Does anyone know what kind of car was Uncle Jesse's Sweet Tilly, later called Black Tilly??

I'm not 100% positive, but I believe it was a Ford Mustang.

1st was a 1971 or so Ford LTD, second (2nd Season) was a 1967-1969 Mustang. Probably a 67.

Thank you, Alexrules, I am horrible with years on Fords. Chevy's and Oldsmobiles I can usually make a pretty good guess...but Fords...forget it.

by the way - would that be the black tilly with the long flat trunk or the black tilly with the rounded trunk

i have only seem the one with the rounded trunk in 1 episode - and that was a 30s Mustang i believe

the original is a  1971 Ford Galaxie Custom 500  
I think its the same kind of car Burt Reynolds drove in "White Lightning"

In fact  wonder if it's the same actual car ?

IMCDb has Black Tillie designated as a 1971 Ford Custom 500, but there is some debate about the exact model due to all the chrome being removed/painted over. That is the same make/model and year as the car driven by Burt in 'White Lightning'.

I mean I was wondering if the car they used for Sweet Tilly was one of the cars they used physically in the film "White Lightning

Someone on IMCDb points out that when Roxanne Huntley sniffs the gas tank at the end of 'High Octane', the car's original color appears to be brown. However, given the damage that Burt's car must've sustained in  the chase, especially that hard landing across the back of the barge, I doubt that it would still have been around six years later.

Yes, I also did further digging instead of just wondering. Apparently all of White Lightning was filmed in Arkansas so not very likely that car would end up in Georgia years later. It was a cool thought though.

A friend of mine is a Duke's hazard historian type person and she told me she picked up and research. The reason it didn't happen is because of all the issues going on with the writers and the casting problems so they only had him in that one episode?
