  1. I assume the deer have more predators to fear around your area. Deer around here aren't really skittish except for loud bangs since the only predators around here are coyotes. When my wife got home from work yesterday I was showing her something we need to get fixed on the one car and one of the stray cats that I call Buddy walked by, I said Hi Buddy and he meowed back and kept walking. My wife was like "wait a minute did that dang cat just say hi to you" . I said that's Buddy he's cool. I might just have to take him with us if he's still alive when we move.

Hey Roger I know you're going to rooting for this car at Talladega You would have thunk RWR would have put this on the Camaro body instead but still pretty cool to see this.
  3. This lady wasn't just going off on the Covid vaccine either. She was ranting on all the vaccines/immunizations, "Every parent that gets their kids vaccinated is turning them into mutant's". I told the wife if I become a mutant turtle I hope I'm Michelangelo . My animal magnetism struck again. One of the stray cats around here got pregnant again had 3 kittens but the one was sick. God knows why but for some reason she chose our patio to leave it. She and the other two kittens hung out till we realized they were there. Next door neighbor said they've been hanging out in our patio all weekend but since we've been on the go all weekend we didn't know till yesterday. I managed to grab the sick one and get it into a carrier and my cousin setup a meet with one of her pet foster friends so we handed it off to them last night. I was telling the wife last night 'how the heck did it know to bring the kitten to our patio out of all the apartments here.' I hope the little booger survives and has a long healthy life.
  4. Went to the local annual Native American Pow Wow this weekend. This was the smallest one they've ever had, only 5 vendors showed up and maybe 2 dozen or so dancers. Before Covid they had between 2-3 dozen vendors and 50-100 dancers. A lot of it had to do with Covid and some with the rainfall we got last week, the grand marshal said some people didn't show because they thought it was cancelled due to flooding. That's understandable because for 15-17 years it was held at a park next to the Maumee river that flooded various times of the year. They had to move the Pow Wow to a new venue just outside of Grand Rapids Ohio a few years ago after that park was destroyed in the ice dam flood of 2018 I think, maybe it was 2019. Anyways when people got word of how much rain hit the area they thought it was cancelled so didn't show up. After the Pow Wow we went into Grand Rapids Ohio and checked out some of the shops. Some places closed while others thrived. We were hoping to get some pizza but the pizza shop was not open for some reason so we ended up picking a pizza up in nearby Waterville on the way home. I've heard some weird things about vaccines but what this one lady said at the Pow Wow was bat crazy. Apparently she believes that recent I Am Legend movie theory that vaccines are turning us into mutant's. The wife and I slowly backed away from her after she started talking crazy, didn't want to take any chances of triggering her in case she had issues of vaccinated people being near her.

If only Norris would have listened to his Crew chief(?) and pitted for rain tires when they tried calling him to pit he might have won. It was team sweeps at Las Vegas this weekend. Thorsport finished 1234 in the Truck series race. JR Motorsports finished 123 in the Xfinity race. Chase Elliott didn't get the memo though as he crashed the JGR sweep of the Cup series race. Early on it looked like it was going to be a race between Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson. Kyle Larson won stage 1. I'm not sure what happened to him in stage 2 since I went to bed and the highlight reels on YouTube don't mention it but he went a lap down and didn't get back on the lead lap till late in the race. Joey Gase was in the RWR 15 this weekend and suffered a wheel failure of some sort and hit the wall hard and was transported to a hospital for further evaluation. Top 10 1 Denny Hamlin 2 Chase Elliott 3 Kyle Busch 4 Martin Truex Jr 5 Ryan Blaney 6 Tyler Reddick 7 Brad Keselowski 8 Kurt Busch 9 Kevin Harvick 10 Kyle Larson
  6. It's definitely an '80's show. The writing and story telling for most episodes is weak. The plots and violence is blown way out of proportion to reality. The cars are awesome and the visual style the show was shot in is so different than anything else at the time and still holds up well today in my opinion. I was never allowed to watch it when it originally aired like I'm sure most kids weren't allowed to either. I'd say watch the pilot episode, it has some funny moments in it and the car chase scenes are great. There's also an episode in season 3 I think that has a car chase with an IMSA GTP car that's another must watch for the car chase alone. As of 5am this morning we set a new record for rainfall in a 3 day period 4 3/4 inches, most of the rain was yesterday. On the local news this morning they showed some flood damage and some tree's have toppled over because of the saturated ground.

Looks like Nascar will bring back practice sessions and qualifying next year but teams won't be able to make major adjustments after tech inspections which will take place before practice sessions.
  8. I couldn't tell you how many meds she's on, you name it she's probably got a pill for it. I remember this one time we had to take my brother in law to the ER after he had outpatient surgery. He brought a Tupperware full of prescriptions and the ER Doctor asked him which ones were his and he responded all of them and the Doctor said "Seriously??? How are you still alive and coherent". Then he looked through the prescriptions and told him "you need to have a serious discussion with your family doctor about all these. Nobody should be taking this many pills". I had a bit of nostalgia for Miami Vice so I popped in a season of that to watch while eating breakfast in the mornings.

I'm proud that they were both adult enough to talk about it instead of destroying each other's cars or trying to fight, and giving interviews instead of the Kyle Busch toddler tantrum. Some Nascar programming could be moving to online streaming...https://www.jayski.com/2021/09/20/will-nascar-fans-have-to-pay-to-watch-some-races-in-next-tv-deal/ So far it looks like practice sessions and qualifying.

  11. Good luck on the MRI Roger. I'm sick and tired of dealing with family drama this year so it looks like it's just going to be me and the wife celebrating the holidays together and skipping any family get together's if there even is any. What sealed that was my M-I-L accusing me of kicking her dog the yesterday while she was talking to the wife on the phone. Only thing I ever did to the dog was smack it with a newspaper when it nipped at me when I was playing fetch with it one time years ago. For god sakes I only seen the in laws 3 maybe 4 times in the past 2 years due to COVID-19 so I don't know how the heck that happened in that time period. Maybe it's time she had a doctor take a hard look at all the meds she's been prescribed to see which one(s) is causing her to see stuff that's not there or not happening.

Saturday night's Cup race didn't have the exciting finish that the Xfinity race did but did have some drama. It looked like it was going to be Denny Hamlin's race to lose and he did when he cut a tire while beating and banging with Kyle Larson for the lead. When Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliot were battling for the lead Chase Elliot also cut a tire and went a lap down. That didn't end there though... on fresh tires Chase raced his way back to Harvick and doorslammed him on his way by to regain his lap and then took Harvick's line away which allowed Chase's teammate Kyle Larson to catch and pass Kevin Harvick. Kyle Larson went on to win. Chase and Kevin had a heated discussion on pit road and had another discussion later, then Kevin got into a reporter's face about recording them and so they went to Chase's hauler to have their discussion. Aric Almirola, Tyler Reddick, Kurt Busch and Michael McDowell are out of the Playoffs/Chase. Top 10 1 Kyle Larson 2 Kevin Harvick 3 William Byron 4 Ryan Blaney 5 Alex Bowman 6 Brad Keselowski 7 Martin Truex Jr 8 Erik Jones 9 Denny Hamlin 10 Matt Dibenedetto It appears 23XI racing has bought a charter for the #45 next year and talks with FRM are still ongoing with either FRM selling both it's charter's to 23XI racing and not racing in the cup series or one charter and becoming another JGR Toyota satellite team. That would leave Ford with only Penske racing and RoushFenwayKeselowski Racing teams in 2022 with 6 or 7 Ford's each race.

  15. Had another one of those crazy storms last night. Another 2+ inches of rain in 45 minutes. Once again the parking lot flooded, worse this time. Luckily the water didn't reach our cars but I bet a few people will have to dry their vehicle interior's out as the water reached the doors of some cars in the lower parts of the lot. Lightning was crazy too, multiple strikes in the same spots. While moving some flower pots around before the storm I noticed a hummingbird moth visiting my prairie sunflowers. Guess that means I have a healthy garden for native pollinators .

  19. I'll be happy when I'm done with the prescription meds for the severe poison ivy reaction I got a few weeks ago. I go from being backed up for a day or two to not being able to leave the house the next because of several bathroom trips. To top it off the one pill gives me the foggy, head detached from your body feeling and sometimes fall asleep out of the blue so I can't drive after I take it. I don't know how some people can take that pill regularly but I guess your body build's up a tolerance for it. Here's another file for the you've got to be joking folder... And plumbers this warning is for you... It's now offensive if you're pants are baggy and falling off your waist if you're not of a certain color. According to an article I read over the weekend it's racist and gentrification if you do . So plumber's better pull them pants up and belts tight so you won't be labeled offensive by the whiney generation.

Martin Truex Jr won a snorefest of a race Saturday night at Richmond Raceway. By the end of the 2nd stage Denny Hamlin had lapped almost 3/4's of the field, I decided to go to bed as I figured the racing wouldn't get much better and from the highlight reels on YouTube it didn't. Chase Elliott seemed to be the only non JGR car that could give Denny a challenge but a pit road mistake put him a lap down, but he managed to drive back up to finish 4th. It would have been a JGR sweep if not for Kyle Busch getting a pit road speeding penalty late in the race. At the end only 9 cars were on the lead lap. It's funny Nascar failed Kyle Larson's car twice in inspection which forced him to start at the rear instead of the pole position yet the JGR cars were lapping everybody else, maybe they should have given the JGR Toyota's a closer look. As it stands now Alex Bowman, William Byron, Michael McDowell and Tyler Reddick will be eliminated from the playoffs at Bristol next Saturday night unless one of them wins the race. Top 10 1 Martin Truex Jr 2 Denny Hamlin 3 Christopher Bell 4 Chase Elliott 5 Joey Logano 6 Kyle Larson 7 Ross Chastain 8 Kevin Harvick 9 Kyle Busch 10 Ryan Blaney
