I know this probably isn't the right place to post this, but I'm a big believer in the power of prayer, so I hope y'all will forgive me. (Plus, this seems like the type of thing someone would ask the Dukes to do.)

My father is going in the morning for his third heart cath. The doctor really didn't want to do this one, but he says there is no choice.

The first time Daddy had this done, when I was in college, it triggered a massive stroke. The doctor said that, if he had not already been at the hospital with all the equipment ready to go, we would have lost him then. His second one was in December of 2008, following a major heart attack that would most likely have killed him had he not been at the hospital for a different procedure. That one triggered a second, more minor heart attack, and resulted in a triple heart bypass.

I would really appreciate it if y'all would keep Daddy in your thoughts and prayers for the next few hours.

Thank you both so much. Daddy did really well - only one blockage in the heart itself, which they put a stint in, and some problems in his arms. They are keeping him overnight just to be safe. My family and I really appreciate the prayers!

Well this is me probably acting stupid considering the seriousnes here, but if y'all would pray for me to do good on a test Friday I'd appreciate it. I am taking a computer course this year (my senior hs year) and if I pass these three tests then I get CIW certification which is like a web master sort of thing. So I'd preciate it.

Hey, all. I know it seems like I only post on here when there's a problem, and I do apologize for that. I tend to be more of a lurker than a poster, I guess.

I spoke with my best friend of 20 years earlier today. We have been friends so long that we are definitely family. (She is the mother of my five nephews) She is pregnant with number six now and had just come home from her first ultrasound. The news is not good at all. The doctor says that there is a STRONG chance that she will lose this baby. (She has some internal bleeding that is not endangering her, but is a major danger to the baby.) He says that if she is still pregnant in two weeks, he will perform another ultrasound to check for the bleeding. (He's hoping it is just a fluke of some kind) If she is still bleeding then, he will send her to a specialist to try to save the baby.

Needless to say, we really, really need any prayers we can get.

Thank you, everyone. Her name is Kristy, and they have been considering the name Karley for the baby if it's a girl.

I spoke to Kristy yesterday and she said she felt better than she had all week. Maybe it's from all the kind prayers and thoughts!

I just talked to Kristy. Not sure if this is really bad or good. She has started bleeding a lot, all day long. She isn't in any pain, so I'm hoping this means that her body is just trying to fix the problem and the baby is still ok.

She doesn't want to go to the doctor until she is sure she isn't losing the baby. Says they would just dispose of it, and she could not handle that.

I will let y'all know when I find out what's really going on. I know, one way or another, God will fix this.

Kristy needs to go to the doctor, please. Ignoring bleeding isn't going to help the baby or help her. We'll keep her in our prayers , but I'm gonna ask that she meets those prayers halfway by taking care of herself.
