(I'll have more indepth accolades later, but for now, Dee, you've done a great job in this story. =) I took liberties with Fargo and Anderson, as I've had permission to write these characters from the start. Daney, I merely placed you in a position and I hope you don't mind the minor character control.) ---------- There was hardly any time to register what had taken place. Only that reaction had to be quick. Rosco had jumped out of Diablo when he realized MaryAnne was barreling through in Daney's car. He had hollared his warning and ran after the car in vain effort to stop what was about to happen but it was futile. He watched in horror as the gun in Fargo's hand discharged and Brian reeled from the bullet in his shoulder and fell into the open trunk of the Camaro. Enos, after he recovered from his fall over the hood of his patrol car, scrambled back to his feet as Fargo went diving out of the way of manic car. Enos didn't see that Brian had been hit, but did see the sparks in the black night as more bullets screamed in the direction of the trunk of the Camaro. Given the ferociousness of which the gunfire came, when it came to an abrupt stop, Enos could only guess that the gunman had run out of ammunition. Enos pulled his gun from his holster and started for the ditch Fargo had tumbled into. Hunter flew away from the scene and went several feet down the road before swinging around to come back. Rosco headed for the trunk of the Camaro. Anderson, rifle in hand, saw this and Enos heading for Fargo. He brought the rifle down to bear on Rosco first.... Rosco saw it and bolted to the end of the Camaro, hitting the ground just as shots skipped in the dirt behind him, dust illuminated by the Hunter's highbeams as the car returned to the scene. Rosco rolled around to the back tire of the Chevy and looked directly underneath the car to see where Anderson was standing. The man's feet took a few steps toward the back of the Camaro and then changed direction and he suddenly bolted in the direction of Enos's patrol car. MaryAnne brought Hunter to a skidding stop and jumped out of the car, pulling her gun from the holster. Hunter's highbeams cut a swath of light directly at Enos's patrol car and she saw Anderson running toward it. "Stop!" she yelled. A warning shot was fired. Daney scrambled out of her Plymouth and saw Rosco and MaryAnne headed toward Anderson. She looked and saw Enos had jumped down into the ditch and had one armed pulled behind Fargo's back, the bounty hunter face down in the dirt. His previous wounds were making their presense well known and the pain practically paralyzed him. Daney hurried over to help Enos. Anderson came to a short stop just at the fender of the white patrol car and turned back, bringing the rifle around to bear. Hunter's highbeams blinded him but he caught the movement of Rosco coming around the front of the Camaro and he fired a wild shot in the Sheriff's direction. MaryAnne answered by firing at Anderson, hitting the bounty hunter in his left arm, the force of the bullet knocking him over the hood of the patrol car. Rosco got there first and relieved Anderson of the rifle. He looked at MaryAnne as she came up beside him. "Brian was hit--" MaryAnne waited for no more and turned immiately, running back to the Camaro. She reached the trunk and pauses only a beat before reaching in to touch her cousin. "Brian? Brian, can you hear me??" Her fingers gently felt for a pulse... (cue Brian!)

Question for the Moderators!
MaryAnne replied to bethie88's topic in Story Ideas/Fics In Progress/Collaborative Efforts
No problem on posting the link to wherever your story is located. Or you can post the story here. Either way is fine! -
Enos stood perfectly still and even had his hands out so that Fargo and Anderson could see where they were. Riddick? he wondered. What did they want with Riddick? Boy he wished he knew what the heck was going on!! Stall for time the Sheriff had said. Was he kidding? The dude holding the gun on Brian looked ready to pull the trigger if he got the wrong answer. And Brian had his hands bound behind his back and was essentially helpless. Enos took a deep breath. "Awright...." he said gently. "Look, I think we can work this out here... I ain't sure where Riddick is right now but I can probably find 'em...." As Enos was talking, MaryAnne had brought Hunter down the road. The Plymouth's headlights were off, as Rosco instructed but MaryAnne wasn't exactly prepared for what she was going to see. Hunter coasted and when MaryAnne saw Brian being held at gunpoint by Fargo, the deputy saw red. Suddenly she slammed the accelerator and Hunter's highbeams came on. The car blew past Rosco in Diablo and was aimed for Fargo and the back end of the Camaro. "What the--?? MaryAnne!! NO!!!" MaryAnne had a deathgrip on the steering wheel. Daney was beginning to having some serious reservations about having let MaryAnne drive the car.... Enos turned, seeing nothing but bright headlights and he jumped out of the way, landing on the hood of his patrol car. Hunter's engine roared as the car came barreling down on Fargo and Brian. (cue Fargo or Brian!! (hang on, Daney! ROFL))

MaryAnne had waited patiently while Chet rolled his cigarette and then when the outlaw's gaze met hers she hardly blinked. She wore an expression of stone, her eyes revealing nothing. If he wanted to keep his mouth shut, she didn't really care either way. Eventually she would get bored with the stare down and would continue on with the business of the day and ignore Chet until such time he decided to answer the question that had been posed to him. MaryAnne wasn't stupid and hadn't become a deputy just because she looked good holding a Colt .45. She was already pretty sure Chet hadn't hurt Val, as he hadn't hurt any of the other women involved in this fracas. But in fairness to Enos, MaryAnne had to put the question out. And Chet had a lot more riding on the answer than even he realized. Finally, when the answer came, and in the form of a question no less, MaryAnne merely snorted. "Just checkin'..." she said. She turned to Enos. "You don't have to worry about Val, she's fine Enos. In the meantime, our three outlaws here are leaving town this morning, by escort. You'll be escorting Alex there...." MaryAnne pointed to the blonde drifter. "Rosco will be escorting Brian, and I'm gonna escort Mr. Charming over here." She jerked a thumb back to the cell that held Chet. "Alex goes east, Brian goes north and Chet here will be going west. The escort is to go at least two miles and from there our outlaws continue on and the three of us should keep watch until they're long gone from sight." MaryAnne looked back and forth between Rosco and Enos. "Any questions?" (cue Enos or anyone)

Those type jugs were never used on the show, as far as I know. They always used the glass jugs. That photo of Boss and Rosco was strictly a publicity shot. There's another version of it that I've seen in black n' white.

Enos had already slowed the patrol car down when Fargo had brought the Camaro to a screeching halt. Seeing Fargo jump out, however, sent up every red flag and alarm with the police training Enos had had. The patrol car came to a stop. Several feet behind him, Rosco brought Diablo to a quick stop and killed the headlights, the Chevy becoming cloaked within the darkness. He could see in the headlights from the patrol car that Fargo had popped open the trunk of the Camaro and Brian was being held like a prize buck, the gun unmistakable in Fargo's grip. There was a tense moment, as Enos remained in the cruiser, afraid if he stepped out that Fargo would pull the trigger. Carefully, he picked up his radio mike. "Sheriff? That's Brian in that trunk.....would you please tell me what's going on?" "There's no time, Enos. Listen to me....I'm not that far behind you...." Enos glanced in the rearview. "I can't see you..." "You're not supposed to. Step out of the patrol car, Enos....careful. Let 'em see ya, talk to 'em...stall for time, okay?" "Okay, Sheriff....you say so...." Enos put the mike down and slowly opened the door. He stepped out of the car and kept his hands in plain view for Fargo to see. Rosco was still on the CB. "MaryAnne, you hear any of that." "Yes! What in the hell is going on?!" "We've got trouble. Big trouble. Git your postieror up here, but kill your lights just before you get here." "That didn't answer my question! What the hell is going on?" "Our hostage situation just took a turn for the worst." MaryAnne tossed Hunter's CB mike down. "Dammit!" Daney flinched at the outburst. Enos meanwhile, stepped a few steps away from his patrol car. "Okay," he said. "Just take it easy....I was only pulling you over because you had a busted taillight...." (cue Fargo/Anderson)

"Well, he rode into town sometime last night and attempted to kill off Brian and Alex here and basically it's just been one great big mess and I finally decided to dispense some justice---" MaryAnne stopped suddenly and looked at Enos. "Val was campin' out with this dude?!?!" She then looked at Chet. "Awright mister....you better not have hurt or done anything to Val or you can just forget about bein' escorted to the edge of town...." (Cue Chet or Val)

DOH - Return Of The General Lee
MaryAnne replied to Capt_Redneck's topic in Games General Discussion
Well, as you can see I moved the post. =) Now....you wanted to be handcuffed by Rosco???? I just can't understand that.... -
We take for granted our health and well being when we have it. But when something like that happens, we realize just how fragile life is and how things can change at any moment. My thoughts are with you and the family of your friend.

Where can I find Dukes Animated LJ icons?
MaryAnne replied to bethie88's topic in General Discussion
Oh! Now I understand. LOL. I don't know of any avatars for the Dukes out on the web. (I have seen a site that has animated icons for AIM). But I will say that a future feature of HNet will be some icons for AIM and given that you've provided the demensions and file size for avatars, we can provide some of those too. 8) By the way, speaking of avatars, I'm still tryin' to figure out how to get the avatar thing to work here at HNet. Y'all stay tuned on that. LOL MaryAnne -
Rosco saw the Camaro's tail light go dark and he blinked. "That's funny it was workin' just a minute ago...huh, ain't never seen that before---" Suddenly Rosco stopped and he realized something. He could pull them over for a busted tail light! No. He couldn't. He wasn't driving a patrol car and the two bounty hunters already knew what he looked like and would probably bolt like scalded cats. If they didn't just shoot him dead first. Rosco picked up Diablo's CB mike. "Enos, you got yer ears on? This is Rosco..." "Right here, Sheriff! Where have you been? You and MaryAnne have been gone an awful long time and for a spell there I couldn't get you on the radio!" "Enos, will you hush! Listen, where are you right now?" "I'm on patrol on County 14. Why?" "I want you to get your butt over here to Farmer Road. I got a suspicious lookin' vee-hicle I want you to pull over." "Uh, Sheriff? You want me to come over to pull somebody over? Why can't you do it?" "Because, dipstick, I'm not in a patrol car! Now just hush and git over here. I'll explain everything later! Just git over here!!" "Yes sir! I'm gone!" Rosco sighed and dropped the CB mike. It was several minutes before he spotted the headlights of Enos's patrol car coming down another road that intersected with Farmer Road. The Camaro passed the intersection and then Enos pulled out and followed. "Sheriff, where are you?" "Nevermind where I'm at, Enos. The car infront of ya is the one I want ya to pull over. They got a busted tail light." "Ok, Sheriff...." The red and blue gumballs atop of Enos's car lit up. A short *whoop* from the siren called to the occupants in the Camaro. (cue Fargo/Anderson!)

Rosco had remained at the jailhouse during the night, to keep an eye on the outlaws. MaryAnne had gone home and slept there. With the morning light, the Sheriff stirred and was soon up and about, tending to the first duties of the day. After that, he began to fix a pot of coffee and he looked in to the cells of each of the outlaws. They were all awake, he could tell, despite their sitting quietly. A few minutes later, MaryAnne came in, placing her rifle down on her desk. She looked at Rosco. "Just gotta wait for Enos," she said. (cue Enos! Val, I know you're out there. =)

MaryAnne nodded curtly and looked at the outlaws. "Very well." She looked at Chet. "You can settle down, Chet, y'all ain't leavin' until the first light of dawn." MaryAnne looked at Alex and Brian and gestured to the other cells. "Free room and board for the evenin' gentlemen. I suggest you take it. YEEEHAAA!! Great job Pendragon! -
I have the single disc (didn't know there was a pursiut pack!) and the single disc that I have does not have the scenes that are in the one I taped off tv. Very disheartening. LOL. I have not seen Smokey and the Bandit 3 (and given I've yet to see it on DVD, I'm thinkin' it wasn't all that great ROFL). But I have seen number 2. (Again taped off television). Anybody think that the roller coaster that gets destroyed in S&B2 is the same roller coaster seen in the background of the truck ro-day-o in the first movie? LOL
-
Yeah... MC Gainey "No disrespect to the original but that was hokey." NO %*(!$* Sherlock!!! It was supposed to be you dipstick!!! Jit!! Frankly, they're probably having Rosco serious because they couldn't find an actor to properly protray Rosco. Kudos to James Best for breaking the mold. KHEE!

Waall...I don't know much about how the whole movie premeire thang works, other than the movies have some fancy premeire in NY and Hollywood and all the people who are somebody and all the people who THINK they're somebody but they're really not show up, and probably any various cities that are in some way connected to the filming (ie, Baton Rouge might be part of the premiere stuff) and then the movie is released to the general public. I don't how far ahead of the national release the premeires are. There's somebody boppin' around this forum that would probably know that. Your best bet probably is to keep an eye on Variety online....they would have all that pertinent Hollywood insider stuff. =) Although if we find any information as we get closer to the film's release, you'll find it here. khee!
