  1. Ohh, SOMEBODY is lookin' for a repeat stay! If you're lookin' for justice, you're in the wrong town. Mayberry is thataway. This is Hazzard. Chet, a/k/a Cowboy, as a deputy? Over my dead body. Wow, that'd be a great place to cue up some dramatic music.
  2. Waaal, lookit heah. All these people hangin' around the jailhouse. It's a good thang I came over, in case somebody's tempted to give B.L. a boost outta the cooler. Coincidently, looks like MaryAnne pulled over a towtruck outside. It was actin' mightly suspicious. Reckon we might have more guests for our county hospitality center! Which leads me to your bail, B.L. We're gonna halfta make some room so I'm gonna need you to earn your exit. Now, seein' how you're a Davenport, I'll expect you can swing this one. My car, and MaryAnne's car, take the same grade of oil as the General Lee. You'll need to supply us with a case of oil. I also need to know you'll get the right kind of oil. So, to git outta jail, tell me....what kind of oil would go into a 1969 Dodge Charger? I'm not talkin' Penzoil or Quaker State, s' got nothin' to do with brands, it's about the thickness.
  3. S'awright, you'd never know, because I fell off the map last year and didn't keep up with it. ( My day job started taking over my life.) Which is why I appreciate people posting things as they hear about them. I just can't have everything delegated away, or Mufn will wise up and boot me off the administrator team.
  4. Yeah, that's one of my other negleted jobs around here. Though it's premature to officially reassign this particular task. I'm not ready to turn in my keys just yet, despite popular demand. Anyhoo, thanks to everybody who posted about an upcoming appearance, because we don't want folks to miss an opportunity to meet somebody or miss a good performance. The only tidbit I have for the pile are a couple theatre gigs that Ben "Cooter' Jones has lined up in February, in Virgina. They're not Dukes events, but I'll include 'em in the homepage update, and list this other stuff too.
  5. [quote name=Cowboy;180975 Im more of an outlaw then a Duke' date=' Ive always been shunned from the Duke clan, why should now be any different? ~Chet You been shunned by the outlaws, too.
  6. She was let out awhile ago by MaryAnne. Can't help it if she decides to stick around anyway. Some Dukes take right naturally to prison.
  7. Waaait a minute now. There ain't been any doublecross or mutiny. I was merely in the process of drawin' out more information, so I pretended to be interested in double-crossin' you. B'sides, you have a Davenport and a Hogg hangin' around. Either of them would make mighty easy arrestin'. If you want to see somethin' other than a Duke behind bars.
  8. She made a great prisoner. We'll halfta do that again sometime. Well, MaryAnne, the crowbar motel awaits a new guest! Who's next in your list of warrants n' wanteds?
  9. Which jail ? Oh, the Hazzard jail! I dunno, but it was a very long time ago, and it was over some minor misunderstanding, and it only happened once, and I'm sure it'll nevah happen again.
  10. Not gonna happen. And in case you missed my earlier comment... THHHHBPTH!!
  11. Naw, Chet, we're not gonna bother tryin' to catch you. 'Cause ya see, I know what makes you tick. We'll arrest all the other Dukes, and just kinda overlook you. Then, bein' the only Duke not to go to jail, you'll be an embarassment to the entire family. I mean, if you're a Duke, and you can't wind up behind bars, then your ancestry gets called into question. You'll be sad, walkin' the streets free, when every single one of your relations gets the notoriety of bein' locked up. Hell, Daney and Daisy got arrested before you! BAHAHAHAH!! You call yerself a bad guy. THHHHBTH!!
  12. She sang the whole thang all the way through! I'd say that meets bail. Wouldn't you agree, MaryAnne?
  13. So what? You could end up in jail a second time anyway. Might as well earn it.
  14. What the hell would you arrest MaryAnne for? No, I don't think a citizen arrest of the Deputy is gonna be possible. *looks around quickly* But maybe we could work something out. I might be able to make an arrangement, for the right price....
  15. I think she's enjoying her stay too! But we can't have a freeloadin' Duke in heah all weekend. Because we have others to arrest yet. KHEE! First, though, Daisy Mae's bail ! Since there was some singin' earlier, let's see if your pipes are up to the test. For your bail, Daisy Mae, I want you to sing a Dolly Parton song. You get to pick the song...just make it pretty! If you sing good enuff, you'll be free to go. Sing bad, and you'll halfa git locked up in the supply closet, since we're gonna need this cell for our next Duke. Er, I mean, lawbreaker.
  16. No. What do you think this is, the Holiday Inn? Besides, the jail food here comes fresh out of a can. Delicious, nutritious, government surplus, creamed chipped beef! Gravy's so thin, it hides the stale bread we serve it on. And our tapwater is fresh outta the faucet, served in a sanitized 4 ounce tin cup. Just like momma used to make.
  17. Oh, I will name her bail, in good time. But since she's been admirin' the place so much from the outside, I'm gonna let her get a good look at the view from inside the cell. Maybe an overnight stay will make her think twice about tryin' to pull any shuck n' jives against the law. Plus, she's a Duke, and ya gotta maintain some substandards.
  18. Don't worry Mufn. As soon as we're done lockin' up Dukes, we'll get to the rest of our Wanted list. *pencils in another name*
  19. Aha! Finally, the top-secret Duke family recipie for chocolate no-bake cookies! Tasty and easy to make. 'Zactly what I was lookin' for. I'd say yer free to go, Daney. Lemme just see if MaryAnne is paying any attention.... DEPUTY! We got real estate openin' up, if you'd like to get the key for Miss Duke.
  20. It was a good, productive discussion all the way around. We're glad ya'll piped up and made your points. We'd rather know about something, and have a chance to improve it, than just see people walk away with no explanation whatsover. And Mufn's got some new scheme in mind that should make the fanfic section pretty cool. Tho' we had to take our discussion "outside" to settle some differences in viewpoint....*holds an icepack over eye* Just kiddin', we're all on the same page, if you'll pardon the expression.
  21. Daney, if anybody's evah needed a lawyer... it's you! Man alive, look at this rap sheet. I can't even read this stuff aloud as we got young 'ens in the building. Bail's gonna be mighty steep in yer case.... But lucky for you, I'm willing to overlook some of your more blatant crimes and give you a break. For your bail.... You need to surrender your recipie for chocolate no-bake cookies.
  22. Would that kind of structure allow for multiple-author uploads on the same story? In other words, support an RR structure?
  23. That's true. Then again, I've seen ones start of bad and get worse. The difference is , if the participants are actually trying to move the story forward. It's subjective thing, and open to a lot of opinion and interpretation, but I believe our members trust the HNet staff to make those judgment calls. And again, this thread speaks to the one-liner post habits as being the most unacceptable. I'm OK with taking some input from people here, and keeping what's worth keeping, but I'm also saying that we've got the right, and responsibility, to make determinations on what gets kept in the forums and what doesn't.
  24. BAHAHAHAHA!! I think that qualifies as bail. That's a right purty poem! Rodger, you might just be the new balladeer o' Hazzard County. Whatcha think, MaryAnne?
  25. This thread, and it's title, speaks for itself. I think there's been plenty of concensus that says, stories that are mostly one-liners, are not what the RR's ever intended, nor what a reader expects. My stance was different when I was picturing some budding writer trying to elk out a story. But after really looking at what is here.... that doesn't seem to be the case. I think our generosity and openess can, in fact, be taken advantage of.
