the end of the season, were beginning to develop personalitites, as small as they were! And to answer a comment you made, Laura, no, I don't think you are stupid. Anyway, y'all keep them opinions and thoughts rollin'! General Grant
  19. Alrighty... You're right, Laura, I am groaning... I know you well enough to know that anything you have to say about Coy and Vance is likely to send you into tears!! (that's how you look when you see the opening credits with Coy and Vance, right?!) Anyways, on to the discussion at hand- I am sure that they knew they were going to "replace" someone. Coy and Vance aren't really replacements, though, are they? If the creators wanted to replace Bo and Luke couldn't they have just as Easily found better look-alikes and given the new actors the characters of Bo and Luke? They didn't do that, I think they got one blonde and one dark haired guy with similar "Bo and Luke personalities" just to give the viewers a sense of familiarity so these new "strangers" didn't seem so strange and unknown to us. Who knows, maybe I'm way off base there. But I'm not sure that was the intent to make the new characters Just like Bo and Luke, I think it was more so the viewers could sense some familiar personalities and feel more "at home" with the whole change, as drastic as it was... Quick Rise to fame?!?! If that is what they thought, then I am not sure that they have the brilliant minds of a Duke IF (and I did say if) that was the case, I guess we all blew that one down the drain. Instead of fame they got something more like this... whenever their names appeared in the credits! OH, and just so I don't disappoint you, Laura, "YOU'RE AWEFUL!!!" No, just kidding there, bad joke! Thanks for your opinions, and keep them rollin' it is always a pleasure to read all of the thoughts and opinions of so many different people, esspecially when they handle themselves so gracefully like y'all have done! General Grant
  20. Hey Roger!

  23. Hey, Y'all! I got to the point of having NO notifications, and the number of users chatting thing appeared. Thanks, MaryAnne, for putting that idea in my head, it worked! Oh, and thanks, meadowmufn, for being so considerate as to take the time to find out what us hazzardites want. That is so thoughtful of you. Not many moderators or sites would do that! Thanks! General Grant
