Hobie Hartkins Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I heard John Schneider on the General's P.A. system, driving through town, a few years ago. This guy here in Sparta owns a General and they seem to be buddies! RogerDuke and Garrett Duke 1 1 Quote

I remember watching a race back in Gordon/Johnson was racing . . . they were at Atlanta and John Schneider was the Grand Marshall. I got super excited. He needs to do it again. HA. RogerDuke Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I'm still irritated that the local news didn't mention the Petty boys were coming. Maybe they were worried the crowd would be too big. I see King Richard is 87....hard to believe. Garrett Duke and Hobie Hartkins 2 Quote
Hobie Hartkins Posted May 9 Posted May 9 True but I remember when /king Richard was hot in NASCAR and I was like, 8, 9 yrs. old.....doing the math that's 50 yrs. ago ( I'm 59) , then he would've been all that at 37! RogerDuke 1 Quote

I heard it at the last minute and was lucky enough to go. Makes you wonder if it's on them and it's their way of saving money? IDK. When I went, I don't think Richard Petty was there. It was just Kyle Petty and a bunch of guys I didn't know. LOL. It was neat and odd at the same time. LOL RogerDuke and Hobie Hartkins 1 1 Quote

It's the biggest truck stop around (Interstate 90) but it's still a truck stop with limited room so maybe they don't want too many people. Garrett Duke 1 Quote

So I'm sure space was limited as well. They handed out bandanas. I think I still have it. RogerDuke 1 Quote
Garrett Duke Posted May 11 Author Posted May 11 NASCAR raced in Kansas this week and it looks like Kyle Larson dominated the race and won the race. It's always great to see team Hendrick in Victory Lane. I just can't wait until it's Chase Elliott. LOL . (I apologize. I had to put my two cents worth there. ) Here is the race results for today's race: NASCAR Cup Series at Kansas Speedway Live Leaderboard, Results, & Updates Hobie Hartkins and RogerDuke 2 Quote

He's probably not going to get very far in the Moonshine 400. Those civilized NASCAR drivers are used to races that actually have rules. Hobie Hartkins and Garrett Duke 2 Quote

HossC Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Apologies for the lateness of my F1 review - I've had a busy week! Here's what happened at last weekend's Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola, Italy. The McLarens looked to have the pace all through the three free practice sessions, but could only manage first and fourth on the grid (Oscar Piastri ahead of Lando Norris). They were split by the Red Bull of Max Verstappen and the Mercedes of George Russell. Neither Ferrari made it into the top 10, which disappointed their fans so close to their factory. The other Mercedes driver, 18-year-old rookie Kimi Antonelli, grew up near the track and had invited many friends and family to the race, but could only qualify 13th. Oscar made a good start, but Max got around him almost immediately. Lando had to wait until lap 11 to pass George and set off after his team mate. Oscar pitted early, and then Lando pitted just before Esteban Ocon's car pulled off to retire from the race, bringing out a virtual safety car. That gave Max and many others an easy pit stop and shook up the order. Lewis Hamilton, who'd been stuck behind Kimi since the start, finally managed to pass him on lap 34, and continued to make progress through the field. Sadly for his local fans, Kimi had to retire on lap 46. That brought out a full safety car which allowed for more easy pit stops for some. Max held the lead at the restart and went on to win the race. Behind him, Lando and Lewis each overtook their team mates on track. Charles Leclerc briefly passed Alex Albon, but his team told him to give the place back to avoid a penalty as he pushed Alex off the road to make the move. At the flag, the top 10 were: 1 Max Verstappen 2 Lando Norris 3 Oscar Piastri 4 Lewis Hamilton 5 Alexander Albon 6 Charles Leclerc 7 George Russell 8 Carlos Sainz Jnr 9 Isack Hadjar 10 Yuki Tsunoda Lewis said it was the first time he felt at home in the Ferrari after joining the team at the start of the season. You can see the race highlights here. This weekend we're off to the historic Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo. RogerDuke and Garrett Duke 1 1 Quote
RogerDuke Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Dirt bikes have the weekend off. They just finished up Supercross where they race in NFL stadiums and will now start motocross where they race longer tracks outside. I like motocross better. I'm planning on heading to the local MX track Saturday. Quote
