Here's some mid-70s (mainly instrumental) funk:

"You Raise Me Up" ~ Josh Groban

The version by Irish band Westlife is better know over here (no surprise there ;)).

This song reached #3 in the UK charts back in 1991. I'm not sure how well it did outside Europe.

The video above describes the song as "one of the most beautiful songs ever", so I was surprised to find that a "chipmunked" version had been sampled into a track called 'Second Chance' by The Game feat. Eminem.

This video from BBC show 'Top of the Pops' shows band member Jeffrey Daniel premiering a move we now as the Moonwalk. This was about a year before Michael Jackson performed his first one. Daniel went on to work as a choreographer for Jackson.

Can't believe I haven't posted this already:

If you prefer to continue Garrett's Christian theme then you could try a cover with rewritten lyrics by Christian parody band ApologetiX; they called theirs

Okay I'm going to be a weirdo but this song was on 'The Brady Bunch' and wasn't release.

I've only come across the video on youtube and I fell in love. But I'm such a girl to love it. I wish it was released. I think its a good song.

Thanks Hoss. I know I'm going to be doing a tone a weird songs. :)

"At the sound of the tone" ~ John Schneider

Love this song. The first one of his songs that I fell in love with and the first that I got stuck in my head.:-P

Hello darkness, my old friend:

(Original Version from 1964)

K-Duke, you don't have to post a video link (I know some people are still on slow internet connections), but it's nice if you can - this thread introduces me to all sorts of music I've never heard before. Also, don't forget that if you have any songs with single word titles, there's a thread called "One Word Song Titles" over in the "Music" section.

Thanks Hoss for leading me to this song...was so excited when I found I could use this song. This is a Christian song that is pretty big on Christian radio and LOVE it...can listen to it over and over again. Great message. You just made my day.

This is the last track from E's debut solo album 'A Man Called E', recorded a few years before his work with Eels.

I apologize for the video - it's the only one I could find on the whole internet! It's a slideshow tribute for someone's Scottie dog. Don't let that spoil your enjoyment of the song.

I first heard this song on a Disney Greatest album because the song was on the Tarzan movie they made. Apparently there are a few other versions but this has been one I've listened to.
