I remember when Dottie West died. She died in a car wreck on the interstate right down the road from my house in Franklin Tn. I go to her home town almost daily ( McMinnville Tn., ).

It's so tough to see people pass on. I look at Dukes stars like family and if one who was only on a single episode for a few minutes dies, it saddens me.....like people Rosco caught in the celebrity speedtrap, for example.

It was still sane when Denver’s/Uncle Jesse’s generation was still alive...but, sadly we are losing most of them, as time moves on. He was the same age as one of my grandmas...she passed away just two years after him, in ‘99. I can’t wrap my head around the idea they’d ‘be’...103 (little rhyme there)!  RIP, God bless, and miss you both!

Maybe it's just a coincidence but it sure seems like the world was still sane when Denver Pyle was alive.....and it seems like it started turning crazy after he passed on. We miss you Uncle Jesse. Happy 103rd birthday in Hazzard Heaven.....a place where everything makes sense and the biggest ending is happy.

I looked him up (spelled Rosey) and he was 6'5" and 290 lbs. I thought he was closer to 400 lbs but that's still huge. I do remember that he was mad about getting the ticket but I didn't remember that it was his mom's car. I can't remember if he was arrested or not but Rosco would have arrested him for littering.

Yes, it was an early Season 1 episode “Moving Violation”...Rosie Greer guest starred as this huge, massive guy who gets out of an old tiny compact car (it was almost clown-like).  He is so enraged because he’s getting a ticket (I think it was his mom‘s car supposedly, if I remember right—and she’ll be mad at him) that he begins to literally tear/rip the car apart with his hands...Greer’s guest-appearance is credited as ‘Car Killer’, no-less, lol!!!

I watched it but not on a regular basis. My favorite scene was when that tiny car got pulled over and that massive guy got out and was so mad he tore the car apart with his bare hands.  No, it wasn't Big Ed Little. I think it was Rosie Greer.

CHiPs sometimes was serious (for the time), as they once in a while even had fatalities & people dying. But, overall it was fairly lighthearted...although it was definitely more serious than DOH.  I don’t believe I’ve ever seen Rick Hurst in any kind of serious role.

That episode of CHiPs originally aired the day after Rick's third appearance in Dukes (The Meeting).
Looking through his list of acting credits, I'd say that most have been in comedy/light entertainment roles, with several as police officers or soldiers. I remember him in 'Earth Girls Are Easy' and I watched his episode of 'M*A*S*H' a couple of weeks ago. I'd love to see him in 'On The Rocks' (the US remake of the British sitcom 'Porridge'), but a grainy trailer is all that seems to be available online.

It's interesting that his character in CHiPs was 'goofy'. The show sometimes dealt with serious subjects (armed robbery, drink driving, mental heath issues etc.), but there was often some light-hearted relief or even whole comedic episodes. It was a good mix.

I understand that Mill Creek puts out more budget releases, but there are several series sets of older shows they’ve done that are pretty good—KR included, as well as Miami Vice, Charlie’s Angels, Magnum p.i., etc... Compared to the original DVD sets, the Blu-ray sets by them are pretty cool!
However, Turbine Medien is NOT a budget company...they are top of the line! The Blu-ray quality is superb...and their KR set is “perfect”! It’s one big, huge set sealed in an awesome designed box. So, they’re not going to take parts out for a cheaper price. I didn’t care for the sequel TV movie (Knight Rider 2000), Team KR, or the remake series—which isn’t included. But, it’s awesome that the majority of the franchise is included...even if I don’t necessarily need or want it.

I’ve recently discovered this YouTube channel myself & have watched a few of the videos (as I was/am as big of a KR fan as I was/am a fan of DOH).
Recently I discovered that a German company called Turbine put out a special 40th Anniversary Blu-ray set of KR this past fall—which there’s a video about that on this channel as well. The set is actually region free, though, and is SUPERB!!
It has original uncut/unedited NBC airings for the first time since the show originally aired!, with all original music, and completely restored in THE best quality of an older show I’ve ever seen! The special features & memorabilia included are off the charts, too!
I so wish DOH could get the same restored Blu-ray treatment that KR did—it would be amazing!!

I did google DOH Blu-Ray when I saw there was one for KR, but not yet. Thanks for the extra info - I haven't watched that video yet. I have the complete KR on DVD, and that's shot up in price since I bought it.

I've watched a few more of the Knight Rider Historians' videos, and while the one below has nothing to do with Valencia Oaks, it does contain a funding appeal from the North East Ohio Dukes. It was only posted just over a week ago, so it should still be current.

I recently came across the YouTube channel of Knight Rider Historians. As their name suggests, they research all aspects of Knight Rider, and now own a couple of screen-used cars, and are in the process of restoring the screen-used FLAG semi (truck and trailer). I've only just started watching the videos because most are in the 30-60 minute range, but the one below caught my eye. It mainly concerns the episode 'Out of the Woods' (previous mentioned in this thread), and discusses the Duke Farm and Boar's Nest filming locations.

Yeah, they talk about it on one of the special features, on one of the season DVD sets...can’t remember which season has that interview? But, it’s where John, Tom, and Catherine reunite in some NY sound recording room to talk about the show & reminisce.

I’m almost 47 (next month), and I grew up watching & I’ve been a diehard fan most of my life as well. I’ve never gotten to go to a Dukes Fest yet, nor have I ever gotten to meet any of the cast, but that is a dream that I hope to accomplish someday!
I have lots of memorabilia, though...the original season DVD sets, a newer Complete Series DVD set, my lunchbox & thermos still, the board game, the TV Guides, posters, 8x10s, but my favorite is I have all the action figures set up with 1:18 scale diecast metal models of all the cars/vehicles that have been made (General Lee, Daisy’s Plymouth Satellite & her Jeep, Rosco’s Plymouth Fury Hazzard cop car, Uncle Jesse’s Ford Truck, and recently Cooter’s Hazzard Chevy Tow Truck)!

I never heard about John Schneider and Tom Wopat's joyride.  It's a great story.  I'll have to tell my wife about it.  She's a big fan of Little House On The Prairie and of course The Dukes Of Hazzard.
