Garrett Duke Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 A Christian song by a Christian artist. Love this song...great message to it. Trivia info...Jonny has a brother who plays for the Atlanta Braves. Matt Diaz. Must be an athletic family...Jonny coulda played baseball but felt pulled to be a Christain musician. Glad he did...love baseball, but he is great at what he does now. Quote
HossC Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 You're right Garrett, it does have a good message. How about some mellow reggae? There Are More Questions Than Answers - Johnny NashI first heard this song back in the '80s when the BBC used it for the Mystery Personality round in their sports quiz 'A Question of Sport'. The show's still going, but they no longer use this great tune. Quote
HossC Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 I think this is another of Garrett's favorite groups : Quote
Garrett Duke Posted May 20, 2012 Report Posted May 20, 2012 Do like BackStreet Boys...just not as much as the NKOTB. Was awesome seeing them both in concert. Quote
HossC Posted May 20, 2012 Report Posted May 20, 2012 How about a bit of soul?: This 1967 classic is by Aretha's older sister. Garrett Duke said: "Achy Breaky Heart" Billy Ray Cyrus As "Weird Al" would say: You can torture me With Donnie & Marie You can play some Barry Manilow Or you can play some schlock Like New Kids On The Block Or any Village People song you know Or play Vanilla Ice Hey, you can play him twice And you can play the Bee Gees any day But Mr. DJ, please I'm beggin' on my knees I just can't take no more of Billy Ray Don't play that song That "Achy Breaky" song The most annoying song I know And if you play that song That "Achy Breaky" song I might blow up my radio, ooo ... HossC Posted May 28, 2012 Report Posted May 28, 2012 I'll start with the original Motown soul classic: The version I know better is . That's Dave Stewart that did 'It's My Party' with Barbara Gaskin, not the one from Eurythmics. Colin Blunstone is currently back together with Rod Argent doing gigs as The Zombies. Quote
Garrett Duke Posted May 28, 2012 Report Posted May 28, 2012 "You'll Think of Me" Keith UrbanLove Keith Urban's music. He puts so much emotion into each song...especially this song. He sounds so sad in this song...especially when he sings it live. Quote
HossC Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 Apparently a version of this song appeared in the finale of 'House'. I haven't seen it myself; I just know that it isn't Lupus . Quote
Garrett Duke Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 "Put you in a Song" Keith UrbanAnother song that I love...by another favorie Country artist. Quote

HossC Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 We haven't had a theme for a while. Anyone fancy 'song' songs i.e. songs with the word 'song' in the title? Comedy version of . Quote
K-Duke15 Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 "The Campfire Song" SongI'm sorry but I was tempted to put this Spongebob song. Quote
HossC Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 Similar title, very different song: A Campfire Song - 10,000 Maniacs Additional vocals on this track are provided by R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe. Quote
MaryAnne Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 I'm willing to carry on with the "song" theme LOLSong of the Volga Boatmen - Glenn Miller & His OrchestraSnappy instrumental of a Russian traditional from 1941. Quote
HossC Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 There's some great dancing in this if you stick around until the end . Snappy instrumental of a Russian traditional from 1941.Not another one . Quote
Garrett Duke Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 Another favorite Country artist of mine. Quote
HossC Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 I'll use the "the" from Garrett's track to get back on the "song" songs theme: The gnu: the g-nicest work of g-nature in the zoo. Although I'd normally recommend the original of any Flanders and Swann song, is pretty good . Quote
Garrett Duke Posted June 2, 2012 Report Posted June 2, 2012 This is my all time FAVORITE Christian song...LOVE THIS SONG. Don't know what it is about it, but I can be in the worst mood or having the worst day and this song comes on the radio, it turns it all around. Saw these guys in concert and they are great...got Robbie's autograph as well as another band member and was able to tell him what this song means to me. Just awesome. Quote

Garrett Duke Posted June 8, 2012 Report Posted June 8, 2012 This was on their Christmas album...though think it could be listened to all year long. Working at a day care...have to love this song even if it wasn't NKOTB who sang it. Quote
