What happens in an implosion?
When a submarine hull collapses, it moves inward at about 1,500mph (2,414km/h) - that's 2,200ft (671m) per second, says Dave Corley, a former US nuclear submarine officer.
The time required for complete collapse is about one millisecond, or one thousandth of a second.
A human brain responds instinctually to a stimulus at about 25 milliseconds, Mr Corley says. Human rational response - from sensing to acting - is believed to be at best 150 milliseconds.
The air inside a sub has a fairly high concentration of hydrocarbon vapours.
When the hull collapses, the air auto-ignites and an explosion follows the initial rapid implosion, Mr Corley says.
Human bodies incinerate and are turned to ash and dust instantly.

They were trying to dive 3,810m (12,500ft) beneath the ocean in a submersible that the owners didn't bother get certified (many say it would've failed) because there was a queue of people willing to spend $250,000 each to do so. Carbon fiber and titanium are strong materials, but the pressure at that depth is enormous. It's estimated that the sub imploded at a depth of 3,500 metres (11,483ft) - that's still over two miles straight down!

Not even Cooter can fix it now. Condolences to the families....especially the one that lost 2 family members. One was just getting started in life.

It was Swamp Molly where it blew up? Thanks Skipper. I thought it was a Georgia ep. That's twice in one week I've done that. I thought Cooter went through the door with the motorcycle on a Georgia ep but it was Luke's Love Story.. Getting forgetful.

I like the yellow one from the Georgia episodes. It has the most grease on it. I also like the ones with Georgia themes, Falcons, Braves and Special Olympics.

I don't remember the Dominos one tbh but I gotta say, I like the yellow one from 5, 6, 7 the most. Gives it some colour while still dirty.

I agree about the yellow one as well as the season 1/2 yellow hat- adds that splash of color.  Thes season 1/2 was also the most iconic as this was the image you saw if Cooter in the title sequence that lasted the entire series.
Ben Jones must agree- the hat you see him in most often now is his yellow 'Cooter's Place' hat!

Every Duke fan knows about Bo blowing up the outhouse and destroying all Luke's car magazines but here is a scene I was just reminded of, when watching The Return of the Mean Green Machine from season 5. 
Miz Tisdale was delivering the mail in her dirt bike/sidecar when she came across Enos, who was stranded because mean green had pushed his car in the ditch. Enos hopped in the side car and they didn't get far before Boss and Rosco flagged them down and took the motorcycle. They needed it because Rosco destroyed his sheriff's car with a bazooka.
Rosco drove the motorcycle and Boss was in the sidecar firing the bazooka at mean green but had a terrible aim and hit an outhouse. They went back 4 years and used the same footage from Georgia!

Air raid
A farthing was worth 1/4d, i.e a quarter of an old penny when there were 240 pennies to the pound. The British Farthing ceased to be legal tender on December 31, 1960. Even the Irish Farthing was phased out before I was born, so I don't have either. I do remember the post-decimal 1/2p or ha'penny which was in circulation until the end of 1984, but I don't think I have any.

For what it's worth, I'm most of the way through Season 2 and my results are mixed.  I recalled Season 1 looking pretty good, but Season 2 has so much MPG compression that it's very distracting.  Massive pixelation and very poor color depth.  To be honest, most of the episodes that I've found on Youtube look much better than this DVD does, which makes me think that there's still got to be a higher quality set out there that everybody was ripping to put onto youtube.

Droopy played a great sheriff. And Cassius was a great bad guy. What a duo!
