Roger, that's just more proof that you're perfect for the job. KHEE! Tho' MaryAnne is right, the HazzardNet staff is exempt. The good news is, there's plenty of deserving folk here on HazzardNet. You're also not limited to HazzardNet members. We give them first consideration, of course, but I've also awarded fan honors to avid Dukes fans I've met at car shows and at DukesFest, ect. Has anyone read "Best in Hollywood" yet? I got my copy in the mail last week, and I'll be posting a formal review of it on our homepage in the days ahead. But I'm also curious about what everybody else thinks of it. This book is the life and career of James Best, who in Dukes of Hazzard circles, is "Rosco" forevermore. He's done much more in life than chase the Dukes, though, and this book covers his personal history as told by the man himself. I'm nearly finished with the book and I have to say it's an interesting and entertaining read. There's also more than 150 photos in the book that any James Best fan would want to get a glimpse of. Also worth noting: the Filmography listed in the Appendix, was compiled by Meadowmufn. It itemizes Jimmie's acting appearances in movies and television, along with projects where he served as director/producer. I thought I knew a lot about Jimmie's career, but this list showed me how much I didn't know. Again, I'll be posting a formal review soon, but I want everybody to feel encouraged to pipe up with their own reviews. Like any writer, I'm sure Jimmie will appreciate the feedback. TomBo, Great pics as always, thank you for sharing them with everybody here. Sonny is a class act. It's always worth the trip to see him. You've put a lot of hard work into your General and the pride you've taken in the project shows in every photo you've posted. But ya know what, seeing your little guy in there in the General Lee go-cart, while you haul in your deck lid for an autograph, might be the best photo you've posted yet. It says it all. In fact, I'm wondering if you'd give us permission to post that photo on the homepage of HazzardNet in a couple of weeks. It would fit perfectly with a write-up I'm working on. Roger, While you've still got a couple more weeks to wear the Fan of The Month crown, I'm starting to think about our selection for the September Fan of the Month. Then I started thinking about the whole program and how inconsistent we've been with it. Ya see, with my day job pressures and the shrinking amount of personal time I have these days, I'm gonna need help in keeping our Fan of The Month recognition up to date. While we're famous for our monthly newsletter coming out once or twice a year, and our Fan of the Month program happening with the frequency of a lunar eclipse, it's time we put fan recognition where it belongs - at the forefront of what we do. Let's face it, The Dukes of Hazzard has not been aired since CMT let it go, and the major DukesFest events as we've known them may have come to a close. The 2005 movie didn't exactly boost critical opinion of the show or its fans. The sophmore cable movie effort, "The Beginning" seemed to be Warner's Bros last squeeze of the cash cow teat. All ain't lost, though. Ben Jones still works hard to keep Dukes-themed events going, and Lord willing there will always be opportunties for fans to gather and celebrate our Hazzard County community. But those events will only be possible if the fans support them. The odds of the show getting back on cable will only improve if those who hold the syndication rights know we're out here. And it takes websites like HazzardNet to keep the fan base active and informed. Roger, this is a very long-winded way of saying that I'd like you to take over the Fan of the Month selection process effective with October, if you're willing. Meaning about mid-September you'd be making your recommendation for October's Fan of the Month. If you choose to accept this appointment, (which is chock-full of glory and fame but entirely absent of monetary compensation) then I'll PM you with further details. Officially, you know that if there's a problem you can email or PM any of us moderator-types and we'd look into it objectively. But it sounds like you're just airing something out. Far as I know, nobody's had any kinda issue with you that ended up getting our attention. It's amazing how long some people have been here, like Garrett. Here's a fact I stumbled across recently, and maybe ya'll knew this already, or maybe not. But for a quirk of fate, ol' Waylon might not have been with us long enuff to become the Balladeer for the Dukes of Hazzard. Back in the late 50's, a rising rock star by the name of Buddy Holly had put together a new back-up band for a winter concert tour. Waylon Jennings became his bass guitarist. Legend has it, that Buddy was tired of freezing his posterior off on the tour bus ( they weren't as fancy in those days) and instead arranged for a small airplane to fly them to the last stop on the tour. The plane was a four-seater only. Waylon gave up his seat to someone else, and chose to ride the bus instead. It was the most significant decision of his young life. The small plane crashed in a snowy, frozen cornfield, killing Buddy Holly at age 22, as well as the pilot and two other musicians. Waylon would go on to become one of the biggest names in country music, with a rough-and-tumble image and lifestyle that set him apart as much as his music did. Though it was decades apart and under far different circumstances, the month of February eventually saw the end of Waylon Jennings, just as February was the month of Buddy Holly's fatal flight. Both of these musicians are legends in their own right and have influenced scores of other performers. It's worth noting that their careers crossed paths. Thank you for the update. Harry is a real fighter. He's also got a great attitude and a lot of heart. We'll keep him in our thoughts and prayers. We'd love to hear him drop us a line on HNet when he's got the chance. In the meantime, thanks again to you and Mufn for keeping us updated.

Which means I gotta get those valentines posted over the next couple days.
