Meadowmufn
Happy New Year, all! Yeah, Christmas seemed to fly by this year. Had a great one, though, so I can't complain. No real Christmas blues for me this year. I'm looking forward to the new year with unbridled optimism.
RogerDuke
Optimism is always a good thing MM. I suspect my post Christmas blues will start to kick in Monday but I've been fine lately. I'm still listening to Christmas music. In fact Dean Martin is singing as I type this. Happy New Year! Spike
My Christmas Blues kicked in last Friday when the wife & I took down the Christmas tree and decorations, wasn't a white Christmas here this year either which was a bit depressing. RogerDuke
I feel your pain. I have a serious case of the blues now. It just seems like it ends as soon as it begins. I can't wait until I'm saying "wow the Christmas decorations are going up already!"
RogerDuke
Still got them! I wonder what the record is for having them. I wish everybody would get all their decorations down. That would help me to not think about it.

I suppose we should probably take it down soon. I think our record is still having it up on Valentine's Day. LOL!
RogerDuke
That reminds me of the Redneck woman Gretchen Wilson who leaves her Christmas lights on all year long.
RogerDuke
Its official. I've finally gotten over the post Christmas blues. So that means you folks can stop sending me those get well cards.
RogerDuke
Now its really official. I just deleted the 8 hours of Christmas music I had on the dvr from Sirius satellite radio on Dish Network. I feel good. Now I have to wait for the snow to melt so I can get the dirt bike going again.
RogerDuke
Judging by how I felt last year it looks like I have a couple more weeks before I shed the post Christmas blues. I needed until late January.
Hobie Hartkins
Yea, Christmas is very anti-climatic.....I mean you spend all that time ( a couple months really), building up to it and then there it is...... and then.....it's over!! RogerDuke
I don't even wait until Dec 26 to get the blues. I start getting them the evening of Dec 25 since I know it's almost over. I'm still playing Christmas music a little bit even now in mid Jan but I'm sure when Feb 1 comes around I'll have it out of my system. Meadowmufn
They still have Christmas lights (blue and green, of course) up at Centurylink Stadium and I walk past them every day after work. It gets me a little sad, since it's a reminder that the holidays are over.
Meadowmufn
I just remembered that I took a photo of it tonight.

It took me a whole month again.
Spike
It finally feels like winter here again with temps in the 20s & 30's and snow on the ground . We set a record here for one of the top 5 warmest January's and a new record for most consecutive days above freezing, 9, almost made it to 10 straight but the 10th day's low was 30. Also had one of the rainiest January's, nearly 4 inches of rain when the normal is around 1 inch of rain.
RogerDuke
I just had my first bout of post-Christmas blues. The radio station I listen to starts their 24 hour Christmas music on Thanksgiving and ends it on Dec 27 so on the way home tonight (the 26th) I got sad listening to the last Christmas song I'll hear on their station until Thanksgiving of 2019. I'm so pathetic. Meadowmufn

Most folks celebrate Christmas until Jan 2 so I don't know why the radio station stops celebrating so soon. It's a classic rock station and I only listen to classic country so I only listen to it for the month they play Christmas music.

Boss JD Hogg
Taking the tree down and all the decorations always makes the house feel empty. We leave the decorations up till mid January but it still feels empty after they are put away. We put the tree up on November 17th every year. It's a tradition and it's nice having a decorated Christmas tree up for Thanksgiving.

That station was still playing Christmas music today. I wonder if a lot of people were calling in and requesting they play it longer. I didn't but I wouldn't be surprised if others did. I still have Christmas songs in my head way after Christmas. My wife takes the tree down a week into January. She knows I don't like doing it. Meadowmufn
My sister takes the tree down the day after Christmas. We leave ours up at least halfway through January. I don't like it to end either, Roger.

It's always funny how everybody says Christmas comes earlier and earlier but it seems like right after they say that it is over already. I guess time seems to go faster when you get older.
